A new flea market with room for more than 600 vendors is slated to open Nov. 15 in Margate.

Coconuts Flea Market will open for business at the former Saveology Plaza along Coconut Creek Parkway.

Sid Moskin, a commercial real estate developer, said he's investing upward of $1 million remodeling the plaza that used to house Saveology, a company providing deals on shopping, dining and other goods and services.

"It's the ideal facility, ideal parking situation and the timing is right because we are opening right at the beginning of season," said Moskin, who along with his wife, Karen, will be managing the flea market.

Coconuts Flea Market will be on 20 acres of land and offer more than 1,300 parking spots, Moskin said.

About 10 food trucks are also scheduled to be on site to serve hungry shoppers, he said. The flea market will open Wednesday through Sunday and host vendors selling new and used goods such as jewelry, shoes and luggage.

Coconuts Flea Market will rent tables, kiosks and other spaces to merchants on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, Moskin said. Rates range from $20 to $40, depending on space.

"They can sell anything as long as it's legal," Moskin said.

Coconuts Flea Market will be at 5259 Coconut Creek Parkway.

Despite widespread word throughout the community, the future site of Corner Brook Intermediate is still on schedule to open this academic school year.

A spokesperson for the Department of Transportation and Works confirmed Friday the hope is expansion and redevelopment of the former Regina High School will be completed in time for a January opening.

All students of the former G.C. Rowe and Presentation junior highs are currently together in the former G.C. Rowe Junior High, which was renovated to accommodate the amalgamation on an interim basis.

The project at the future location experienced some delays, but an email statement from the department said good progress is being made on the interior and exterior of the facility.

The biggest delay has been with respect to the application of a fire-proofing product in the insulation. The wrong material was put in. This issue has been ongoing for some time. According to the spokesperson, discussions with the contractor are ongoing and it is hoped the issue is resolved shortly.

Exterior work underway includes paving of the upper parking lot and coating the cement board and painting of the wall extension on the roof to match the siding. Interior work is focused on the basement and first floor, while the second floor is nearly complete. This work includes installation of kitchen equipment and light fixtures and painting and flooring.

No one was made available from the Department of Transportation and Works for an interview on the subject.

Pat Hickey, former chair of the G.C. Rowe school council, said he has heard the rumours in the community, but said there has been nothing to substantiate claims the new location would not be ready for a move this school year. He said all updates he has received indicate a late December or January move.

I dont know where people are getting their information, he said. Do people really think the provincial government and the school board would deceive the school council on information related to the project?

BOSTON Because of post-game interview requests, the last two players to leave the Avalanche dressing room at TD Garden on Monday were new additions Jarome Iginla and Daniel Briere. Briere, whose 53 career playoff goals are tied for 45th most all-time, scored with a half-second left in regulation to give Colorado a much-needed goal and two points, their first triumph of the young seasons. Some observations: If Reto Berra is a problem, hes a good problem to have. At this rate, Varlys backup will make more starts than any of us anticipated a month ago. Berra has been berry, berry good since his first preseason start my pick as No. 1 star Monday. Say what you want about Nathan MacKinnon, maybe the NHLs fastest skater, playing with 30-somethings Alex Tanguay and Briere. Too much speed paired with too much age? The line produced the shift of the game Monday. The Avs have improved after every game this season, which is good because the opener, of course, was a horror show. They played much better in the second game against Minnesota and Mondays win at Boston was their best performance of the season. Defenseman Ryan Wilson missed most of the third period to an apparent concussion, after being struck in the head by a puck. I thought Wilson was hit in the midsection, because he tried to stretch or shake it off, and lined up for a defensive-zone faceoff immediately after. But he was clearly uncomfortable and, the more I think about it, he could have been completely out of it, not knowing what was going on. Zach Redmond or Nate Guenin will replace Wilson on Tuesday. The boom box was blaring in the Avs locker room after the game, always a difficult environment to record conversations but nevertheless easier to do your job.

For months I've been referring to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as More Borderlands or, occasionally, Morederlands Borderlands. That's still an apt description. Other possible titles could be Borderlands: The Largest Borderlands 2 Expansion orBorderlands 2 in Space.

That's what The Pre-Sequel is at its core. Just more Borderlands 2.

Borderlands is the latest franchise to fall prey to what I think we can now safely call an industry trendstopgap games. In other words, "Our new game won't be ready for an extra year, what do we do?" syndrome. Other privileged members of this club include Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Batman: Arkham Origins, and (going back a few years) Call of Duty: World at War.

With the "main" product still in development, a secondary studio is called in to create something to keep the franchise relevant and make a bit of cash while also (hopefully) not screwing everything up in the meantime.

Merely charged with regurgitating what's already popular while the primary studio works on something actually innovative, these games are inevitably just retreads of what we've already played with enough story hooks to keep core fans interested and maybe one or two new features. Arkham Origins had the audacity to place you on the exact same map as Arkham City except everything was Christmas themed. Revelations had that hook-thing that made you a bit more nimble while climbing, but otherwise felt like just another Assassin's Creed II expansion.

In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel it's the ability to jump higher. This latest iteration of Gearbox's loot-driven shooter series takes place story-wise between Borderlands and Borderlands 2 and explores the rise of the second game's villain Handsome Jack. Rather than fighting on the planet of Pandora as in the last two games, this time you're going to the moonthus the low gravity.

You'll also have to monitor your oxygen levels, as most outside areas don't have an atmosphere. And there are now laser guns.

In just two (short) paragraphs I've listed literally every new feature in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Sure, plenty of work has gone into this piece of content in terms of writing, voiceovers, et cetera. It's definitely long enough to be considered a "full game," whatever that means, and it's backed by a full story and new lore. I also really enjoy the way low gravity opens up the level design, adding more verticality and allowing you to scale some truly impressive structures.

