Residential Warranty Company, LLC (RWC) attended its first national trade show back in 1988 in Dallas, Texas. Back then, the show was the premier show in the building industry. Fast forward 27 years, and both RWC and this national show now known as the International Builders Show are both giants in their respective industries. RWC - now a leading provider of insured home warranties - has been in the home warranty business since 1981 over 33 years and has warranted over 3 million homes across the United States.
The NAHB International Builders Show (IBS) has grown steadily to become the largest annual light construction show in the world with over 2,000 industry brands on exhibit and more than 75,000 attendees. Today, IBS is the nations largest annual residential housing construction trade event for manufacturers and suppliers of home construction products and services.
RWC and its Texas affiliate, HOME of Texas, look forward to meeting new prospective members in Las Vegas, January 20-22, 2015, and reconnecting with current members as well. Certain to be topics of interest will be the revitalized websites for both RWC and HOME of Texas, the streamlined online systems launched recently, and of course, the wide variety of home warranty plans and risk management options for builders, remodelers and manufacturers.
This year, more than ever, stopping by and registering at the RWC/HOME booth (C2556) matters.
Stop by for 3 Big Reasons:
Savvy builders, remodelers and manufacturers in the housing industry are encouraged to stop by the RWC/HOME booth to take advantage of all the benefits that these two powerhouse home warranty companies provide!
While RWC and HOME focus on getting business done in Las Vegas, the third member of this dynamic home warranty group, MHWC the national affiliate for HUD-Code Manufactured Homes will be getting it done in Louisville, Kentucky at the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show!
The 2013 and 2014 shows were the best attended manufactured housing industry events anywhere. The road to success for 2015 begins in Louisville, Kentucky on January 21-23, 2015. This year's show will have the most factory built homes shown indoors than anywhere in North America! 2014 brought the best attendance in years, and many said it was the best show in a decade. 2015 is expected to be even better, and so of course MHWC has made plans attend (booth #215).
The manufactured housing industry is an integral segment of the overall building environment in the U.S. and MHWC offers a specialized variety of home warranty programs and risk management plans tailored to the unique needs of HUD-Code home manufacturers, builders and dealers.

One theory behind these numbers is that the current generation of home automation devices is perceived as adding very little value beyond simply being a 'gimmick'. Hendrik Bartel, research director at Gartner, said that the current value propositions are too vague and not enticing enough to achieve broad market penetration.
"Perhaps the first attempt has fallen flat in terms of promoting the value of enhanced energy savings or automation of repetitive tasks, as it would appear to be unable to convince the larger market to take advantage of the connected home," he said.
Bartel suggested that offering discounts for purchasing multiple devices could help to fuel growth, boosing customer loyalty as well as getting more devices into the household. Ensure that home automation devices easily integrate with other devices already installed in the home is also imperative, he said.
Gartner predicts that 2015 will see more household brands moving into the connected home space. In particular, Apple's HomeKit platform is likely to become a hub for connected household objects, and Bartel expects to see products taking advantage of deep iOS integration at CES 2015.
Accenture also expects to see more products from companies that would not traditionally attend CES, in categories such as clinical healthcare, home security and home automation. However, it said that the vast amounts of data being produced by consumer electronics devices will push security further up the agenda.
Indeed, the Consumer Electronics Association has revealed that, for the first time in 2015, there will be two new 'marketplaces' at CES one for personal cyber security products and solutions and one for attendees to learn about the newest technologies and strategies they can adopt to protect their information online.
"As we all embrace the convenience and 'always connected' powerful capabilities of our electronics devices, our privacy and security take on even more importance," said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, International CES and corporate business strategy, CEA.
Meanwhile, Accenture predicts that there will be a strong focus on how car manufacturers are embedding connectivity into their vehicles, allowing for the car to become an extension of the smartphone, and an integral part of the so-called 'Internet of Things'.
The comapny elso expects to see a slew of large-screen smartphones, known as 'phablets', which will put a squeeze on the tablet market, as well as a range of 4K TVs, with a focus on larger, bendable and therefore more flexible screens.

