Clean-Slate Janitorial Services, Torontos Leading Commercial and Retail Cleaner, Reveals Carpet Cleaning Tips

    - January 22, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

    (PRWEB) January 22, 2015

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services (http://www.Clean-Slate.ca), a Greater Toronto Area-based professional cleaning company that specializes in commercial office cleaning, retail maintenance, floor restoration, carpet cleaning, and construction site cleanup, is revealing three expert carpet cleaning tips to help keep carpets clean during the remainder of the winter.

The heart of winter is here and the cold weather and snow are really starting to kick in. And with that snow and cold weather come salt and boots walking back and forth on the carpet of a home or business, says Sam Panousis, owner and operator of Clean-Slate Janitorial Services. For many people, keeping a carpet clean can be daunting, but these helpful tips can get home and business owners through the winter mess.

Panousis explains that the first tip is to stop the mess from outside from getting inside in the first place. That could mean pressure washing or shovelling off snow from sidewalks and entranceways. Its also important to lay down some mats at the entrances of a store or building; a strong mat can soak up about 80% of moisture before it gets inside.

Another good tip is to clean high-traffic areas more frequently, he adds. Letting moisture sit can lead to mould and other hazards, so its really beneficial to focus on the areas where people are standing or walking the most.

According to Panousis, the last tip is to have a winter cleaning strategy. For instance, teaming up with a cleaning company to discuss ideas on how to prevent and remove dirt, snow, and slush from the carpets for the duration of the winter will leave carpets in much better shape once the season is over. (Source: Brouwers, M., 3 Tips for Developing a Carpet Cleaning Plan This Winter, January 17, 2014 http://commercialjanitorialservices.ca/blog/3-tips-developing-carpet-cleaning-plan-winter/.)

Its always better to have a plan in place going into the winter, Panousis concludes. That way, a schedule can be set and everyone is on board regarding when cleaning crews will be present and how theyll be going about doing their jobs.

Chem-Dry Carpet & Tile Franchise Expands Into Spain

    - January 22, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

MADRID, SPAIN--(Marketwired - Jan 22, 2015) - The Chem-Dry floor cleaning franchise system, which has more than 4,200 franchise units worldwide, is expanding into Spain. Chem-Dry has partnered with Jos Loureno to bring the world's largest floor cleaning franchise to Spain.

Loureno will serve as Chem-Dry's master franchisee, operating the brand, training and supporting entrepreneurs as they start and expand locally-owned Chem-Dry operations throughout the country.

"Chem-Dry is an international brand that has proven itself for nearly 40 years," Loureno says. "When you start a Chem-Dry, you are not just starting a small neighborhood business -- you become part of something much bigger, which has many advantages."

Loureno, who has operated a Chem-Dry floor cleaning franchise in Portugal since 1999, says that being part of a respected worldwide brand has helped him win business that would have otherwise been inaccessible. For instance, an American cruise line that regularly uses Chem-Dry for cleaning in the United States sought out Chem-Dry -- and hired Loureno -- when the ship docked in Portugal. It was a massive job that bought in a lot of revenue, he says.

Loureno became the master franchisee for Chem-Dry in Portugal in 2005, and he is expanding into Spain because of the vast potential for growth.

He calls the Chem-Dry international leadership team "very reliable and trustworthy. They are leaders in carpet cleaning around the world, and I have a very good relationship with them."

    The respect is mutual.

"We love working with Jos and entrepreneurs like him who are eager to build a strong business and deliver great service to homeowners and businesses," said Dan Tarantin, President & CEO of Chem-Dry and Harris Research Inc., its parent company. "We trust that customers will be thrilled to see what Chem-Dry can offer under Jos's guidance, and that his experience will help many others start floor cleaning franchises in Spain."

Chem-Dry cleans more than 10,000 homes and offices a day; Spain is the 48th country for the brand, which was founded in the United States in 1977.

How Chem-Dry is different Chem-Dry uses all-natural, green-certified cleaning solutions and patented equipment to clean a wide array of floor surfaces such as rugs, carpet, stone and tile as well as other surfaces including upholstery and drapes, serving both the residential and commercial markets.

Police warn of duct cleaning scam

    - January 22, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

HIGHLAND | Highland police are warning region residents of a duct cleaning scam after a local businessman claimed his customers were being duped by a phony company.

George Siemer of Siemer Heating & Cooling in Highland said he got a call from a regular customer last week telling him she received a call from someone claiming to be from his company and offering a special on duct cleaning.

The woman did not recognize the voice on the phone or the phone number from which the person called and hung up, Siemer said.

The following day, another customer called Siemer's business asking what time they were planning to come by for duct cleaning, saying he was going to have to leave for an appointment. Siemer told the man he did not schedule a cleaning with his company, advised him not to let anyone into his home and went to the man's home to confront the alleged scammers.

Siemer also called Highland police, who documented the incident in a police report.

According to police, Siemer confronted a man who said he was a technician in the 8700 block of Parkway Drive. The man said he received a text from his boss with a work order to come to the home. He arrived in a white Chevrolet cargo van with the words "First Duct Cleaning" on the side.

A Highland police officer confronted the technician, who showed him the text message directing him to the address. The technician called his boss and an officer spoke to the man who denied representing himself as working for or with any other company.

Police advised the man, who gave a business and home address in Skokie, Ill., not to use any other company's name. The man agreed and said he would advise employees to the do the same.

Cmdr. George Georgeff of the Highland Police Department said further investigation by the city revealed First Duct Cleaning Services is not licensed to do business in Highland. That issue is being reviewed by the city's building inspectors, he said.

The Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana has logged 30 complaints against First Duct Cleaning Services, which has an F rating with the BBB. Of the 30 complaints, 24 were for problems with the product or service, four were for advertising or sales issues, one for billing or collection issues and one for warranty or guarantee issues.

Air-Care, Indoor Air Quality Specialists for over 35 Years Launch the BioCart HEPA-UVC

    - January 22, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) January 22, 2015

Air-Care, a division of DPL Enterprises specializing in indoor air quality for over 35 years has launched a new product called the Bio Cart HEPA-UVC that is a dust containment cart with unique benefits for maintenance technicians working in ceiling spaces of sensitive areas such as healthcare facilities and clean rooms. "The Bio Cart HEPA-UVC has significant advantages in dust control, containment strategy and convenience of operation compared to other carts on the market," says Air-Care President, Richard Papaleo. "I am very proud to announce that this is the only containment cart with a power lift and folding bellows to mate with the ceiling in an effortless manner." Papaleo continued that the addition of a 3 segment ladder that can remain in the cart during transport, saves time on the job site and the exclusive UVGI lamps in the HEPA filtered air scrubber provide additional protection to patients and personnel in sensitive areas of hospitals and other medical facilities that often require containment when working above the ceiling tile.

We have found other carts lacking in features and convenience of operation, said Wayne Tracy, Field Operations Manager. Not only is the Bio Cart easily moved through doors and elevators, but its 3 section extension ladder that reaches 13 foot ceilings and collapses down to 6 ft to store inside the cart, saves a trip to the engineering department," Tracy added. The Bio Cart is designed with input from the wish lists of technicians who rather spend time on maintenance tasks, not setting up required containment units.

The Bio Cart has contractors anxious to place orders," said Mary Dziak, marketing manager of Air-Care. They love the professional look, easy set up and features just not available on other containment carts on the market today."

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to the collision around 8:15 a.m. and said the vehicle driven by a 28-year-old woman appeared to have lost its brakes before running into the wall.
