MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Whether you're looking for a new place to eat or a new job, a brand new restaurant moving in to Market Common just might have what you're searching for.
Tupelo Honey Caf is setting up shop in the former location of Tommy Bahamas. It's bringing in over 100 jobs, and its southern-style of food to those visiting Market Common.
Tupelo Honey Cafe is based out of Asheville, North Carolina, and this will be the chain's first location near a beach.
Elizabeth Sims, vice president of marketing communications for the caf, says construction is running smoothly and the plan is to be open for business at the end of February.
Restaurant leaders say they like to incorporate the local vibe into each restaurant, so for Myrtle Beach, they'll be adding more seafood to the menus. They also want to add some lighter fares, because people here in Market Common want to shop, walk, snack, and then maybe grab dinner. You'll also see local art hanging on their walls.
They're going to hire 130 people. They need this large staff because they have a high-volume restaurant with 250 seats, and they'll serve food seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Sims says the draw to come to Market Common was because there was a good mix of business and residential, and they looked to other businesses that have recently opened and are seeing success.
"Many of our guests that come through the door, they're here for lunch, says Charming Charlie store manager Kate Holmes. We see them shopping and then we see them frequent for dinner. So it's definitely a community setting where they can go and spend the day."
Charming Charlie opened in July and is now seeing more local repeat customers. BarreWorx opened their doors just one month ago. They offer fitness classes, and say they're seeing the same type of strong local support.
Job applications are being accepted right now for Tupelo Honey Caf, and there will be face-to-face interviews in January. You can apply online here: https://tupelohoneycafe.com/careers

It's easier to estimate the cost of new construction than a remodel because it has fewer unknowns.
With a new house, you won't uncover concealed dry rot, twisted framing or a colony of yellow jackets, buzzing behind the lath. In a remodel, you just might.
That said, the home improvement site Houzz has compiled data from its community of users around the country to arrive at average costs for various remodels.
Houzz says, for example, the average cost to remodel a kitchen in Portland runs about $35,275. In Little Rock, Ark., it's $13,913.
For a whole house remodel in Portland, Houzz says the average runs about $221,999 -- a figure that still can buy an attractive house in this market.
As it happens, $221,999 is a little more than Eric and Gretta Marchek paid for a full remodel of their Multnomah Village home, described in Friday's Oregonian: Portlanders like the Marcheks find payoffs in their own houses
The Marcheks qualified for a rehabilitation loan, because they had built up some equity in their house and had improvement plans drawn up by an architect. In the end, Eric Marchek said, the family came out ahead by remodeling.

A tragic story that began with a plumber working on a hotel gas boiler, followed days later by the death by carbon monoxide poisoning of a woman, ended yesterday with a jury finding the plumber and his company not guilty.
Richard Davis, aged 46, from Serenity, Killanully, Ballygarvan, Co Cork, was found not guilty at Cork Circuit Court before Judge Sen O Donnabhin of the manslaughter of Miriam Reidy, 35, and two counts under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
Daviss company, Davis Heating and Plumbing Contractors of Marina Commercial Park in Cork, was found not guilty of two similar health and safety act counts relating to the conversion of a gas boiler at the Trident Hotel on Jan 4, 2011. The jury deliberated for four and a half hours before returning with five not-guilty verdicts.
Defence senior counsel Michael OHiggins claimed several other design and construction issues in the hotel and other matters that pre-dated the installation of the gas boiler were responsible for the poisonous carbon monoxide not disappearing harmlessly into the sky.
Prosecution senior counsel Brendan Grehan claimed Mr Davis incorrectly converted a gas boiler, leaving it spewing out lethal quantities of carbon monoxide.
Mr Davis had gone to the hotel on January 4, 2011 to put a new boiler into use, converting it to allow for use with liquid petroleum gas rather than natural gas by the insertion of a chip. The prosecution claimed he did insert a chip, but it would appear he never read the guidelines that came with the chip; did not carry out any adjustment to the boiler; and did not test it afterwards for a possible leak.
Members of the Reidy family attended the trial and gave evidence. Patricia Reidy-Russell told how she and her sister shared a room at the hotel that night.
They had been at a hen night and most of the group were partying until about 5am. However, Miriam and Patricia left at about 1am, walking back to their hotel. They both became ill and Patricia called a doctor, who treated them for the winter vomiting bug. Pathologist Margaret Bolster testified that the first symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning were more or less the same as those for flu or cold.
Miriam died in the hotel room. Patricia woke a couple of days later in the intensive care unit of Cork University Hospital.
She said: I tried so hard to save her... but the efforts I made were not enough.

