Settle into the joys of the Sie FilmCenter: Theatrical home to the Denver Film Society's year-round programming, the three-screen Sie is the loveliest theater in town. That would be cause for celebration enough, but it also shares a complex with two of the city's finest culture-vulture establishments: Twist & Shout music trove and the Tattered Cover Book Store. There's a parking garage. The eats nearby are plentiful. Have a cocktail at Henderson's Lounge, named for Ron Henderson, co-founder of the whole shebang. My haven away from the crowds? Cafe Max on East Colfax between Josephine and Columbine streets. Bring a fest ticket stub during happy hour and they'll hook you up with a discount on select wines and beers. Sie FilmCenter, 2510 E. Colfax Ave.
Spending time on the red-carpet? The Buell Theatre, located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, serves as red-carpet central this year. If you headed to "5 to 7," "The Imitation Game," or closing night's "Like Sunday, Like Rain," you're in luck. There's a parking garage at the complex. Food and drinks high-end and humble abound. Some faves within a five-minute stroll: The Corner Office in the Curtis Hotel, Backstage Coffee, and Limelight Supper Club and Lounge.
Take advantage of the pleasures of the Pavilions. Since the film society's move from the Auraria campus, this multiplex on the 16th Street Mall has turned out to be a tremendous boon. It allows for congregating, which is essential to the fest-going experience. There's four-hour validated parking for the theaters. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Personal faves: Novo Coffee on Glenarm between 16th and 17th and Cook's Fresh Market on Glenarm and 16th. Maggiano's and Lime cantina are both at the Pavilions. New additions to try: Grimaldi's pizzeria. Hoping the plant-based chain Native Foods opens in time. The UA Denver Pavilions, 500 16th St.

Die 2014er Formula Renault 3.5-Boliden in rFactor 2
Image Space Inc.
u#rFactor 2 Build 880-Changelog:#u GRAPHICS: -Fixed terrain shader specularity issue. -Fixed wet surface reflections. -Lightened up shadows by artificially boosting ambient light level. -Fix problem seeing steering wheel in rear look under certain conditions. -Some code to help with blurry rims.
HUD/COMMENTARY: -Re-recorded commentary with a MASSIVE volume boost (You might want to adjust your settings)
BUG FIXES/OPTIMIZATIONS: -Fixed auto update bug for expired accounts -Fixed a very minor memory leak. -Several minor stability fixes. -Removed requirement for "_x64? to be added to 64-bit plugins. It's no longer a problem because they are in a separate directory. However, it still might be useful to for humans to identify which is which. -Added a new default method for assigning pit/garage spots in multiplayer which keeps them more consistent over a weekend. This new default method can be disabled by changing the multiplayer.json value "Assign Parking? to false (at which point it will revert to using the traditional team-based pit/garage assignments). -Fixed issue where driver body sometimes appears while rear-looking. -Minor fixes to prevent crash when exiting from "rF2 already running? condition -Fixed random black box that appears when hitting ?`' key -Dealing with some uninitialized data in old TGMs that is now actually used.
AI: -Smoothed out the corner widening associated with rcd parameter UnderSteerEffectOnLineThreshold trigger as well as with rear grip loss. Made the rate of "corner widening? relative either to the car's lateral velocity or lateral position relative to current waypoint direction. -Pace cars now look for a path called "PACECAR? to drive, otherwise defaults to fastest path. -Fixed AI tire drag calculation -Slightly better AI bumpstop damping. -Fixed a bug in AI logic that could result in cars taking high speed corners a bit too fast and wide.

