2G Energy AG: The LichtBlick SE sales team for "ZuhauseKraftwerk" smaller power stations moves to 2G

    - Considerable increase in sales figures for 2G G-Boxes expected in Germany thanks to comprehensive sales and service areas

Heek, Germany, September 4, 2014 - 2G Energy AG (ISIN DE000A0HL8N9), a leading manufacturer of cogeneration systems, is significantly expanding its sales team and taking over the LichtBlick SE sales network. The energy provider stopped selling ZuhauseKraftwerk-type cogeneration modules in May. Independently of this decision, the 1,000 ZuhauseKraftwerk smaller power plants operated by LichtBlick itself will continue to be serviced directly by the energy provider and its service partners.

The sales team of more than 20 members is to reinforce the 2G sales team for the G-Box 20 (20 kWel and up to 43 kWth) and G-Box 50 (50 kWel and up to 100 kWth). The former LichtBlick sales team members will contribute both their professional experience and a technical understanding of cogeneration systems. Before this time, they had been selling the LichtBlick ZuhauseKraftwerk systems with electrical output of 20 kW. The LichtBlick team is being integrated into 2G Home GmbH, which is responsible for the sales and organization of the system service area through regional firms in the sanitation, heating, and cooling trade (SHC) in this power range. By expanding the sales area, 2G wants to more intensively address the target groups: the housing industry, hotels, health sector, swimming pools, shopping centers, medium-sized industry and the trade, and also significantly increase the sales figures for its own 2G cogeneration systems (no contracting agreements). As a rule, these target groups have a large, often continuous, need for heat and cooling. With the 2G cogeneration systems, they can significantly reduce their energy costs over the long run and make these costs calculable.

Within the framework of the strengthened sales team, 2G will guarantee service for the G-Box 20 and G-Box 50 throughout Germany through partnerships with local SHC companies. The G-Boxes are well-engineered, established cogeneration systems. 2G routinely provides the service force with training on expert commissioning and maintenance of the G-Boxes. Drawing on the established contacts of the SHC operations, 2G promises improved customer access and consequently better market penetration.

2G will generally be using the intensified sales area and the service partnerships to expand its mass production thanks to higher production unit runs for the G-Boxes. These economies of scale will enable considerable unit costs reductions.

    K+BB's Design Award Winners Announced

    - September 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

We at K+BB are proud to announce our 2014 Design Award competition winners! The esteemed judges critiqued more than 55 project submissions on aesthetics, functionality and efficiency, solutions to challenges and fresh thinking. The panel, which included Chantal Devane of Devane Design; Christopher Grubb of Arch-Interiors Design Group; Ebony Stephenson with Criner Remodeling; and David Stimmel with Stimmel Consulting Group, chose a Kitchen, Bath and Showroom of the Year, as well as two Honorable Mentions in both the bath and kitchen categories and one for showrooms. Congratulations to this years outstanding winners!

View the gallery of winners here.

Kitchen of the Year: Dresner Design Its hard to believe this space used to look like what designer Scott Dresner of Dresner Design in Chicago called a medieval dungeon dark and small. His plan of attack included raising the ceiling height and lightening and brightening the finishes to give the kitchen the illusion of more space and openness. He chose elements he thought would best complement the existing architecture, including a one-ton Calacatta Gold marble kitchen island.

Bathroom of the Year: Design Studio 15, Keesee and Associates and William Edward Construction An on-the-go Walt Disney executive and his wife in Winter Park, Fla., longed for a unique, modern and luxurious bathroom, which is exactly what Design Studio 15 and Keesee and Associates provided after an extensive renovation. The project, which was completed last December by William Edward Construction, included a large closet, a steam shower and sauna, creative storage and organization opportunities, ample lighting choices, a private water closet, a Jacuzzi and a unique ceiling.

Showroom of the Year: SieMatic, Mick De Giulio and Mick Ricereto The main goal of SieMatics North America flagship showroom in New York Citys A&D Building was to be what the design team called an unexpected space that would speak to individual lifestyles. According to Hans Henkes, president and CEO of SieMatic Mobelwerke USA, the designers eschewed the typical layout of kitchen display vignettes in favor of a more authentic, realistic setting of two New York "apartments" and used the companys cabinetry designs to create modern and warm residential-style environments of timeless elegance.

After she and her husband had been in their own home in Short Hills, N.J., for 10 years, it was finally their turn to transform their kitchen. Commercial Building Construction in the US Industry Market Research Report from IBISWorld Has Been Updated

    - September 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 04, 2014

The Commercial Building Construction industry struggled immensely during the recession. The collapse of the housing market and its subsequent strain on the financial sector set the stage for a stifled business sector with little need for new commercial space. A tightened credit market, high unemployment and low consumer spending also contributed to the industry's decline as businesses downsized or closed shop, which halted demand for new office, retail and warehouse construction. Stagnant growth in per capita disposable income also cut into demand for the hotel and recreation market. As a result, industry revenue is expected to fall over the five years to 2014.

