A local Milwaukee granite installation company is getting more attention lately for work on several high-end projects. House of Stone, Inc. recently worked on the south-end renovation of Lambeau Field, which included granite, Cambria, and Silestone quartz countertop installation.
House of Stone has been working with Lambeau Field, home to Wisconsins beloved Green Bay Packers, for over a decade. The new section of the field needed new countertops for many areas, including concessions, bars, luxury suites, bathrooms, and lounge areas. House of Stone fabricated and installed the quartz and granite countertops in a very tight construction schedule, in order for the field to be ready for preseason football in August. We are really proud that we were able to accomplish the fabrication and installation of this work within the allotted time frame, said Korkut Colakoglu, House of Stone owner.
Riding on the success of the Lambeau Field project, House of Stone is currently working on the Potawatomi Hotel. They are bringing their expertise to the construction of the new hotel addition to the casino.
To cap off the exciting time House of Stone is having, they launched their new website last month. The Milwaukee granite and quartz installation company wanted a new site that could visually showcase these new projects, so there is a product slideshow for customers to view.

An artists impression of a design by Rick Mather Architects of Heathrow City, a 190,000-home town that would spring up if the west London airport closes.
Architects have come up with designs for Heathrow City a 190,000-home town that would spring up if the west London airport closes.
Supported by London mayor Boris Johnson, who backs a Thames Estuary airport to replace Heathrow, the redevelopment could potentially support 90,000 jobs and add 7.5bn (9.4bn) to the British economy.
Designs, from three firms of architects, include plans for new park land, scientific research centres, and a factory for modular housing units to make it easier for people to build their own homes. Commissioned by Transport for London, the designs are:
nHawkins Brown This is the one that includes the factory-for-homes plan. Online customisation would allow Londoners to order homes to their own specifications.
nRick Mather Architects Their proposal would see the Heathrow site evolve to become a new hub city by working with the existing structure. The former runways would define the structure of the city and connect 10 distinct centres.
Developers would look to create a research, technology and manufacturing hub.
* Maccreanor Lavington Their vision aims to develop a fully functioning city within the metropolis. A technology campus would be built to the east of the current site. The former Terminal 2 building would be renovated to become a civic centre and retail hub.
The Thames Estuary airport plan dubbed Boris Island is currently being considered by the Airports Commission although recent reports prepared for the commission have cast doubt on its feasibility.
The commission is due to make a decision this autumn on whether the plan joins Heathrow and Gatwick runway schemes on the commissions shortlist.

SINGAPORE: More condominiums in Singapore are adopting unique water features, and some of these have become mosquito breeding areas.
Mr Theodore Chan, President of the Singapore Institute of Architects said the challenge lies in convincing developers not to use devices that retain water. "When something becomes more difficult to maintain, there is always a cost implication. For example, you need to provide more covers for open drains - and any cover that you install will cost money."
He believed that this was an issue that the whole industry should be thinking more about. "We live in very close proximity and Singapore's environment is going to get even more dense. So everybody has got to play their part," said Mr Chan. "I hope developers and clients can see this is something worth spending the money on, so we won't have any water retention problems.
To prevent potential mosquito breeding sites, the contractor for the Arc @ Tampines ensures that the ground on which the air-conditioner is placed slopes slightly, in order to prevent water retention.
The Association of Property and Facility Managers said one way to prevent mosquito breeding is to ensure that areas are designed in a way that facilitates maintenance and cleaning.
The most common mosquito breeding sites in condominiums are flower pots and trays, as well as stagnant water.

Architects have come up with designs for a 190,000-home town that would be built if Heathrow closes to make way for a new airport.
Three architectural firms were commissioned by Transport for London to come up with proposals for 'Heathrow City', which include new park land, a scientific research centre and a factory for self-made property to make it easier for people to build their own homes.
One of the three designs could be put in place if Heathrow is replaced by a Thames Estuary airport, a plan supported by London Mayor Boris Johnson and currently under consideration by the Whitehall-appointed Airports Commission.
Architects have come up with plans for 'Heathrow City' which could be built if the airport is replaced by a Thames Estuary airport. In these design, created by Rick Mather Architects, 190,000 homes would be spread among ten centres, connected by the former runways
According to supporters, the redevelopment of the airport could create 90,000 new jobs and add 7.5 billion to the UK economy.
In designs created by Rick Mather Architects, the Heathrow site would evolve to become a city of ten districts, connected by the existing runways and airport buildings.
Under that plan, developers would also create a research, technology and manufacturing hub, while homes would be made up individual houses, terraces, mansion blocks and communal squares.

