And so on.
WINDOW UPDATE: The decision on the waiver for the Junior League was deferred three weeks on a 6-4 vote so that a mediator could be used to see if opposing side can reach an agreement. FOR MORE ON THIS DEBATE: GO TO THE JUMP:
SCHOOL UPDATE: As expected the vote for Jacksonville to separate from the Pulaski County School District was a runaway, 3,767 to 218.
In the Little Rock School District, both incumbents on the ballot were defeated.
ZONE 1
Incumbent Norma Jean Johnson 227 Joy C. Springer 483
ZONE 5
Incumbent Jody Carreiro 221 Jim Ross 379
Victories by Ross and Springer alter the current majority dynamic of the board significantly and particularly complicate matters for Superintendent Dexter Suggs.
Re school votes: I note that 1,000 of those Jacksonville voters didn't cast a vote in favor of the property tax millage, compared with the vote on the Jacksonville school separation. It's meaningless. No increase was on the ballot and the millage continues, approved or not. But it's a measure of something when people want their schools separated but don't necessarily want to vote taxes to support them. Overall, however, the millage was approved, which is unusual in Pulaski County.

A carbon monoxide leak at North Mac Elementary School in Girard, Illinois sent 140 people to the hospital on Monday, according to WICS, an ABC affiliate in Springfield, Illinois.
Reports stated that students and staff members began feeling sick and were evacuated from the building.
In Illinois and Iowa, schools are not required to install carbon monoxide detectors, although homeowners are. Connecticut and Maryland are the only two states to require carbon monoxide detectors inside schools.
It is an odorless, tasteless gas; unless you have a detector, youre not going to know its even there, Jeni Rochholz said, a service tech for Crawford Company Heating and Cooling.
CO is found in combustion fumes, such as those produced by cars and trucks, stoves, lanterns, burning charcoal and wood and heating symptoms.
Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include: nausea, weakness, lightheartedness, vomiting, chest pain and confusion. CO levels between 10-15 ppm, or parts-per million, can be lethal, Jeni said.
When temperatures begin to cool in the fall, Jenis job is critical: ensure there isnt carbon monoxide leaking from her clients furnaces. She said carbon monoxide, scientifically referred to as CO, occurs when carbon in fuel is not burned completely.
On Tuesday, News 8 found that the following schools currently have carbon monoxide detectors: Rock Island Schools and Pleasant Valley Schools.
Officials with Bettendorf and North Scott Schools stated they dont have carbon monoxide detectors.
Moline Schools dont have carbon monoxide detector; however, Dr. David Moyer said the schools dont use gas heating.

At Fort Bonifacio
Century Properties Group, Inc. (CPG) and Asian Carmakers Corp. (ACC), the exclusive distributor and importer of BMW products in the Philippines, held last Sept. 8 the first concrete pouring of their joint development, the Asian Century Center office building in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
Early this year, Century Properties announced that it has allocated over P1 billion for the construction of the said Grade A office building project, which is being developed in partnership with the Asian Carmakers Corporation of Jose Ch. Alvarez.
Rising at 27th Street on 3rd and 4th Avenues of Fort Bonifacio, Asian Century Center will house the largest BMW showroom in the Philippines. The building will have 23 floors.
The modern office building is designed with energy efficient features and will cater to a 24-hour working schedule as it targets corporate and business process outsourcing firms as future locators. It will also have sky gardens, a Sky Bar, a caf, conference facilities, and recreational amenities.
Asian Century Center is Century Properties third project in the city of Taguig, and is in line with the companys diversification strategy as it ventures into the commercial leasing business.
Its two previous developments in Fort Bonifacio are the successful Essensa East Forbes luxury condominium towers and the South of Market residential building.

