Racine, WI (PRWEB) February 17, 2015
There are few things more disheartening in the winter that looking out your front window and realizing how much snow shoveling or plowing has to be done before you can go to work. But after the first February storm, one Racine County resident got to crawl back under the covers.
Samantha Kupper of Racine recently won TruBlue Total House Cares national contest for a free month of services and TruBlue in Racine does professional snow plowing. TruBlue Total House Care of Racine owner Kelly Tanner actually saw that Samantha needed the services through a Facebook post.
She was looking for someone to come plow her driveway in the morning and I said, Did you forget about TruBlue? You won the contest and we DO snowplowing! Tanner said.
TruBlue was at her house, plowing and clearing the snow drifts well in time for Kupper to get to work at 6:15 in the morning.
The team was so accommodating to what I needed and I was really thankful for the service. Winning the contest came at the perfect time and, while they were here, they even cleared the snow off my furnace pipe, which was taller than me, Kupper said. We havent talked about what other services theyll be providing for the month, but I foster animals with a local animal rescue, so Im looking forward to having someone help me with the cleaning.
TruBlue of Racine specializes in providing complete house care, including maid services, lawn care, home improvements and emergency repairs. Kelly and her team are starting by focusing on complete house cleaning as well as snow removal services. TruBlue works with home owners, real estate professionals, general contractors and property managers to maintain homes and rental properties, improve curb appeal, make final preparations to sell homes and more.
Im looking forward to showing Samantha and our community the excellent services we can provide and the profound impact having someone handle your cleaning and home projects can have on your life. Time is precious and everything we do helps you reclaim that time for yourself, Tanner said.
TruBlue of Racine serves all of Racine County as well as the surrounding areas. All TruBlue franchises are fully insured and bonded and all employees are background checked and certified.
TruBlue was founded in 2011 as part of United Growth Brands. The contest Kupper won was held nationwide through TruBlues corporate social media pages.

DETROIT (AP) - It's a question Jeb Bush gets often, and will surely get again, over and over.
At a meeting of Republican donors who helped pay for 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney's campaign, one wanted to know: How does the former Florida governor plan to distinguish himself from his brother, former President George W. Bush?
"He said we are bound by religious faith and our family's values, but have different interests, strategies and leadership styles," said Craig Duchossois, a Chicago-based investor and GOP donor who was at the meeting.
Others who have attended similar private events with Bush in recent weeks, as he aggressively seeks to raise a pacesetting amount of money before formally launching a 2016 campaign, say Bush has told them the same. His overriding message, although not one yet offered with many specifics: I am my own candidate.
"He dealt with that tough question like a champ," said another donor at the meeting, Terry Graunke. "He said, 'We may have the same principles and values, but everybody in our family is different.'"
Part of Bush's strength in the early days of the 2016 race undoubtedly comes from his family ties, including a robust fundraising network and connections inside the Republican Party built over generations - his father served as president, his grandfather as a member of the Senate.
In public, Bush offers nothing but love and respect for his older brother, a figure who still divides Americans more than six years since leaving office - but less so now than upon his exit from the White House. In private, the younger Bush notes that they differ and see the world differently.
"It's an interesting challenge for me," Jeb Bush told an audience earlier month, offering a public glimpse into his thinking about how the legacy of his family might impact his own campaign.
"If I have any degree of self-awareness, this would be the place where it might want to be applied," he told the Detroit Economic Club, earning a chuckle. "If I was to go beyond the consideration of running, I would have to deal with this and turn this fact into an opportunity to share who I am, to connect on a human level with people."

A British study released Monday suggested that the risk of psychosis was five times higher for regular users of cannabis, adding to a growing body of evidence linking drug use and mental health disorders.
The six-year study published in the medical journal The Lancet reported on 780 people living in south London, 410 of whom were being treated for conditions including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The reports lead author was Marta Di Forti from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at Kings College London, who warned about the growing use of skunk a powerful type of cannabis.
Compared with those who had never tried cannabis, users of high potency skunk-like cannabis had a threefold increase in risk of psychosis, she said.
The risk to those who use every day was even higher a fivefold increase compared to people who never use, she added in a statement.
Psychosis is a mental health problem and the symptoms include hallucinations and delusions.
In England, about one new case of psychosis is diagnosed for every 2,000 people every year.
This paper suggests that we could prevent almost one-quarter of cases of psychosis if no one smoked high potency cannabis, said Robin Murray, professor of psychiatric research at Kings College London and a senior researcher for the study.
This could save young patients a lot of suffering and the NHS (National Health Service) a lot of money, he said.
The study was based on 410 patients who reported psychosis between 2005 and 2011. A further 370 healthy participants from the same area of south London were included for comparison.

