MISSOULA - City officials are planning for some much needed roadway improvements to Hillview Way, but there will be an added to cost to residents living in the South Hills.

The work would take place between 39th and 55th streets, and would include curb and gutter installation, full reconstruction of the roadway surface, and new bike lanes on both sides of Hillview Way.

Sidewalks will also be extended on the west side of Hillview up to Black Pine Trail and on the east side of the road to Chief Charlo School in order to connect to existing sidewalks.

The total cost of the project is estimated at $3.8 million, with $1 million to paid from Transportation Impact Fee Funds.

The remaining portions of the project will be paid for by Special Improvement District, assessing the property owners within the district, Parks Impact Fees and Road District contributions.

The district includes 910 properties and almost 1,000 residential units. Most of the units are single family homes but also include town homes, condominiums and the Grandview Apartments.

Also in the district are Chief Charlo Elementary School, Skyview Park and Missoula Alliance Church. The projected assessment to property owners at $1,660 for a house and $1,160 for a condo or townhouse.

There will be a presentation on the project Thursday September 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chief Charlo Elementary School.

The Missoula City Council will take up a resolution on Sept. 15 of intent for the creation of a Special Improvement District.

The Spring Festival Committee has sprung into action to spend $2000 received from the Town of Narrogin's Community Chest Grants.

The annual grant acquittal by the Town supports grassroots causes through a one- off grant, as decided by the council after an application process.

The Narrogin Spring Festival was given $2000 as well as in-kind support from the Town.

NSF secretary Loriann Bell said the committee was thrilled to be able to buy three new gazebos with the grant, which she said would help identify the committee to punters on the festival weekend.

"These are owned by the committee now, and will save the Spring Festival money in the long run, which means we can continue to run the festival," she said.

Town of Narrogin manager leisure and culture Susan Guy said she was glad to see the money put to good use.

"The Spring Festival is a valuable contributor to the community and the Town is proud to be able to support it," she said.

"The committee works hard at fundraising and applying for grants and (the Community Chest grant) complements the existing sources."

Grant to help festival bloom

GeoEstate Development Corp. set a new milestone when it recently started construction of the third and final tower of The Beacon Makati, its first residential condominium project in the countrys financial district.

The podium of the 45-story Amorsolo Tower is starting to rise after the first concrete pouring of its foundation on June 2. About 50 percent of its studio, two-bedroom and penthouse units are already sold. GeoEstate expects to complete the tower by 2017.

The Amorsolo Tower will complete The Beacon and our first project, said Derryl Camaclang, manager of the Marketing Support Group and Customer Relations Unit. When we sold The Beacon, we were a new player and had no track record. So its important for us to deliver this project.

Roces Tower, the first tower of the residential resort community at the corner of Don Chino Roces and Arnaiz Avenue, was completed in 2012. It was followed in 2013 by Arnaiz Tower. Both towers are fully sold out and are now being occupied by unit owners and tenants.

Many unit owners in Arnaiz Tower bought more than one unit in the same building, Camaclang said. Many owners in Roces Tower also bought units in Arnaiz Tower and leased out their units in the first building. The quality of studio, one- and two-bedroom units at The Beacon is at par with many luxury condominiums but their prices are more affordable.

Meanwhile, The Beacon community is taking shape with residents enjoying both their elegant homes and amenities. The adult and kiddie swimming pools are favorites for both children and adults. The spacious gardens, complete with gazebos, add to the resort and vacation atmosphere.

Arnaiz Tower hosts most of The Beacons indoor amenities on its 6th floor. Homeowners are working out in the fully equipped bi-level gym which is complemented by a locker room, shower rooms and a sauna. There is also an expansive lounge area, function room and a playroom.

Arnaiz Tower also has the Sky Lounge and a mini theater in its roof deck. The roof deck also has an open area, where families can enjoy the breeze, morning sun and a view of the Makati skyline, Manila Bay and other parts of the metropolis.

The Roces Tower and Amorsolo Tower roof decks each have two barbecue areas and can be used for private parties of the unit owners.

The Beacon is ideal for families and professionals seeking a home and sanctuary in the Makati Central Business District. It is also conveniently located close to shopping complexes, schools, hospitals and major thoroughfares.
