    According to Mulieri, detailed descriptions of home mold removal services are important because many people aren't aware of the causes of mold and may not realize that air ducts need to be cleaned regularly.

    Mold growing in dirty air ducts can affect the health of home residents, exhibiting itself in symptoms like runny nose, itchy throat and other signs that would often be associated with a cold. Mulieri advises people who haven't had any work done on their air ducts in five years and people who have just had major home reconstruction to have their ducts cleaned.

    "The way our process works is a customer will call to arrange for an appointment for us to do a physical evaluation of the system and then we provide them with an estimate, then schedule the project," explained Mulieri.

    When experts from Mold Gone visit homes, they remove mold from air ducts and use a non-toxic, broad-spectrum disinfectant to kill bacteria and viruses as well as fungi and mold. "We are using new technology, equipment and approaches that result in a cleaner duct than other companies," said Mulieri.

    "We believe that this addition to our website and our portfolio will help to make our customers more aware of the dangers of mold and it also gives them an alternative, a resource that is specifically geared to the treatment and eradication of mold," said Mulieri.     Callie Kristan Crosby, daughter of Robin and Kristan Crosby of Upper Arlington, was married to Kyle Thomas George, son of Tom and Lisa George of Mount Prospect, Ill., on Aug. 16, 2014, at The 10th at Vail Mountain in Vail, Colo.

    The maid of honor was Cara Clippinger, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jessica Crosby, Kay George and Rose George.

    The best man was William George, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Christopher Crosby, Kyle Crosby, Frank George and Jon Clippinger.

    The bride graduated from Upper Arlington High School and Columbus College of Art and Design. She is an interior designer with Brad Adams Walker Architecture, P.C.

    The groom graduated from Prospect High School and Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a district engineer with Liberty Oilfield Services.

    The couple took a wedding trip to Belize.

    They reside in Denver.

    Pictou awards tender for off-site signage

    PICTOU A local landscape architect has been awarded the tender to oversee off-site signage for the Town of Pictou.

    The town received two bids on its request for proposals for a project co-ordinator for off-site signage and Rachel MacLean was the successful applicant.

    Her bid was almost equal to that of another business that was located outside of the county. The town is spending $5,000 on the project co-ordinator position that will move Pictou into the next phase of its signage and branding plan.

    MacLean, who has done work for other Pictou County municipalities, will be responsible for preparing a business case that could include the fabrication and installation of signage for not-for-profit groups as well as the public and private sector.

    Epilogue: Patricia Bailey-Snook changed political landscape in Pinellas Park

    PINELLAS PARK Saying her goal was to help people, Patricia Louise Bailey-Snook volunteered to serve on a Pinellas Park advisory board.

    When she retired from political life more than 30 years later, Mrs. Bailey-Snook left behind a series of firsts first woman to serve on the Pinellas Park City Council, first woman to serve as vice mayor and the first woman to serve as mayor. She also served a term in the state House of Representatives before returning to serve on the council.

    Along the way, she helped hundreds of people, not the least through the Angel Fund. The fund, which she talked her fellow council members into creating, is a nonprofit organization supported by Pinellas Park residents and businesses to provide emergency help to pay for basic expenses that are critical to financial survival, like rent and mortgage payments, utilities and child-care costs.

    Mrs. Bailey-Snook, 78, died Dec. 8, 2014 in Sumterville.

    "Pat was a good council member," said former Pinellas Park Mayor Cecil Bradbury, who served beside Mrs. Bailey-Snook for years. "She had a lot of influence on the lives of the citizens of Pinellas Park, especially the younger lives. . . . I just hope the people of Pinellas Park remember her as fondly as I do."

    Mrs. Bailey-Snook was born in Harrodsburg, Ky., but spent most of her life in the Pinellas Park-St. Petersburg area. She became involved in local politics in the late 1960s or early 1970s and was first elected to the council in 1972. At that time, the vice mayor and mayor were both chosen by the council and, eventually, she won both positions. (Vice mayor is still an appointed office.) She briefly left the council from 1982-84 to serve in the state House. She returned to the council in 1987 and served continuously until her retirement in 2008. While on the council, she served as a member of many countywide boards including the Metropolitan Planning Organization, Pinellas Planning Council, Pinellas County Cooperative Extension Service, Pinellas Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Family and Children's committees for the National League of Cities.

