Kris Aquino expressed gratitude for those who supported her latest movie, Feng Shui 2, as well as the movie of her son Bimby, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin.
The TV host-actress made special mention of her ex-husband James Yap.
During the December 28 episode of The Buzz, Kris took this opportunity to thank James for attending the block screening of Praybeyt Benjamin 2, which is topbilled by Vice Ganda.
Thank you to James and Tita Mic. Effort yun on their part. Kasi when I text James, I said, Please bring Tita Mic kasi Bimb likes her. Um-effort na pumunta in a territory thats not really yours, said Kris, referring to James' girlfriend Michela Cazzola.
Kris described James as supportive."
The ABS-CBN actress added that she feel content knowing that they she and her ex-husband are now on good terms with each other.
"Kapag ganun ang nararamdaman mo, supportive sa anak ko, okay na. Kampante ka na maganda ito. Move on.
It will be recalled that James Yap postponed his flight to Negros in order to watch the block screening of Bimby's movie on Christmas Day.
President Noynoy Aquino, the uncle of Bimby, also took the time to watch his nephew's second MMFF movie.

MANILA Kris Aquino thanked moviegoers for the continued success of her movie Feng Shui, as well as her son Bimbys movie The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin.
Speaking on The Buzz where she is one of the hosts, Aquino announced that Feng Shui has already earned P88 million in the box office, while The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin earned P172 million as of 3 p.m. Sunday.
Aside from Aquino, Feng Shui also features Coco Martin, who admitted that it was a challenge for him to do a horror film for the first time.
The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin stars Vice Ganda, Alex Gonzaga and Richard Yap.
The eight movies competing in the main section of the Metro Manila Film Festival premiered on Christmas Day.
Last Friday, MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino, who also heads the Metro Manila Film Festival executive committee, revealed the top four films in the box-office race.
In no particular order, Tolentino said the four films leading at the box office as of December 26 were: "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin," "Feng Shui" "My Big Bossing," and "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles."
Tolentino refused to specify the rankings of the films, saying the executive committee is careful not to influence moviegoers by announcing a top favorite in terms of nationwide earnings.
Tolentino said the festival is likely to hit P1.2 billion in gross earnings when it closes on January 4.

'Praybeyt Benjamin 2', 'Feng Shui 2' continue to rule the 40th MMFF 2014 box-office now with a combined gross of P260-million.
These movies are certified box-office winners, but sadly, they were heavily snubbed at the MMFF 2014 Awards Night or Gabi Ng Parangal held last night. They didn't win a single award.
Was it intentional on the part of the Metro Manila Filmfest committee to not give these 2 any awards since they are already lording the box-office? Maybe yes, to help other entries pick up in the box-office after winning many awards, but it could also be the other way, since 2 other films were also empty-handed last night: 'Shake, Rattle & Roll XV' and 'Muslim Magnum .357'.
It was the worst thing that happened for 'The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin' during the Awards Night. I was expecting this Vice Ganda starrer to at least get nominations for Tom Rodriguez and Alex Gonzaga as Best Supporting Actor and Actress, but sadly, their efforts were overlooked.
The nominees for Best Supporting Actor were Kean Cipriano for 'English Only, Please', Joey Marquez for 'Kubot: the Aswang Chronicles 2', Roi Vinzon for 'Muslim Magnum .357', Jose Manalo and Sef Cadayona for 'My Big Bossing'. Marquez won.
On the other hand, nominated for Best Supporting Actress were Cai Cortez ('English Only, Please'), Lotlot de Leon ('Kubot'), Nikki Gil ('My Big Bossing'), Chanda Romero ('SRR 15') and Carmi Martin ('Feng Shui 2'). Lotlot was named the winner.
Is TAPB the worst among the 8 entries in terms of cinematic quality? It's the least nominated film, getting just 1 nomination: Best Child Performer for Bimby Aquino Yap, who however lost to My Big Bossing's Ryzza Mae Dizon.
Chito Roo's 'Feng Shui 2', though it also won nothing despite being graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), somehow fared better than TAPB, getting nominated in many categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Roo lost to 'English Only, Please' director Dan Villegas. Other nominees for Best Directing were Enzo Williams ('Bonifacio'), Erik Matti ('Kubot') and Jerrold Tarog ('SRR 15: Ulam episode').
Movies who were underperforming in the box-office the past 3 days will likely earn more now after collecting many awards last night. These are Best Picture winner 'Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo', with 8 awards, and especially, the 2nd Best Picture 'English Only, Please', which had 7 awards including Best Actor for Derek Ramsay and Best Actress for Jennylyn Mercado, who was sooo hot last night. (Can't blame Manila Mayor Joseph 'Erap' Estrada if he can't resist the urge while giving the trophy to her. Were you able to see that moment when Erap wanted to give Jennylyn many kisses?)

