KENDAL Police have issued a plea to the publicto make sure their sheds and stables are secure following a number of burglaries in the area.
The first burglary occurred at some point between 9am onNovember 16 and 2pm on December 2 at a property on Valley Drive, Kendal. Offenders entered an insecure house and stole a 40inch Sony television.
The second burglary occurred at Birkrigg Park, Stainton, between midnight and 6.30am on December 3. Offenders approached a rural stable yard andforced entry into two stable tack rooms, say police.
They then stole a variety of horse equipment worth over 6000.
The third burglary occurred at a property on Low Park Lane, Endmoor, between 7.30pm onDecember 2 and 8.29am on December 3.Offenders broke a lock to a detached garage and entered but did not steal anything.
Inspector Paul Latham, Kendal Neighbourhood Policing team, said:
Officers are currently investigating a number of burglaries and we ask for anyone with information to get in touch.
Id like to take this opportunity to remind those who hold expensive equipment in sheds, garages or stables to be vigilant in their security processes. Security should not be an after-thought, protecting property now can help to prevent heartache in the future. Investing in security alarms can help deter thieves and help give some peace of mind.

Members of the Hiawatha Pageant Park Commission have created a to do list of things they want to accomplish over the next year.
The list includes items that would establish the park, such as the development of the existing wildlife and nature trail; the development of a butterfly habitat, accomplished by not spraying the milkweed that has established; the completion of research on Club House renovation costs versus building something new; and holding a Clean-up the Park day that community members could participate in, while also cleaning-up the lake of sunken debris and exploring what it would take to stock it with fish.
Meanwhile, the commission also wants to promote usage of the park by holding new events, such as a Fall Fest in October 2015, while reviewing entertainment venues they want to continue to promote or expand.
We have endless opportunities, said Greg Carrow, commission member. We just have to figure out how were going to do everything.
The city of Pipestone took ownership of the former Pageant grounds earlier this year, named it Hiawatha Pageant Park, and convened the seven-member commission that serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on park policies, procedures, usage, maintenance and fundraising.
ome of the changes that have occurred since the commission began meeting has been the approval of signage that would notify the public not to climb on the cliffs, not to hunt in the park and to keep motorized vehicles confined to improved surfaces only. In addition, security lighting has been ordered and the City Council approved funding last month to connect the property to city sewer, instead of the private onsite septic system that currently serves the property. The sewer line was expected to be installed the week of Dec. 1.
Through consensus, the commission also agreed that the Fourth Street entrance would be the parks main entrance, with the more visible Hiawatha Avenue entrance used only for events.
During the commissions latest Nov. 24 meeting, more information was presented on costs for renovating the existing Clubhouse. The commission is considering the best option for the future: a renovation or a tear-down/rebuild.
Scott Swanson, who is also the citys Public Works director, said he had received a ballpark estimate from a contractor that to stud, insulate and sheetrock the Club House, the cost would be under $20,000.
Hell bring prices to a future meeting on different-sized building packages.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga.
A Duluth mother says she found a hidden room of mold in her rental room after an unexplained illness.
As a mom knowing your child was exposed to that, said Cherylyn Woody, the tenant.
The last couple of months she has gone to the pediatrician, she had an inhaler, shes never had problems before, Woody said of her 4-year-old daughter.
In addition, Woody showed Channel 2 Action News lab test results that detected eight fungi in her sinuses. The two moved into the Duluth home about nine months ago.
Woody, who was alarmed, hired a mold inspector from BIO ONE Atlanta to come out and check her rental property on Highland Pine Way.
At first, inspector Paul Cervino says he did not see any problems in the main house or the crawl space.
Upon further investigation I pulled this board right over and we found a room segregated from the rest of the house, Cervino said.
Cervino said the room, hidden behind boards, was out of view.
We noticed there is a flight of stairs that leads into an access point that has recently been covered up with sheet rock and plaster, Cervino said.

The Police have begun formal investigations into the collapse of a restaurant under construction in Cantonments, a suburb of Accra on Saturday.
The incident resulted in the death of one person and twelve others sustained various degrees of injury.
It took a rescue team drawn from the Ghana Police Service, the Military, the National Disaster Management Organization and the Ghana National Fire Service about 12 hours to pull out the body of a carpenter who was trapped under the debris. The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Police Command, ASP Effia Tenge told Citi News they were thirteen in all and one unfortunately found himself under the rubble, the twelve were rescued sent to the hospital then nine of them treated and discharged.
Normally in a rescue operation like this our major objective is to rescue the people who are under the rubble, so immediately when we rushed here that is what we did, she added.
Meanwhile, one of the workers [name withheld] in narrating their ordeal to Citi News said, We were at the top, one of the carpenters was down there then suddenly the building collapsed and we fell down. I was hurt at my knee and bruises on my elbow but the carpenter who was down there died.
We have been building the project for the past one year now. The building is a Lebanese restaurant. I have been working here for the past three months. It was only yesterday that we worked at night, and that happened.

The plumber was flown to hospital after suffering extensive burns. Source: News Limited
A PLUMBER has suffered severe burns following a gas explosion at a Mornington Peninsula school this afternoon.
The man in his 50s received flash burns to his face, arms and legs when the incident happened while he was working at Red Hill Consolidated School.
It is understood the victim, who was engaged by the school, was working on the hot water service and purging gas lines when the system ignited.
Paramedics, fire crews and police were called to the Arthurs Seat Rd school about 5pm.
Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Lisa Hind said the plumber was flown to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
Principal Leanne Marshall said the school communitys thoughts were with the injured man.
She said while some students in after-school care were playing on the oval, the majority of staff and students had left for the day.
Students didnt witness the incident but some are understandably shaken. Weve arranged for specialist counselling support to be available at our school from tomorrow for any student who may need it, Ms Marshall said.
She said the building in which the explosion occurred was deemed safe and has since been cordoned off.