Commercial construction typically lags behind the overall economy by one to two years, due in part to the length of construction contracts and the pipeline of projects that general contractors keep on the books. Industry revenue began to shrink in 2009 and continued through 2010. During those years, most contractors' backlogs dried up, and many operators cut prices to stay competitive, leading profit margins to narrow significantly. Additionally, strong demand from key downstream markets has caused an increase in demand for new commercial construction. While improving economic indicators are excepted to benefit the industry, the Producer Price Index states that materials for warehouse and office construction have gone up, bumping up operators fixed costs. According to IBISWorld Industry Analyst Danielle Karvess, overall improvements across the US economy will boost strong industry growth during the next five years, with the need for new construction returning as businesses expand to meet growing consumer demand. Over the five years to 2019, industry revenue is anticipated to grow.

The Commercial Building Construction industry has a low level of market share concentration, with the four largest companies holding a relatively small share of industry revenue. The largest players are multinational general contractors (GCs) with the resources and staff to handle massive, lucrative contracts for state-of-the-art structures like super skyscrapers and professional sports arenas. However, most participants in the industry are small-scale GCs that serve a narrow, local geographic region, Karvess says. As such, more than one-half of industry enterprises employ fewer than five people and often work as subcontractors for larger firms.

    Accurso details link to Rizzuto

    - September 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Right after Louis Laberge was elected president of the Fdration des travailleurs et travailleuses du Qubec (FTQ) in 1964, the unions headquarters moved into an office building on Mtropolitain Blvd. E. where, within months, a soon-to-be notorious figure would settle in down the hall.

Nicolo Rizzuto Sr., who became patriarch of the Montreal Mafia a decade later, incorporated Grand Royal Asphalt Paving Inc. in 1965, and listed its headquarters in room 509 of 3333 Mtropolitain E. in St-Michel.

Its unknown whether he ever crossed paths with his neighbour, Laberge, whose FTQ office was in room 500 of the same building during the years that Rizzuto had Grand Royal Asphalt Paving and other companies registered in number 509.

However, the overlapping address is just one of the links uncovered by The Gazette between a cast of characters from Quebecs union, construction and criminal worlds whose names have come up at the Charbonneau Commission this week.

Former construction magnate Tony Accurso, whose father, James, launched the Louisbourg Construction empire in the 1950s, is one of the last and most anticipated witnesses to appear before the commission, which has spent two years wading into collusion, kickbacks and dirty political financing involving Quebecs construction industry and public contracts.

Accurso testified on Tuesday that he didnt think his father had known Laberge, when asked directly by commission lawyer Sonia LeBel.

Testifying on Wednesday, Accurso identified Laberge, his mentor when he took over the family construction business following his fathers death in 1981, as a spiritual father.

And Accurso called Vito Rizzuto, who died of cancer in December, and son Nick Rizzuto Jr., who was gunned down in 2009, minor contacts. He added he never met Nicolo Sr., father of Vito, who was assassinated in 2010.

Yet Laberge, who died in 2002, and most of these individuals intersect in Montreal municipal contracts.

Senators question Makati's P350-M budget for office relocation

    - September 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Senators on Thursday criticized as exorbitant Makati City's P350-million allocation for the transfer of its urban planning office and data center to the allegedly overpriced P2.7-billion Makati City Hall Building 2.

The construction of the controversial office and parking complex started when Vice President Jejomar Binay was mayor of the city. He and his son, incumbent Mayor Junjun Binay, are facing plunder raps before the Ombudsman in connection with the allegedly padded construction cost.

"So, yan na po yata ang pinakamahal na paglipat ng isang opisina sa buong mundo. P350 million. Ni hindi na nga po magpapamasahe diyan eh, he added.

Lorenza Amores, head of the city's budget department, said the allocation was for the transfer of the Urban Development and Planning Department but no money has been disbursed yet.

Engineer Merlina Panganiban, urban development officer, said the amount was for the transfer of the office which was composed of many divisions. Panganiban, however, said the bulk of the amount would be for the transfer of the citys data center.

Lahat ng transaction sa Makati ay doon nanggagaling sa data center. Lahat ng connections ay nandito. Ang idea ay kailangan mong paandarin mo muna ito bago patayin ang old data center. You need to buy new equipment, yun ang dapat ilagay sa bagong data center, Panganiban said.

Richmond Students Head Back to School in Deteriorating Buildings

    - September 3, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -

While students in Chesterfield, Henrico and Hanover are heading back to class today for the first day of school. However, some students in Richmond Public Schools will be returning to buildings in desperate need of repairs.

The city's public schools need at least $35 million in repairs.

School leaders have said major maintenance projects like replacing HVAC systems and crumbling buildings can't wait any longer.

"I've got grandmothers calling me begging that their grandchild doesn't get put in a basement because they have asthma and we have mold issues," says School Board member, Kim Gray. "We have sewage issues, we have HVAC and boiler issues that we have to address right now."

The biggest problem they found were the failing HVAC systems. Repairs and replacements for those systems alone are slated at $20 million.

Another $7.5 million is needed for roofs and more than $4 million are needed for basic life, health and safety improvements.

"Many, if not most, of these issues were present in reports dating as far back as 2002," Mayor Jones said at a news conference Monday. "It's clear that the neglect that is now being focused on is neglect that did not happen overnight, and it won't be fixed overnight."