The BRC said the weak spending growth partly reflected a supermarket price war, which contributed to a 1.8 per cent fall in high street prices last month, the biggest since at least 2006
British retail sales growth slowed in June to one of its weakest rates in three years, possibly in response to fears of higher interest rates, industry figures showed on Tuesday, adding to recent lacklustre economic data.
The British Retail Consortium said total retail spending in June was just 0.6 per cent higher than a year before, the lowest growth rate since May 2011 if annual volatility caused by the timing of Easter is excluded.
Consumer spending has been a major driver of Britains unexpectedly strong economic recovery over the past year, but in May the Bank of England said it expected the rate of growth to fall slightly in the second half of 2014.
Industrial output and the construction sector were weak in May, and services activity growth slowed to a four-month low in June.
The BRC said second-quarter sales growth was robust overall, rising by 2.6 per cent, the fastest growth rate for a calendar quarter since the third quarter of last year.
But the figures were flattered by Easter falling in the second quarter this year and the first quarter in 2013, and spending growth slowed towards the end of the quarter, after chalking up annual growth of 2 per cent in May.
June saw increased speculation that the Bank of England would raise interest rates from their record low 0.5 per cent later this year, though the BoE has stressed that any increases will be gradual and will be to below pre-crisis levels.
The BRC said the weak spending growth partly reflected a supermarket price war, which contributed to a 1.8 per cent fall in high street prices last month, the biggest since at least 2006.
Consumers continue to benefit from competitive pricing, which may be the cause of softer like-for-like sales in June, BRC director-general Helen Dickinson said.

DevOps automation tool leader Chef Software, Inc. has announced today a strong business trend towards DevOps tools amid the rise of web-scale ITan architectural approach pioneered by web innovators such as Amazon, Facebook, and Google. Chef Software is also releasing a series of new enterprise product features and commercial services designed to help enterprise customers accelerate time to market and power speed, scale, and consistency.
Web-scale computing places a great deal of emphasis on cloud and virtualization over physical hardware. The term web-scale IT was coined by Gartner who released a report that indicated the architectural approach will be found in 50% of global enterprise by 2017, up from 10% in 2013.
DevOps and web-scale IT is really about a change in practices as to rapid deployment and much larger scale, which depends heavily on automation, says Colin Campbell, Director of Patterns and Practices at Chef.
The business of DevOps has been good for Chef with the company seeing 182% year-over-year growth in Q2. Chefs platform has also reached over one million lifetime downloads and launched a new Chef Community siteSupermarket. Developers and DevOps teams alike will want to visit that.
Hoping to hold this upward trend, Chef is looking to capture the web-scale IT wave and that means more support for enterprise functionality.
Chef Software now provides three different tiers of customer engagement for all products, now including enterprise level support.
The first is reactive support: Do you have a problem? Call us. The second is proactive support: Included as a subscription, an account manager at Chef Software and a team of engineers proactively keep track of projects and make sure best practices are being followed. Finally, Chef Software still provides consulting services for customers who need on-site hands-on support for setting up Chef.
Chef Software has announced the general availability of a new analytics platform. The platform incorporates tools added to Chef through a recent acquisition big data and analytics startup of Tower3, which has provided significant resources to Chefs analytics applications.
Chef subscribers will access this through the new Chef action log, which publishes notifications on who is changing what on the Chef server and allows administrators to track cookbook usage, roles, environments, and changes to infrastructure, all through an easy-to-use dashboard.
With this system, an IT team could run across a fault or failure, easily track back through what changes happened before that failure, and use that knowledge from the Chef stack to determine the origin of the fault.

Vintage baskets for berry gathering will be in use once more for a Community Blackberry Pick being held to support the ongoing restoration of the barns and home that comprise the Parker Homestead in Little Silver. LITTLE SILVER A trove of vintage berry-picking baskets discovered at the historic Parker Homestead will be used during a community event to support the restoration of the circa-1665 property that was home to eight generations of the Parker family.
On July 19 and 26, residents of Little Silver can embrace history hands-on when the Parker Homestead hosts its first Community Blackberry Pick.
Although the event is free, donations will be accepted in support of the Parker Homestead-1665, a nonprofit formed to spearhead efforts to restore the Parker Homestead.
In 1995, Julia Parker the last of eight generations of the family gifted the property to the borough of Little Silver upon her death, with the stipulation that it be preserved as a historic landmark and for educational purposes. She died in 1996.
The Parker Homestead is one of the oldest homes in the nation, and is listed on both the state and national registers of historic places.
The homestead was built by Peter Parker and includes sections dating to 1720, the late 19th century and early 20th century.
Located on Rumson Road near Sickles Park, the homestead includes a main house and three outlying barns.
The baskets, which were used by members of the Parker family in the 1950s and 1960s, were found during restoration of one of the barns on the property.
