MOSCOW, August 13 (RIA Novosti) - A second case of Tularemia, also known as rabbit fever, has been registered in the US state of Colorado, the Associated Press reports citing state health officials.
A Larimer county resident was infected in July while mowing a lawn, according to Larimer and Weld county health officials. The patient was taken to the hospital in early August after two antibiotic treatment regimens proved unsuccessful, but has since returned home.
The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment says the first case of the disease was reported on July 16 in the city of Broomfield, which was also struck by a rabbit die-off.
Tularemia is an infectious disease spread between humans and animals, with symptoms ranging from swollen lymph nodes, to fever and sore throat. Rodents such as rabbits, hares, beavers and muskrats, are the principal carriers of the disease.
The infection is typically transmitted to hunters butchering infected animals. Human susceptibility to tularemia is extremely high, and without early treatment, the disease can be life-threatening.
The United States experienced Tularemia outbreaks in Massachusetts in 1978 and 2000. Generally, there are 100-150 reported cases of the disease each year in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Welcome to a battle of the galas.
In one corner: New York City Center, for 70 years a Midtown theater with two stages and Moorish decor left over from its original tenant, the Shriners, who built the place in the 1920s.
In the other corner, Park Avenue Armory, for seven years an ever-morphing stage and arts space inside an Upper East Side building created circa 1880 for the Seventh Regiment of the New York militia.
Both organizations present theater, dance and music, and did so at their galas this week. Both run education programs for school children, which were highlighted at their galas. Both have leaders in finance on their boards and as patrons, who came out for the galas. Only one will win this battle.
Who was there: At the Park Avenue Armory were Bill Ackman of Pershing Square Capital, Dan Stern of Reservoir Capital, Thomas H. Lee of Lee Equity Partners, Alexander Navab of KKR, Len Blavatnik, Lyor Cohen, Mortimer Zuckerman, and so many more so spread out in that vast drill hall it was hard to keep track.
At City Center were Peter J. Solomon, Mark Kingdon of Kingdon Capital, Stacy Bash-Polley of Goldman Sachs, and Nancy Peretsman of Allen & Co. Pablo Salame, whos on the management committee at Goldman Sachs, was a bit self-conscious about wearing a tuxedo when everyone else was in suits (poor guy, he had to wear a tux the next night too to Elton Johns AIDS foundation gala).
Eric Mindich of Eton Park Capital sat with theater producers Robert and Mindy Rich, who are bringing the new musical Honeymoon in Vegas to Broadway, and his wife, Stacey Mindich, co-chairman of City Center, whose credits include Annie. (By the way, their three sons loved Annie and spent a lot of time with Sandy the dog, she said.)
Id call this a draw -- as props must be given to all people who go to galas, period, including the 500 guests at City Center and 800 at the Armory -- but I am giving the point to the Armory. The reason: Ackmans hoot of a disclosure that he once dressed as SpongeBob SquarePants to a Halloween street party with his kids. According to his wife, the kids ran away in embarrassment.
Ackman also gets a point for generosity: Pershing Square Capital and the Pershing Square Foundation signed on as a sponsor of the Armory for the next three seasons, a $1.5 million commitment.
On the matter of showcasing arts education: Director Peter Sellars, who was honored by the Park Avenue Armory, spoke of meeting kids from Brooklyn whove attended his performances at the venue. He also spoke of the importance of art education in a rather grand manner.

Landscaping refers to any activity that modifies the visible features of an area of land, including:
Landscaping requires expertise in horticulture and artistic design.
Construction requires study and observation. It is not the same in different parts of the world. Landscaping varies according to different regions.[1] Therefore normally local natural experts are recommended if it is done for the first time. Understanding of the site is one of the chief essentials for successful landscaping. Different natural features like terrain, topography, soil qualities, prevailing winds, depth of the frost line, and the system of native flora and fauna must be taken into account.[2] Sometimes the land is not fit for landscaping. In order to landscape it, the land must be reshaped. This reshaping of land is called grading.[2]
Removal of earth from the land is called cutting while when earth is added to the slope, it is called filling. Sometimes the grading process may involve removal of excessive waste, soil and rocks, so designers should take into account while in the planning stage.[3][4]
In the start, the landscaping contractor makes a letter which is a rough design and layout of what could be done with the land in order to achieve the desired outcome.[2] Different pencils are required to make graphics of the picture. Landscaping has become more technological than natural, as few projects begin without bulldozers, lawnmowers, or chainsaws.[1][5] Different areas have different qualities of plants. Fertilizers are required for this purpose in excess amounts as natural landscaping is done. Some landscapers prefer to use Mix gravel with rocks of varying sizes to add interest in large areas.[6]

The landscape beneath the feet of 6A football teams across the state of Tennessee is getting ready to shift dramatically with a new playoff system on tap for next season.
But tonight, on All Hallow's Eve, Dobyns-Bennett and Science Hill find themselves standing on familiar ground.
Week 10, Indians vs. Hilltoppers, Big 7 Conference title up for grabs.
"It's always exciting to play Science Hill, especially with a conference title on the line," D-B coach Graham Clark said. "They're obviously a very talented football team, but we're excited about our football team, too."
Both teams have plenty to be proud of this season. The Indians (8-1, 5-0) have knocked off plenty of quality opponents, as have the Hilltoppers (8-1, 5-0).
But in both Kingsport and Johnson City, one game looms larger than the rest, and after Science Hill managed to end a 19-game losing streak to Dobyns-Bennett by scoring a 35-24 victory at J. Fred Johnson Stadium a year ago, the Tribe will be looking to reassert its dominance tonight.
But Clark doesn't believe his players will be consumed with a desire for revenge when the Indians descend upon Kermit Tipton Stadium.
"Kids have very short memories," Clark said. "They have much shorter memories than we do. They're able to go to the next play, the next game and move on.