Danfoss Turbocor VTT series of oil-free, variable speed, magnetic bearing centrifugal compressors wins green building category; ETS Colibri electronic expansion valves recognized with an Honorable Mention in the cooling category
Danfoss, a leading manufacturer of high efficiency electronic and mechanical components and controls for air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and motion systems, has been recognized by a panel of ASHRAE members with a 2015 AHR Expo Innovation Award, green building category, for its Turbocor VTT series of oil-free, variable speed, magnetic bearing centrifugal compressors. The company also received an Honorable Mention in the cooling category for its new ETS Colibri electronic expansion valve. Together, this marks the 17th and 18th time Danfoss has been recognized in the AHR Expo Innovation Awards program over the course of 12 years.
We are honored to receive the 2015 AHR Innovation Award, commented John Galyen, president, Danfoss North America. Innovation is rooted deep in our culture. For more than 80 years, Danfoss has been focused on engineering innovative, reliable technologies that reduce energy use and environmental impact and, today, we remain committed to product development and partnerships that enable our customers to meet the challenges and standards of tomorrow.
Award Winner: Turbocor VTT Series of Compressors
As the green building category winner, Danfoss Turbocor VTT series of compressors introduces IntraFlow, an innovative and patent-pending technology that improves efficiency and provides an extended stable operating range while simplifying capacity control. IntraFlow eliminates the need for inlet guide vanes or mechanical variable geometry diffusers, allowing VTT compressors to offer both superior full-load and part-load performance and enabling chiller manufacturers to achieve the latest efficiency standards.
Intended for water-cooled chillers and with capacities of 350 tons per compressor, Turbocor VTT or Variable Twin Turbo compressors are ideal for commercial air-conditioning or process cooling chillers reaching up to 1,000 tons or more. New drive technology featured on the compressors is exclusive to the VTT series, and is the result of integrated RD efforts blending Danfoss extensive expertise and capabilities in high-efficiency compressors and variable frequency drives for the HVACR industry. The VTT drive will have the superior reliability and performance that has come to be expected from Danfoss, in a small frame size made achievable only with refrigerant-controlled heat removal.
Because the compressors are oil free, end users experience lower maintenance costs associated with traditional systems that can suffer from repair chronic lubrication problems.
The Turbocor VTT series of compressors takes the benefits of magnetic bearing technology up into larger capacity ranges where our current TT series leaves off. Plus, the energy efficiency improvements on this new series of compressors enable our OEM partners to meet the new ASHRAE 90.1-2015 efficiency standards, said Frank Ford, director of product management for Danfoss Turbocor Compressors.
We are excited that this years panel of judges has recognized the innovative and efficient capabilities of the VTT series of compressors. We are very honored to receive this prestigious award. We have a strong sense of responsibility to continue to shape the HVAC industry so that we can do more with less energy via innovation, said Ricardo Schneider, president and CEO of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors. This award gives us the unique opportunity to recognize our customers and our organization as a highly integrated partnership that helps bring innovative energy efficiency solutions to the chiller business.
This is the third AHR Expo Innovation Award that Danfoss Turbocor Compressors has received.

Lovers of Forbury Gardens worried that the temporary ice rink and funfair might be damaging the park need have no fears.
The muddy verges and trampled flower beds have been anticipated by Reading Borough Council and there are plans to reinstate them when the funfair leaves.
Visitors to Reading's award-winning park will have seen grass verges turning to mud and tyre tracks through the grass in the past few days as crowds flock to try out the ice-rink and the rides.
Reading Borough Council spokeswoman Anna Fowler said: The impact on grass and beds of the large numbers of people visiting the Forbury was anticipated, especially where people are walking between stalls.
"Matting has been laid to protect the ground and further matting will be installed shortly, along with temporary fencing.
Before the event started, the council agreed with the ice rink operators a programme of anticipated reinstatement works which would be required, including replacing plants, turf and grass seeding of lawn areas.
"This work is planned to start as soon as possible after the ice rink ends on January 4. All costs will be covered by the operator, rather than then council.
We are keen to ensure that the Forbury is used by as many, and as wide a variety, of people as possible.
"Where events are run within parks and open spaces, the council will always ensure there is a programme of works in place to rejuvenate areas once events have finished.
"These precautions are commonly put in place by a great many local authorities who host events in parks and open spaces, as well as organisations like the Royal Horticultural Society who successfully manage gardens and run events at the same time.

DILLEY, Texas The Obama administration on Monday unveiled a former oil field workers camp in rural South Texas thats being converted into the nations largest family immigration detention center, as federal authorities brace for the possibility that mothers and children may again come pouring across the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson visited the 50-acre compound featuring 80 tan, two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottages connected by dirt roads and newly laid grass sod in Dilley, about 70 miles southwest of San Antonio.
The first wave of about 30 immigrants will begin arriving in coming weeks and the cabins will eventually hold up to 480 people. Housing being constructed nearby will push capacity to 2,400 by around May.
Advocates say immigrant families are often fleeing drug or gang violence in Central America and should be released to relatives already in the U.S., rather than being locked up. The daily cost of family detention is about $296 per person, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, nearly double the average cost of holding adults as estimated by the National Immigration Forum advocacy group.
Women and children at Dilley will remain until they are deported, released on bond or begin immigration court proceedings that could allow them to stay in the United States. ICE says 70 percent of immigrant families released into the U.S. never showed up for follow-up appointments part of the reason the agency is adding detention capacity.
Dilleys cottages include bunk beds and cribs that can sleep up to eight, a flat-screen TV and a kitchen though cooking is prohibited to prevent fires. The cafeteria is open 12 hours daily and snacks can be had around the clock.
Theres medical care and counselors, trailer classrooms, library and email access and a basketball court and playgrounds all meant to showcase the softer side of immigration detention. Yet Johnson stressed that despite President Barack Obamas recently announced executive actions on immigration, anyone who crossed illegally into the U.S. this year remains a priority for deportation.
This must be clear: Our borders are not open to illegal migration, he said.
Dilley opens as officials are closing a temporary family immigration detention center that, at its height, held about 700 people on the grounds of a law enforcement training center in Artesia, N.M. It opened in June, at the height of a crush of families at the border, while Dilley begins during a lull.