If you are a fan of spontaneity, it may disappoint you to learn that the Black Keys played the exact same set Saturday at KeyArena as they did on Friday in Portland and Vancouver the night before that. The benefit of all that repetition was easy to see, however, as the band turned in an impressive marathon of some of its biggest hits that was on point from start to finish.
With an explosive drum beat, the band announced itself with the brassy clamor of Dead and Gone, from 2011s El Camino. The song set up the effective interplay between drummer Patrick Carney and guitarist Dan Auerbach, who started the band in Akron, Ohio in 2001.
These days the longtime collaborators are joined by bassist Richard Swift and multi-instrumentalist John Wood, welcome additions who help round out the sound. Their presence paid dividends immediately on songs such as the windy and driving Run Right Back and Same Old Thing, a highlight off the 2008 album Attack and Release.
By the time they got to their platinum, Danger Mouse-produced megahit Gold on the Ceiling, the Black Keys were rolling. Auerbach used a searing guitar attack to turn the song into a snarling version of its shiny studio counterpart.
That became a theme throughout the night, as Auerbach turned his amps up to 11 and let them roar. There was not a lot of subtlety to the show. He wielded his guitar like a buzz saw, cutting through the garage-blues riffs of Leavin Trunk, from the bands debut album The Big Come Up, and the jangling Howlin for You.
Fever, a new song from this years Turn Blue, benefited from one of the Keys rare moments of restraint. Unfortunately, it was the only new song that really hit the mark.
Most of the crowd would have been satisfied if Lonely Boy, another hit from El Camino that finished as Billboards top rock song in 2012, had been the final number. After a long pause the band came out for another three songs, including two more subdued ones from Turn Blue.
They finished with Little Black Submarines, which began as a tender singalong. However, the Black Keys couldnt help themselves and ended up creating one more guitar-hero moment.

The Denver Botanic Gardens gets credit for bringing the city closer to nature, but its reverence for man-made objects has been equally important over the years. The gardens' buildings were designed by a who's who of the city's best architects.
Jules Jacques Benedict's 1922 Waring House with its graceful Tudor touches. The boldly modernist Boettcher Conservatory, created by Victor Hornbein and Edward D, White Jr. in 1966. David Owen Tryba's remarkable 2009 parking garage, fully integrated into the landscape. These are some of Denver's superstar structures.
The Denver Botanic Gardens has undergone several changes to its space, including the new $6 million Science Pyramid next to the sunken concert area. (Cyrus McCrimmon, The Denver Post)
Ben Niamthet's new Science Pyramid recognizes the tradition and understands what makes it great. The overall shape the pyramid is nearly as old as architecture itself. But like the designers before him, Niamthet tapped present-day engineering and aesthetic ideas to make it a building of its time.
The pyramid concept was actually the gardens' idea, specified in guidelines sent out for the design competition Niamthet won. Its master plan overseen by Tryba called for the form as a complement to both the classical statues and fountains that dot the 24-acre grounds, and the giant, flat-sided bowl next to it where the gardens presents its popular summer concert series.
The pyramid is an inversion of the bowl as if the mass that was within it was scooped out in one swoop and laid on its back.
Niamthet had his own ideas for a building that could house whiz-bang displays that teach about plant life in remote parts of the world. He conjured a 5,000-square-foot structure that appears to be rising out of the ground like a mountain, pressed into being by the grind of the Earth's tectonic plates. Like many of Colorado's tallest ridges, the building has an irregular outline; it is fractured down the middle, a design move that allowed for an uninterrupted slot of daylight to enter the building
The new modern bistro The Hive is next to the Monet Pool at the gardens.
"We didn't want to it to become just a four-sided triangle," said Niamthet, a principal at Denver's Burkett Design. "We wanted to make it something a little abstract to fit in with current architecture."
Niamthet "pushed and pulled" his pyramid into an object with 17 facets. It looks different from every angle and even takes on a ship-like bearing as it slips into the pond that surrounds it on the west side.

Renovation work continues at Burger King at 2105 W. Springfield Ave. in Champaign on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014.

The Burger King franchise in the Champaign-Urbana and Danville area is becoming a Whopper.
Maruti Seth, president of the Danville-based Group 2029 franchise, started out with three stores in Danville 11 years ago.
He gradually expanded to nine stores, adding two locations in Champaign and one each in Urbana, Savoy, Rantoul and Tuscola.
On Oct. 21, the franchise added 12 new stores, largely in the Bloomington-Normal and Peoria areas. It acquired those from the previous franchisee, Downers Grove-based Heartland Foods.
Most of the new stores are along the Interstate 74 and 55 corridors, Seth said, noting they include three in Bloomington-Normal, two in Peoria and one each in East Peoria, Canton, Pekin, Morton, Pontiac, Wenona and Dwight.
Seth said remodeling of the Burger King at 2105 W. Springfield Ave., C, should finish some time early this month.
When complete, the dining room will have new floors and tiles, LED lights, soft-seating booths and a Coke Freestyle beverage center offering more than 120 flavor combinations of soft drinks.