The director relayed that working with the stars of the movie has been easy. Yung mga artista ko hindi sila maarte, maarte sila pero hindi sila ganoon ka maarte, hindi sila naghanap ng bilang ng eksena, hindi, wala, he said.
Direk Chito also commented on Cocos performance in what is the latters first horror film. Si Coco kasi pag nagre-reak, reaction ng lalaki, sabi ko I-exaggerate mo ng konti. I mean kailangan mo gumanon ng konti kasi it defines horror.
Overall, direk Chito remarked that Coco did a great job in the movie. Kasi hindi naman tayo Amercian horror na slash-slash yung mga supernatural na horror natin so madali siyang nakapag-adjust without crossing the line, without competing with Kris Aquino.

A wrought iron fence has been erected around the County Administration building to keep vagrants at bay, however, it also surrounds the Downtown Farmer's Garden, preventing access to visitors and passersby, including law student Ted Riquelme, left, and Children's Home Society employee Asa Drake, right, who says she regularly visits the garden, Sunday, December 21, 2014 in Gainesville, Fla. "Seeing the fence around the garden made it a little daunting," said Drake, as she tried to take a peek at the garden through the iron bars. "It makes it feel like we are trespassing."
In response to growing concerns about public health and safety, the county has erected fences at spots around the County Administration Building downtown.
The fences were erected a few months ago after complaints from citizens and county employees regarding issues with the downtown homeless population, said Charlie Jackson, the county's facilities manager.
As part of a comprehensive security update, the county spent $8,830 on the fences, which close off nooks where people can hide, such as the organic garden. There is also a conceptual plan to install security cameras on the exterior of the building.
There were several situations where the homeless have scared or threatened employees coming into or leaving work, Jackson said.
"It's gotten worse in recent weeks," he said.
Though Jackson said safety was a concern, many employees said that the main issue is sanitation.
Brittany Bassler started working for the county tax collector about a year ago. She was told the fences were mainly built to maintain the building, rather than out of a safety concern.
Bassler said she hasn't been directly contacted or harassed by anyone, but she does notice trash and abandoned bags and clothes often near the building.
A few months ago, a bomb squad was called because a bag was left on a transformer; the bag turned out to contain clothing, she said.