A fight over the future of quarrying on Dunedin landmark Saddle Hill is likely to return to the courts after mediation efforts failed.
This comes as Saddle Views Estate Ltd director and quarry owner Calvin Fisher pushes a plan to return the hill to its ''former glory'' by re-filling it, which he says has attracted little interest from Dunedin City Council.
The likely return to court for the long-running conflict comes after the High Court last year ruled there was a consent for quarrying on the lower hump of Saddle Hill, but asked both parties to reach a consensus on conditions.
However, efforts to come to an agreement appear to have fallen over after two meetings, and council staff have recommended councillors leave it up to the Environment Court to decide on conditions.
Mr Fisher said yesterday he was disappointed at the direction from council staff and the lack of interest in his plan to return the hill to its former glory.
His hope was to continue quarrying the top of the hill and then return it to its ''former glory'' by re-filling it with hard fill.
This was a process used at other quarries around New Zealand, which was paid for by charging people to dump hard fill, such as concrete and brick.
This was a much better situation than leaving the summit of the hill in its current state, which due to historical quarrying was ''totally deformed from what it was''.
''When the council says they care about the hill and don't want to put it back to its former glory ... it's just disingenuous.
The fact he heard a recommendation was being made to the council through the media was typical of the ''abhorrent'' and unfair treatment his company had received.

The Pleasant Hill City Council approved a contract that officials say could lead to a better looking landscape.
The city council unanimously approved a new mowing contract that gives the city more legal recourse if a contractor does an inadequate job at a meeting last Tuesday.
Pleasant Hills parks and recreation supervisor Heath Ellis told the council the new contract helps ensure the citys green spaces will be landscaped properly.
Over the years weve seen some challenges associated with making sure (contractors) get the job done, Ellis said. With this contract, we have enough teeth so if they dont get the job done, theyre gone.
Ellis said the previous contract never clarified some important aspects of landscaping the citys parks, cemeteries and city properties.
In the past we never had verbage that basically spelled out, if you fail to do this, this is what is going to happen to you, he said.
He said the current contract adds sections making the mowing contractor liable for damage to trees and turf, as well as protection against bids that are too low.
The contract adds provisions that potential bidders must meet. These include the contractor must have mowed 100 acres per week last year, owned a commercial turf-grass mowing business for the past three years and provide proof of insurance from most recent seasons. The contract also stipulates services rendered on specific days of the week, like mowing the ball fields on Fridays, and specific types of equipment the contractor must use.
These are the things that we find to be most necessary, he said. It lets the contractors know that we are serious.
Ellis said the citys biggest problem in gathering bids for landscaping contracts is that it gets bids that are unreasonably low.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER Hoping to make liftoffs less expensive, SpaceX wants to land its rockets not on a barge at sea but at a new pad on Cape Canaveral.
The California-based rocket company still has to prove that it can safely land rockets, part of its strategy to make its Falcon rockets reusable and cheaper to launch. So far, SpaceX has twice tried to land rockets on a barge in the Atlantic Ocean with some positive results but without ultimate success.
Last week, SpaceX signed a five-year lease with the Air Force's 45th Space Wing, giving the company control over Launch Complex 13 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The pad was used by the Air Force and NASA to launch Atlas rockets from 1959 to 1978.
SpaceX is not yet publicly talking about its plans, though they are detailed in an environmental-impact study approved in January, clearing regulatory issues. The study says it intends to land up to 12 rockets a year there, just a couple of miles down the Air Force station's beach from where SpaceX launches.
The Air Force released a statement in which Brig. Gen. Nina Armagno, commander of the Air Force 45th Space Wing, said the deal is "a classic combination of a highly successful launch past morphing into an equally promising future."
Frank DiBello, president of Space Florida, which is pushing to turn Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station into a multiuse spaceport that launches NASA, military and private rockets, said he thinks SpaceX could be landing its rockets there well before the end of the decade.
But first, DiBello said, SpaceX has to get its landing technology to the point that both the company and its customers trust they can do it safely on a consistent basis. That confidence, he said, might require numerous test landings.
While SpaceX has been publicly talking about landing its rockets on a barge, the company eventually needs the stability of a landing site on land, he said. That was evident in SpaceX's most recent attempt, earlier this month, when the company had to bring the rocket down into the water because the sea was too rough for the barge. In the first attempt, in January, the rocket hit the barge and blew up.
"The fact that they have figured out the mechanics of getting it back down to the pad is impressive," he said.
At Launch Complex 13, most of the structures from the 1950s and '60s were torn down long ago. SpaceX intends to build five landing pads there. The primary pad would be 200 feet square. Four contingency pads, each 150 feet square, would surround it.