But it plays everything so safe, it's impossible to think of The Pre-Sequel as anything but a long expansion pack. It's not just the same engine as Borderlands 2it's the same enemies, the same sorts of environments, the same everything. Oh, except these skags are white and are called kraggons, and the raiders now wear little transparent masks over their faces to breathe in space. Oh, and smaller enemies are now called "Lil Raider" and "Lil Lunatic" because Gearbox apparently realized the word midget is perhaps not the kindest term to throw around.

Even two of the classes feel like thin re-skins of old games. Athena throws her shield almost the same way I used to throw Bloodwing, and Wilhelm is clearly the heavy weapons class just like Roland and Axton. Nisha's Lawbringer class, a play on her role as the Sheriff in Borderlands 2, lets her lock onto enemies without aiming, but it's a relatively useless skill and actually is worse to use on a PC because it's faster to line up headshots than to auto-aim body shots.

The Longhorns are coming off a surprisingly successful season last year, as some unexpectedly strong play from several underclassmen led Texas to a Round of 32 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

This off-season the Longhorns added even more young talent as Myles Turner, the second best prospect in the nation according to ESPN.com, committed to play for Rick Barnes. Texas also added power forward Jordan Barnett, another ESPN100 guy, and Shaquille Cleare, a center who transferred over from Maryland.

Here are three Texas basketball story lines to get you ready for Wednesday's Big 12 media day in Kansas City, Mo.

1. High expectations.Aside from sophomore guard Martez Walker, who was dismissed from the team after being charged with assault, everyone from last year's squad is back in 2014. Led by Johnathan Holmes, the only senior on scholarship, the Longhorns landed second, just behind Kansas, in the Big 12 preseason coaches poll earlier this month. Turner will likely find his way into the starting lineup, and the addition of Barnett and Cleare will add depth to an already solid Texas bench. The return of so many players from last year's upstart bunch, combined with a few talented additions, has some touting the Longhorns as a team with potential to make a deep run in this year's NCAA tournament.

2. Freshman Phenom.From the moment he signed at Texas, the pressure has been mounting on Myles Turner. The incoming freshman center is already being labeled as the best Rick Barnes recruit since Kevin Durant and some outlets have him as a potential top-ten pick at next year's NBA Draft. After an illustrious career at Trinity High School in the DFW area, a lot is expected of Turner in his first season as a Longhorn. His length, athleticism and shooting range make it easy to compare the Bedford, Texas native to Durant. But if he is even just half as productive as Durant was in his lone year in burnt orange, Turner's first (and probably only) year on the 40 Acres will be considered a success.

3. Posts aplenty.If you haven't already noticed, Texas didn't lose any big men this off-season, but it added three more to an already crowded front court. Holmes, who spent last season playing the power forward position for the Longhorns, will likely move to small forward, but it will still be difficult to find playing time for each of Texas' post players. Juniors Cam Ridley and Prince Ibeh are expected to share time with Cleare at the center position while Turner, Barnett and junior Connor Lammert will probably rotate at the power forward spot. Barnes' will love having so much depth, but don't be surprised to see a couple players fall out of the crowded rotation by season's end.

Three Texas Longhorns basketball storylines heading into Big 12 media days

Investigators think both men planned to buy and sell large amounts of high grade marijuana. They arrested a 44-year-old man in Wausau Friday afternoon.

Investigators then served search warrants in the city of Wausau, Town of Rib Mountain, and Town of Guenther. They then arrested a 43-year-old Wausau man.

Dustin Gottschalk left the jail Friday morning around 11:00 a.m. He was supposed to go to work at Ski's Meat Market on Rib Mountain Drive. Gottschalk was due back at the jail by 7:00 Friday evening, but did not return.

Hunters usually set their stands in trees 12 to 20 feet tall. People have been seriously hurt or even died from the fall.

"Even in Oneida County, we've had incidents where we've had people fall out of tree stands and die as a result of their injuries," said DNR conservation warden Jim Jung. "I believe it was three or four years ago. In Piehl Township, we had that occur; [a] hunter fell out of a stand."

Paul Loucks of Weston and Ted Wasson of Rhinelander appeared in court today.

Wasson is a registered sex offender.

He was convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child in 2004.

Both arrests were part of a statewide sting targeting online predators.

The criminal complaint says the Oneida County Sheriff's Office pretended to be a young girl and a young girl's mother.

The age of a heating or cooling system can affect the price of installing a replacement, since removal and modifications can range in complexity. Replacing a system less than 5 years old generally requires little modification unless you are changing fuels, and may cost about $814. An 8 year old appliance may cost $1127 to replace, while replacing any system over 10 years old costs an average of $1378. Old heating and cooling systems may require extensive labor to dismantle and remove, and needed upgrades to ductwork or plumbing can add to overall costs. Converting to a new heating method can be a complex and expensive addition to your project as well, since switching from radiators or ducts to radiant tubing or baseboard heat may require substantial modifications to your home.

The type of fuel you will use for your new heating or cooling system is an important factor of installation costs. For new installations, wiring, venting, and supply lines can usually be run easily during construction, and fitting a replacement system that can use existing connections is generally straight forward. Installing a natural gas system may cost about $1177, while other units average $1148 for propane installations, $1386 for oil, and $814 for electric. Converting to a new fuel source for a replacement system may involve several modifications to your home, so be sure to confirm whether your installer will perform or contract for any needed changes or if you will need to hire additional contractors to handle any wiring or plumbing upgrades.

The type, age, and fuel of your existing system are important factors in selecting and installing a replacement, just as similar considerations are important in new installations. Your contractor can help you choose a system that is appropriate for your home and plan for conversions, modifications, or upgrades that may be needed for its operation.