The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory has some new lighting coming its way.
Mitch Sheppard, manager of the botanical conservatory, told the Fort Wayne Parks Board on Thursday that the light system in the conservatorys terrace ponds which consist of three overflowing pools of water needs replaced.
Those (lights) have been in place since 1985, and the lighting system, well, we just cant put any more Band-Aids on it and fix it any longer, she said.
Parts for the existing lighting system are no longer made, Sheppard said, and repairs would cost between $25,000 and $27,000. Rather than go that route, Sheppard said the conservatory decided to take a more artistic approach to the fountain lighting.
The new lighting project is expected to cost $50,922 $37,122 to fabricate the structure and $13,800 for the electrical work. The cost of the electrical work will go out for competitive bids, which Sheppard said could lower the overall cost.
The cost of the structure itself is funded jointly through public and private money, Sheppard said. The conservatory has $25,200 in private money for the project and will contribute the remaining $11,922.
The project will sit just below the waterline and consists of a stainless-steel shelf structure crafted to mimic the shape and flow of Fort Waynes three rivers, Sheppard said. The shelf will be topped by various pieces of art glass that would reflect different colors and cause different sorts of shapes of lighting. LED lights will be attached beneath the steel shelf.
On top of fulfilling the lighting requirement and improving safety, Sheppard said the new lighting is more energy efficient than the current system.
The lights we have in there (currently) were designed in the 1970s, she said. They run hot, they take a lot of energy, theyre very dangerous; theyre high voltage, and they also tend to be destroyed by the chlorine thats necessary to keep the pond cool.
Aside from increasing safety and energy efficiency, the new lighting brings a lovely, lovely, cool feature, Sheppard said.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --For over 30 years Green Industry Equipment and Expo (GIE+EXPO), North American's biggest lawn and garden equipment event, has been an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase new and innovative products, this year attracting over 19,000 industry professionals and enthusiasts. One of the most coveted awards of GIE+EXPO is Power Equipment Trade (PET) Magazine's Dealers Choice Awards, which features the top innovative products chosen by dealers.
Briggs & Stratton (NYSE: BGG) was selected by dealers for their super concentrated 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment and Stabilizer in the accessory/attachment category. According to Power Equipment Trade Managing Editor Dan Shell, the Dealers Choice Awards often mirror issues facing the industry. "Three of the accessory nominations were fuel-related products to address ethanol and fuel quality issues, reflecting the fuel quality equipment service problems that many dealers see." With 90% of all fuel sold in the U.S. made of an ethanol blend, Briggs & Stratton's Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment offers complete protection against the harmful effects of ethanol-blended fuel up to E-10 on small gasoline engines found on a variety of outdoor power equipment.
Briggs & Stratton's proprietary formula is the only innovation on the market that protects and maintains fuel stability for up to 3 years. "Briggs & Stratton Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment and Stabilizer was introduced in 2011 and has been helping consumers maintain quality and protect the life span of their small gasoline engines ever since," says Briggs & Stratton Service Marketing Coordinator, Andrew Ewig. "The recognition by leading industry professionals and dealers just reiterates the product's effectiveness."
PET solicited product nominations from exhibitors and selected five finalists in each of the five categories including: accessory/attachment, business management services, handheld, industrial/engine and wheeled. Qualified dealers participated through an online ballot system and in-person voting at the show. This year more than 1,000 lawn and garden power equipment dealers participated in the ninth annual awards.
Briggs & Stratton Corporation, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the world's largest producer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment. Its wholly owned subsidiaries include North America's number one marketer of portable generators and pressure washers, and it is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of lawn and garden, turf care and job site products through its Simplicity, Snapper, Ferris, Murray, Allmand, Branco and Victa brands. Briggs & Stratton products are designed, manufactured, marketed and serviced in over 100 countries on six continents.
