TWIN FALLS Grand Slam fans soon will have an opportunity to step up to the plate in Twin Falls.
A Dennys restaurant is under construction and its opening is about two months away.
We own the one in Burley, so were opening one in Twin, said co-owner Justin Silcock.
Silcocks partners are brothers Todd and Thomas Peterson. They opened the Burley location in April 2013. The new location, at 291 Pole Line Road in Twin Falls, will be completed this fall.
The partners have a history with nationwide restaurant chain, which was founded in 1953. Silcock owns A-1 Booth Manufacturing, a Burley-based company started by his father Richard that has been building and remodeling Dennys interiors throughout the U.S. for about 30 years. Petersons brother Todd works for Silcock.
We did most of the construction on the building in Burley, said Thomas Peterson, who oversees restaurant operations at the Burley location.
When construction in Twin Falls is complete, the restaurant will be staffed and new employees will be trained. Management already has been hired and trained, Peterson said.
The partners hired about 100 people when they opened the Burley location.
The restaurant will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including all holidays.
Weve been open 15 months in Burley and havent closed a day, Peterson said.

A city Sanitation Department plumber swiped 240 gallons of gas from the citys supplies and hoarded it at his Staten Island home, authorities said.
Plumber John DiBerardino was slapped with a $4,000 fine Wednesday by the Conflicts of Interest Board and agreed to give up his job.
He took the gas - worth $681.60 - from a Sanitation garage over the course of six months this year and used his city-issued car to drive it home, according to the ruling.
Also busted but allowed to keep her job was an Office of Emergency Management worker who used agency letterhead to lie about her salary and pocket thousands in fraudulent welfare benefits.
Tanya Jenkins sent in bogus letters for four years and claimed to make $13.75 when she really made $17.75, taking $23,722 in food stamps and $403.17 in Medicaid benefits, COIB said.

(Consumer Reports) - Lots of products promise to clear your pipes without having to call a plumber. But even though they contain harsh chemicals, Consumer Reports tests have shown most arent that effective.
Now Consumer Reports has just tested a mechanical device that attaches to your faucet and uses pressurized water to clean your pipes. Its called Drain FX. It claims its effective at clearing all kinds of clogs with no tools, no chemicals, no mess and no need to call the plumber. Besides the $20 version for sinks, Drain-FX has a Plus version for bathtubs and showers. It comes with a 15-foot hose extension and a special valve.
To test how well Drain FX works, Consumer Reports clogged pipes with things like fat, sand and human hair. Drain-FX worked pretty well. It cleared everything completely, except it only partially removed the clump of hair.
You do need to have a faucet that has to have a removable aerator, which most do. But if your drain has small openings, you may have to take it apart to get the tube down the drain.
As a comparison, Consumer Reports also tried a $3 traditional plunger. It worked too, but took longer and required more effort.
Complete Ratings and recommendations on all kinds of products, including appliances, cars & trucks, and electronic gear, are available on Consumer Reports website. Subscribe to ConsumerReports.org.

The detection of an adult Asian Citrus Psyllid (ACP) in an insect trap in a residential neighborhood in northeast San Luis Obispo has prompted a high density trapping delimitation survey of the surrounding area. A quarantine restricting the movement of citrus nursery stock and citrus fruit will be established by the California Department of Food and Agriculture to prevent the spread of this serious plant pest. Control efforts will take place in the near future in the area immediately surrounding the detection.
This is the second detection of ACP in San Luis Obispo County. The first detection occurred this past March in Arroyo Grande; only a single ACP was detected. Intensive trapping and visual surveys are ongoing, but no additional insects have been detected. However, a quarantine restricting the movement of citrus nursery stock and citrus fruit remains in effect in a five-mile radius surrounding the Arroyo Grande detection site.
The first detection of ACP in California occurred in San Diego County in 2008. Since then, it has been found throughout Southern California. This insect pest is of serious concern to Californias commercial citrus because it is responsible for spreading Huanglongbing, also called citrus greening disease, a plant disease that is fatal to all types of citrus trees. This includes citrus trees in countless landscapes across the county as well as local commercial citrus orchards valued at over $13 million in 2013, according to Martin Settevendemie, Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer for San Luis Obispo County. Over the past ten years nearly 50% of the commercial citrus groves in Florida have been killed by this disease. The University of Florida estimates the disease has tallied more than 6,600 lost jobs, $1.3 billion in lost revenue to growers and $3.6 billion in lost economic activity for the state. The disease does not affect human health.
A single citrus tree infected with Huanglongbing was found in a Los Angeles County backyard in 2012. To date no additional detections of the disease in California have occurred.
Staff from the San Luis Obispo County Agricultural Commissioners office and officials from the California Department of Food and Agriculture continue to search for this pest by monitoring hundreds of insect traps placed in urban neighborhoods and commercial orchards throughout the county.

IT is not often that you come across a bungalow with so much room, or on such a big plot, and it is even more rare to find one in such good condition.
But this one, home to Jim and Lesley Lewis these past seven or so years, is a big, three bedroom bungalow with a decent amount of land, and the couple has spent a lot of time, effort and money modernising it.
It is now at the point where Jim said: "Someone can walk in tomorrow and not have to lift a finger. We have done all the big jobs that needed doing, such as putting in a new boiler and radiators, uPVC windows, soffits and guttering, and so on.
"It is a very easy house to live in with easy to maintain gardens to be enjoyed, not slaved over."
Their property is at Ravens Lane, Bignall End, and is one of the bigger the biggest? bungalows available in this area.
It is approached through a pair of electrically operated gates on to a tarmac driveway, which makes a strong first impression because it is unusually large.
Jim said: "We used to have a caravan here and there was still plenty of room for cars.
"I reckon you can get ten vehicles parked here."
The positive impressions are only reinforced when you go through the solid oak front door into the entrance hallway, because this has to be one of the most striking I have seen.

A father-of-four whose family were threatened at gunpoint by four masked men has described the lack of Garda resources in parts of rural Co Limerick as "appalling".
Speaking after two men received five- and seven- year jail sentences for the aggravated burglary at his home, Gerry Garvey said he is hopeful of further prosecutions.
Mr Garvey, his wife Anne, and their four children were subjected to a terrifying ordeal when a masked gang armed with a sawn-off shot gun, baseball bat, and sledge hammer, burst through the patio doors of their home at Sunville House, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, on April 16, 2012.
The 54-year-old was handcuffed by the gang who threatened to blow his head off and kill his children.
Speaking on Live 95FM, Mr Garvey said he received fantastic support from the garda.
However, he said there needs to be a review of how money is spent in the justice system, insisting that garda are operating under very constrained resources all the time.
I know in our own particular area, for example, there are two or three Garda stations which share one patrol car between them.
I mean in fairness in the 21st century that seems absolutely appalling.
It kind of frightens me when you look at the scale of things that they cant give resources to preventive measures like having sufficient garda on duty on the beat and driving around in patrol cars in the smaller areas and manning the small stations.
Yet when it comes to a major crime like this or other similar crimes, there doesnt seem to be any difficulty in providing the finances for free legal aid and for prisons.
