Wade Architectural Systems Expanding Commercial Architectural Services to Louisiana

    - September 13, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) September 13, 2014

For the past 25 years, Wade Architectural Systems has provided architectural products for a vast array of construction projects across the country. Its headquarters and lone location has always been in Humble, Texas. However, that is about to change. Recently, Wade Architectural Systems announced the expansion of its commercial architectural services to Louisiana.

The recent decision to establish a service center in the Pelican State reinforces the national scope of Wade Architectural Systems. The company has long been a panel systems stalwart in Texas, with its participation in commercial projects that include Galveston Station No. 4, the Council on Alcohol & Drugs, SYSCO Food Headquarters, the Agriculture & Life Sciences Complex of Texas A&M University, Stanaker Library, Community Resource Credit Union, the Kingwood Campus of Lone Star College, and the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing. Out-of-state projects have included the Siemens Wind Turbine Nacelle Assembly Facility in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Commercial clients at Louisiana can expect to gain access to the wide range of product brands available at Wade Architectural Systems. Centria is a wall panel systems company, with its products manufactured with Advanced Thermal and Moisture Protection (ATMP) technology. VMZINC provides an expansive range of titanium zinc sheets, coils, and roofing and cladding products. Dri-Design relies on aluminum, copper, and zinc to make durable wall panel systems that make it unnecessary to add costly joint sealants or gaskets. Construction Specialties focuses on specific architectural features, such as grilles, louvers, expansion joint systems, and fire and explosion vents. Clients with high-end building faade needs can contact Wade Architectural Systems regarding Proclad Enterprises Ltd., which manufactures modular flat panels.

Wilkinson Hi-Rise, which is the world's largest manufacturer of trash and linen chutes, also provides compactors and automated recycling systems. With Epic Metals Corporation, clients can order long-span architectural roof deck systems. Products from many of the these brands have been extensively used on the aforementioned building projects.

About Wade Architectural Systems: Founded in 1988 by the father-and-son team of Lisle and Bill Wade, Wade Architectural Systems is a supplier of exterior architectural metal products to residential homes and corporate buildings in the Houston and Dallas metro areas. Wade Architectural Systems is headquartered at 1803 Humble Place Drive, Humble, TX 77338. The company can be contacted by sending an email to wade(at)wadearch(dot)com. Historic home tour benefits stained glass rehab

    - September 13, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

With the late morning sun back-lighting them, the stained glass windows in the sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church look as resplendent as they did when master glassmakers David and John Povey installed them in 1910.

They used warm colors because of the gray days we so often have here, said Lynne Neville, who is a member of the churchs stained glass restoration project.

Started with fundraising in 2011, the project has restored two of the main windows, which were buckling over time due to softening of the leading and came (a kind of putty) that holds the stained glass pieces together.

But a closer look shows that the newly restored windows are cleaner, straighter and let in more light.

The middle panel of one window, the Good Shepherd, is completed, but the side panels feature white boards to hold the place of the glass panels now under renovation by a Mill City stained glass artist.

Still awaiting funding for full restoration is a piece called Jesus Knocking at the Door.

That title inspired the idea for a tour of historic homes and sites to benefit the glass restoration effort, Neville said.

Participants not only will get an inside look at some of Corvallis most significant historic homes, they will get a look at some innovative recent restoration projects.

For example, the 1905-06 Horner House, built by John and Isabelle Horner, whose collection formed the basis for a museum collection, has been occupied by its current owners only since November. They are in the midst of an extensive interior remodel to make the house functional for the 21st century but also preserving its historic features.

Proceeds from the house will go to the Jesus Knocking window restoration, which is set for 2015.

Pub and shops to be demolished in 2.5 million regeneration of Hollinswood

    - September 13, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

A pub will be demolished and shops razed to the ground and rebuilt as part of a 2.5 million regeneration of an area of Telford.

The project has been lined up for Hollinswood, and members of Telford & Wrekin Council's cabinet will decide whether to push ahead with the proposals at a meeting next week.

The scheme includes demolition of the Woodcutter pub, demolition and replacement of the existing shops and flats and building a new activity hub for adults with learning difficulties.

It also includes enhancements to and extension of the community centre, landscaping improvements, better links to Telford town centre and the potential for further residential development.

Consultation on the proposals is already under way and an open day will be held from 1.30pm to 6.30pm in Hollinswood Community Centre on Tuesday.

Telford & Wrekin Council also has the potential option of carrying out a second phase of regeneration which would result in construction of seven two bedroom homes close to the centre of Hollinswood.

Hollinswood would follow in the footsteps of Brookside and Hadley, which have already seen major regeneration works to their centres.

The plans to revamp Hollinswood, which will be discussed by councillors at a meeting on Thursday (SEPT 18), are in response to a profile of The Nedge ward that was carried out in 2011, which highlighted that the local parish saw the centre of Hollinswood as unattractive, outdated, unsafe and subject to vandalism.

The review also showed that residents felt the physical environment of the centre makes it a focus for social and community problems in the area with growing issues of crime and anti-social behaviour.

Councillor Bill McClements, cabinet member for finance and enterprise, said: This scheme will improve Hollinswoods links to the town centre, providing better access to emerging employment opportunities associated

Polk Courthouse Remodeling Work Will Improve Customer Service

    - September 13, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Jim Diamond, left, and Terry Johnston, carpenters with Semco Construction, continue remodeling work for the consolidation of the Civil Division at the Polk County Courthouse in Bartow Friday.

BARTOW | When it comes to making things easier for the customer, the court clerk's office is willing to break down a few barriers in the way, starting with a wall.

In an effort to improve customer accessibility in the Polk County Courthouse, the Civil Division is being remodeled to consolidate all services related to Civil Court activities into one office area, said Stacy Butterfield, Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Since earlier this week, workers have been busy gutting the first floor's southeast corner of the courthouse to make room for family law, domestic violence, domestic relations, probate, juvenile dependency and civil law.

Eventually, a wall in the Civil Division will be knocked down to combine two rooms into one.

Butterfield said the project is part of a strategic plan "to deliver exceptional customer service," and one of the most pressing improvements needed was to consolidate services and office locations.

"I want customers to be able to access our services as quickly and conveniently as possible," she said. "This will eliminate long waits for the elevators and bouncing around the 10-story building. It will also further increase staff efficiencies and resources."

With the current layout, some people go to the front counter in the Civil Division looking for help, but are told to go across the hall or to a different level to address their particular needs, said Kim Stenger, the Civil Division director.

The two rooms to be combined into one in the southeast corner of the first floor will create a total of about 14,110 square feet for the newly remodeled Civil Division, Stenger said.

Customers will be able to walk up to a single long counter for all of their Civil Court needs, Stenger said.
