Provide AutoCAD drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining instrumentation drawings. May recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification. Produce complex technical drawings and documentation including preparation of the Instrument Index, Instrument Location Plans, Instrument Loop Sheets, Wiring Diagrams, junction box layouts, installation details, preparation of data sheets, and input to the project P&IDs associated with in-house projects. Coordinates with engineers and other designers to produce drawings in accordance with a client's needs.

Prepare working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product. Prepare and assemble project deliverables.

Works as part of project team handling miscellaneous small and large projects.

Ability to develop design drawing package and provide oversight to other designers and draftsman.

Assists in the collection of data on manpower, man-hour and labor costs requirements for design staff to aid in evaluating the budget.

Check drawings for technical accuracy and compliance with codes, regulations and client requirements.

Occasional site visit to client power plants, chemical plants, and refineries may be required.

Must be familiar with instrumentation and DCS/PLC hardware.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- A little over a decade after buying a Grand Rapids area franchise of Fish Window Cleaning Service Inc., Randy Cross has been hired to lead the company.

Cross was named president of the St. Louis-based company, which is the largest window cleaning franchise in the country. Fish provides service to more than 200,000 commercial and residential customers nationwide, the company said.

Cross plans to keep his Fish franchise location, at 2990 Franklin Ave. SW in Grandville, while leading a staff of 25 to support 250 franchise locations and develop new territories.

Other than decisions of faith and family, joining Fish Window Cleaning has been one of the best decisions of my life, said Cross. I look forward to continuing to help others realize their dreams of business ownership and the freedom and flexibility it can provide in their lives.

One reason Cross was drawn to the Fish franchise: he wouldn't have to work nights, weekends or holidays, which allowed him to have a balanced life with time for his family and volunteering. Before buying the franchise, he was a sales operation manager at Computer Products And Resources.

"I do not let business dominate my life and going back to faith, I believe I have been rewarded for that," said Cross, 44, who graduated from Grand Rapids' Creston High School in 1988 and from Hope College, in Holland, four years later.

Two years after Cross bought the Grand Rapids Fish franchise, he was named Franchisee of the Year in 2005.

Cross says franchising has been a good fit for him because it is about following systems and processes, which is his strong suit.

"My wife likes to tease me that I wont deviate from a recipe when cooking. That same trait helps make me a successful franchise owner," said Cross. "The skills I have taken from the experience of being a business owner will help me in my new role leading Fish Window Cleaning."

He began working for the corporate office in 2008, recruiting franchise prospects as part of the franchise development team, and more recently, leading Fish's franchise support staff.

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (WHNT) The Jackson County Commission is hearing from experts on whether to cut down a nearly century-old tree in the courthouse yard, but residents are voicing their concerns in opposition of the move.

Caution tape blocks off a good portion of the Jackson County Courthouse lawn, causing visitors to walk out of their way to go around it. County leaders say that caution tape is necessary though, because limbs from a tree estimated to be between 80 to 100 years old have already started falling, which they say is a safety hazard.

Since then, the County Commission has been speaking with multiple experts to determine if that tree, a Norway Maple, needs to come down. Commission Chair Matthew Hodges says it looks as if that will have to be the case. Weve actually had the same results come back from several folks, Hodges says.

Hodges says many residents voiced their concerns about the decision to cut the tree down, citing the trees age and rarity. Experts say most trees of that variety in this particular environment dont live to be that old. Hodges says the Commission has taken those concerns into consideration.

Thats what kind of spurred us to look a little further into asking some more folks about it, Hodges says.

However because its been in Scottsboro for nearly a century, the Commission wants to do what it can to keep part of it in the community. Whether we can do seedlings or take some things from this tree, for some local art culture or things like that, Hodges says. They also plan to plant another tree of the same kind, or seedling from the old tree in the same area.

The Commission says the tree will most likely be cut down in the next couple of weeks.
