Brown Harris Stevens agent Ben Stein is among the legions who needed a warm towel after taking part Aug. 21 in an ice-bucket challenge to raise funds and awareness for ALS. Stein posted a video last week to his Facebook page (his page is under the name Ben Stiletto Stein) in which he and Charles Koeppel got showered with ice and water on Worth Avenue.
Stein then challenged Palm Beach interior decorator William A. Eubanks and close friend U.S. Ambassador Mary Ourisman to either get cold and wet or donate $100 for the cause. They both accepted, but are out of town and will carry out the dousing when they return.
I think its excellent, Stein said Saturday. It gets people to be more interactive, to do something. If they dont do it, they feel guilty. I never knew what ALS was until the ice-bucket challenge.
Meanwhile, Matthew Byrne, owner/chef at kitchen, a West Palm Beach restaurant, has challenged his friend, Clay Conley, chef at Buccan restaurant, 350 S. County Road, and Conleys kitchen staff.