The General Electric F110 is an afterburning turbofan jet engine produced by GE Aviation. The F110 engine uses the same engine core design as the General Electric F101. The F118 is a non-afterburning variant. The engine is also license-built by TUSAS Engine Industries (TEI).[1][2]
The F-16 Fighting Falcon entered service powered by the Pratt & Whitney F100 afterburning turbofan. Seeking a way to drive unit costs down, the USAF implemented the Alternative Fighter Engine (AFE) program in 1984, under which the engine contract would be awarded through competition. The F110 currently powers 86% of the USAF F-16C/Ds (June 2005).
The F110-GE-100 provides around 4,000lbf (17.8kN) more thrust than the F100-PW-200 and requires more air, which led to the increase in the area of the engine intake. The F-16C/D Block 30/32s were the first to be built with a common engine bay, able to accept both engines, with block 30s having the bigger intake (known as "Big Mouth") and block 32s retaining the standard intake.
Initial orders were for the F110-GE-100 rated at 28,000lbf (125kN). Later versions of the F110 include the F110-GE-129 delivering 29,400lbf (131kN) thrust and the F110-GE-132 delivering 32,000lbf (142kN)
The United Arab Emirates Block 60 is powered by the General Electric F110-GE-132 turbofan, which is rated at a maximum thrust of 32,500lbf (144.6kN), the highest ever developed for the F-16 aircraft.[3][4]
The F-14A entered service with the United States Navy in 1973 powered by Pratt & Whitney TF30s. By the end of the decade, following numerous problems with the original engine (and similar problems with the Pratt & Whitney F100 on the F-15 and F-16), the DoD began procuring the upgraded TF30-P-414As. While these engines solved the serviceability problems, the fuel consumption and thrust was comparable to the initial modelconsiderably less than what the F-14 had been designed for.
In 1979, a derivative of the GE F101 turbofan called the F101-X was selected to power the F-14 and was later designated the F110-GE-400. The primary difference between the F110-GE-400 and the F110-GE-100 is length - the F110-GE-400 has a 50-inch (1.3m) tailpipe extension to suit the F-14 airframe, which is fitted downstream of the augmentor (afterburner section). The new engine provided 30,200lbf (134,000N) maximum augmented thrust at sea level compared to the TF30's maximum thrust of 20,900lbf (93kN). These upgraded jets were known as F-14Bs, as were production aircraft powered by the F110. The same engine also powers the final variant of the aircraft, the F-14D.
Two F110-GE-129 engines, with 29,400lbf (131kN) of thrust, power 40 F-15K fighters of South Korea. This is the first time production F-15s will be powered by a GE engine, since all previous F-15 models were powered by Pratt and Whitney. The GE engines will be manufactured through a joint licensing agreement with Samsung Techwin Company. It has also been chosen by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) to power its F-15SG, and Saudi Arabia to power its F-15SA.

While addressing a group of children recently, I happened to mention the pope and I was completely flabbergasted to learn that not one of these 11 and 12-year-olds had ever heard the word pope.
If they did not know the popes name, or even if they did not know what his role is, or where he lives, or where he is from, I would not have been so upset. But they all claimed that they had never heard the word pope.
If it were one or two of the group who had never heard the word, I probably would not have been so shocked, but it was the entire class which came from different homes and different schools. It really threw me in a spin.
This experience set me thinking about education, learning and parenting. Is our educational system beneficial to the majority of our children? Is learning being experienced as fulfilling and exciting so as to capture the interest of the majority.
It used to be said that what the previous generation knew at 16 years old, the new generation knows at 12 years old. This philosophy signified that there was marked improvement in education and development of the mind, as it should be for the development and advancement of a people.
But now that thinking (generational improvement) seems to be stagnated or has even gone backwards and it is not only evident in general knowledge but also in spelling, reading and in analytical thinking.
I believe that a great percentage of todays Barbadian children are not able to cope with the change in workload that occurs in the move from primary school to secondary school. To move from doing primarily two subjects, maths and English, and then three months later in secondary school they are doing about ten subjects, can be quite overwhelming for many of our students.
There should be a system used where we can determine which children have the capacity to adapt to such a drastic change in workload and at what age. Every child is not ready for secondary school at age 11. Some might not be ready until 13 years old.
Placing a child in that environment before it is ready can hamper its progress. Everyone does not develop at the same pace. I believe that our students would be more productive if we found a way to determine their academic capabilities at that early age.
Also, it would be to the islands advantage if we could determine the childs interest and skill area at an early age. I strongly believe that if the children show the definite talent for carpentry, mechanics, art and so on, they should be channelled in that specific direction from early.