Courtesy of FHDA The Foothill-De Anza Community College District plans to consolidate administrative staff in a single building.
Regular visitors to the Foothill College campus over the past few years are familiar with dust, work crews and sidewalk detours, a bustling construction boom due in large part to Measure C a $491 million bond local voters passed in 2006 to fund construction, equipment and technology in the Foothill-De Anza Community College District.
In addition to the new Physical Sciences & Engineering Center, improvements have included classroom modernization, photovoltaic system installation and circulation upgrades across the campus. One additional building, a 24,000-square-foot administrative office near parking Lot 7, is scheduled to break ground in December 2015.
The original Measure C project list included a remodel of the aging District Office Building. Upon evaluating the plan at a meeting last year, senior officials determined that it would be more cost-effective and sustainable to locate all district staff in a new building. Human resources, business services, purchasing and district foundation staff are currently dispersed in modular buildings and other locations across campus.
The high cost of fixing structural and mechanical issues in the existing District Office Building also made starting fresh a prudent option. Measure C proposed a new data center for Education Technology Services staff, but diminishing data storage needs since 2006 made moving the current ETS staff to the District Office Building a more sensible plan.
We determined that we no longer needed to build a new data center. The old District Office Building was the right size for ETS staff, said Kevin McElroy, vice chancellor of business services for the Foothill-De Anza Community College District. What weve ultimately done is flip-flopped the two projects.
McElroy noted that the new space would accommodate district and foundation needs better than the old office building and would provide a boardroom that is more accessible to the public.
According to McElroy, the district examined more than six locations on the Foothill campus before settling on Lot 7 for the new administrative building. Unlike other campus sites, the location requires limited grading, electrical and plumbing work, and is close to campus access points along Moody Road.
The Foothill-De Anza Community College District Board of Trustees authorized district staff to conduct a preliminary study in April and amended the bond project list in May. At a study session Aug. 25, the board received a series of program diagrams, building plans and conceptual renderings.
We wanted to make sure they were comfortable with our design direction, McElroy said.

Opening Date for New Taumarunui Library Confirmed
The end is in sight for the Taumarunui library to relocate from its current Hakiaha St location to Ruapehu District Councils (RDC) head office building on Huia St.
For the past three months builders have been working at the Huia St office relocating customer services and other staff from one side of the building to the other and constructing the new library location.
RDC Community Librarian, Fiona Thomas, said that the builders have confirmed a target date of Saturday 11 October for the construction work to be finished.
After the builders move out the book shelving, desks and other things of that nature need to be installed, she said.
Last but not least all the books and computers need to be moved across which is a huge logistical challenge.
To enable this the Hakiaha St library will close for the last time on Saturday 18 October and re-open in its brand new Huia St location after Labour Day on Tuesday 28 October.
Mrs Thomas said that the relocation of the library has allowed council to have a complete re-think of how the library will operate and develop a purpose built space in a modern building.
The Hakiaha St site has certainly reached the end of its useful life as a library with the building getting very old and suffering from old building problems.
The new Huia St location will enable us to embrace new opportunities and make necessary changes in order to continue to deliver value to Ruapehu communities in the future, she said.

WAREHAM The 100 apartments at Woods at Wareham will be improved and will maintain their designation as affordable housing for at least 15 more years as a result of $9.1 million in MassHousing loans.
With the new financing, the 17 residential buildings on the property will receive substantial renovation. Among the improvements planned for the property are new siding, windows, doors and roofs and porch and stair repairs, electrical and fire alarm upgrades and boiler replacement as needed, officials said in a news release.
The Woods at Wareham is owned by Riverview Village Associates in partnership with HallKeen Management, which has extended for 20 years the HUD Section 8 Housing Assistant Payment (HAP) contract on 78 of the apartments. Additionally, the state Department of Housing and Community Development has approved a new 15-year HAP contract for the remaining 22 apartments.
"The financing we were able to arrange with MassHousing will give new life to Woods at Wareham and enable us to provide much-needed affordable housing to its residents for many years to come," said David Carlen, president of Norwich Corporation and representative of the River View Associates general partner, in a statement.
The Woods at Wareham is located at 48 Swifts Beach Road. The 100 apartments are contained in 17 two-story buildings constructed in 1972.
