With home security becoming easier to get hold of, one small issue remains. There are solutions popular ones, too but home security cameras are still fussy, and often require a heft investment. Manythings doesnt ask that you make any kind of big investment, though. In fact, Manythings is a free app, with free cloud recording, and works with a device you may already have. Could it really replace the home security camera, though? For many, it just might, and might even be a better option.

Manythings isnt a hardware solution at all its an app. Free to download via iTunes, Manythings makes itself available to just about any iDevice you have so long as its running iOS 6 or later. If youve got the hardware, youve got a home security camera.

A good one, too.

The Manythings app has quite a bit of features, and is a pretty impressive piece of kit when you consider its totally free. You can create motion detection, and even adjust the sensitivity of alerts. Manythings also lets you draw custom detection zones, so you wont be bothered with a cat that mulls about on the couch. Livestreaming is also available.

If you cleverly position Manythings, you can also take advantage of both the front and rear cameras on your device.

As far as granular controls are concerned, Manythings is pretty impressive. You can turn audio on or off, control the flashlight feature, and even remotely start your camera with the latest update. Their cloud storage options are also really nice, with a 12-hour recorded stream being made available for free. If you add more devices to your account, or a longer recording timeframe, a monthly fee may apply. Manythings tells us theyre still working on pricing, and are currently sourcing feedback.

With their IFTTT channel, Manythings makes sure youll be able to better automate your home automation! You can triggeryour livestream, kick Manythings on when your Nest smoke alarm goes off, and even stop streaming when you get home.

The downside? Manythings requires you to mount or prop your phone up, and has no wall-mount to speak of. Its also dependent on your devices power, so the short Lightning cable you got with your iDevice might not work so well if you want it at the top of a bookcase. You can, of course, go wireless; youll just have to plug your stuff in now and then (more now that then).

The security forces have recommended Ministry of Home Affairs to issue a two-day public holiday notice to facilitate security arrangements in the capital, during the 18th summit of the South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation (SAARC) being held on November 26, 27.

According to Home Ministry spokesperson Laxmi Dhakal, the decision will be implemented after the Cabinet passes the recommendation forwarded by the Ministry.

The security agencies claim that such decision will facilitate the management of security during the summit, which is of primary concern to all authorities.

Likewise, a recommendation has also been made to issue a four-day holiday to the public and private schools in the valley to ease traffic rush during the summit.

The government has, however, decided not to issue public holidays in Lumbini and Janakpur -- the two areas designated for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.

The district based security forces and other local authorities have been given the responsibility to make necessary arrangements -security and others -- during Modi's visit.

Meanwhile, a high-level security team under Army General Pawan Bahadur Pande has already completed inspection visits of Lumbini, Janakpur and Muktinath--the venues proposed for Modi's visit during the SAARC summit.

The team comprised Nepal Police AIG Ganesh Raj Rai and DIG Devendra Subedi; APF AIG Singha B Shrestha and DIG Prem Kumar Shahi; and joint-secretary at Home Ministry Ganga Bahadur Chhetri.

Nepal is hosting the SAARC Summit for the third time.