    "She loved it. She loved being involved," her son, Michael Bailey, said. In becoming involved in politics, "she just found her calling. You could tell she found her lifelong love and destiny."

    Those early days were rough for a woman in Pinellas Park politics, he said. His mother learned to stand her ground in debates, even when she came home bruised and bloodied from the battle. Literally. Bailey said he remembers her coming home from a council meeting one night with a bloody shin from where someone had kicked her under the table.

    "A grown man had kicked her in the shin," he said.

    It was a lesson Mrs. Bailey-Snook learned well. When Rick Butler was first elected to the council, he sat next to Mrs. Bailey-Snook.

    Tasmanian land-clearing limits deferred

    Tasmanian farmers have won over the federal government, which will lift a ban on broadscale private land clearing before it has even begun.

    In a deal between federal and state Labor governments, private landowners were limited to clearing 20 hectares over five years, which was down from a cap of 40ha a year.

    The measure, due to commence in January, has been delayed for at least a year, Liberal senator for Tasmania Richard Colbeck confirmed on Thursday.

    "I have spoken with Tasmanian farmers who raised concerns about the negative impact the land-clearing ban would have on their businesses, potentially impacting their ability to expand and take advantage of new opportunities," he said.

    The move follows a deferral request by the Tasmanian government, which wants to review the state's forestry protection measures.

    The "backflip" signals a new level of chaos in forest management, Greens senator Janet Rice says.

    "Without the broadscale clearing ban, we can wave goodbye to rare and threatened forest types found in dwindling pockets around the state," she said.

    Environmental groups have condemned the review of the state's biodiversity legislation for neutering the office of environment.

    Local bodies composed mainly of farmers and planning bureaucrats would be given new powers to manage vegetation clearing in a controversial proposed overhaul of NSW environment laws.

    A host of environmental groups, including World Wildlife Fund and the National Parks Association, condemned the review of the state's biodiversity legislation for neutering the office of environment and say it will lead to wide-scale land clearing and loss of species.

    The review, led by former productivity commissioner Dr Neil Byron and released on Thursday, recommends repealing the Native Vegetation Act and two other laws in favour of a single piece of legislation governing the protection of native species, national parks and wildlife.

    The NSW Farmers Association welcomed the proposal but said it would be watching how much of it was adopted by the government.

    "If you're going to repeal three acts and have one you would think there's scope to reduce red tape," said Mitchell Clapham, chairman of the organisation's conservation and resource management committee.

    Under the plan, regulations for managing and enforcing regular vegetation clearing would be overseen by the planning department and "local land services", local regulatory bodies composed mostly of farmers.Any changes would require the consent of the environment minister.

    Development of previously uncleared land would be managed like a regular development proposal by the planning department and local councils.

    Ellen DeGeneres lists condos, moving back to previous home

    Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, known for her love of fixing up and selling houses, has listed her adjacent units in a Westwood condo building for close to $16 million.

    Get out the road map and the moving truck. She bought the two Wilshire Corridor condos for that amount in July after selling her primary residence on the Westside to Napster co-founder Sean Parker for $55 million.

    The smaller of the two condos, which are for sale separately or together, has been redone and features an elevator opening directly to the unit, stone and wide-plank oak flooring, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a half-bath. Priced at $7.495 million, it has 3,813 square feet of living space.

    The larger condo contains 4,158 square feet and is listed for $8.495 million. There are two bedrooms and three full bathrooms.

    Together the units take up an entire floor with golf course and downtown views.

    The digs appear to have been only temporary as DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, prepared to move back into a property she previously owned. That two-part deal involved buying back the Hollywood Hills West home of Jodie Fosters spouse, Alexandra Hedison, this summer and an adjoining property for a combined $10 million the same amount she sold both properties for in 2007.

    Hedison, who married Foster in April, rebuilt and updated the 1950s four-bedroom home with a swimming pool, installing new wiring, plumbing, roofing, windows, a security system and other improvements.

    The re-formed DeGeneres compound has more than 1.6 acres of grounds.
