Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Chattanooga Selected for Outdoor Lighting Project for The Lookout Mountain Fairyland …

    - July 15, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Chattanooga, Tennessee recently celebrated the completion of a custom outdoor lighting design project for The Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club, a historical club and venue nestled on the side of Lookout Mountain just minutes from downtown Chattanooga.

Known as the gem of north Georgia, the Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club was established in 1926 and features a clubhouse honed from local mountain stone with an entrance guarded by two massive natural rock formations referred to as the Twin Sisters. The 34,000 square foot clubhouse is situated on a 29-acre estate and along with the amenities a clubhouse venue provides, features a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a six court tennis complex, a newly constructed outdoor pavilion, a pool and outdoor entertaining areas.

Joe Bozich, the Outdoor Lighting Perspectives franchisee in Chattanooga, Tennessee was excited to have the opportunity to work with the venue on a custom outdoor lighting design plan as part of a major 2.3 million dollar renovation.

I was thrilled to be selected for the project especially given its historical significance, said Joe Bozich. The prominent and unique features of the property provided the perfect backdrop for outdoor lighting and presented many opportunities for us to highlight the beauty of the Club and the entire property.

Among the outdoor lighting techniques used on the project, Mr. Bozichs custom outdoor lighting design included up lighting along the base of the main clubhouse and moon lighting in selected trees around the property. Mini flood lights were chosen for the small ornamental plants and up lighting continued on selected dogwood trees on the property.

We wanted to really showcase the unique features of the clubhouse and selected high power spotlights for the turrets and gutter lights for the stone chimney, explained Mr. Bozich.

The outdoor lighting really adds that beautiful final touch to our overall renovation, said Bob Guth, General Manager of the Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club. Joe and his team were a pleasure to work with and we appreciate their meticulous attention and the adjustments that were made to ensure the property was being highlighted in the most beautiful light. It really makes the club pop!

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, established in 1995, is the first and largest full service outdoor lighting company. With over 100,000 installations and over 50 locations across the United States and 3 international locations, the franchise is known for skillful, custom design and their free nighttime demonstration.

Featured in Architectural Digest, Garden Design, House Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens, Coastal Living and Martha Stewart Living, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives features stunning handcrafted copper and brass outdoor lighting fixtures which blend in with the natural outdoor environment so that all you see is the effect of the outdoor lighting.

CHICAGO (STMW) An Oak Lawn woman charged with murdering her 5-month-old granddaughter with a sledgehammer and knife is not mentally fit to stand trial at this time, a Cook County Circuit Court judge ruled Monday.

Judge Clayton Crane agreed with the findings of psychiatrist Dr. Matthew Markos, of Cook County Forensic Clinical Services, who in May found Alfreda Giedrojc unfit to stand trial.

After a series of delays the past few months, her fitness hearing finally was held before Crane at the Cook County Criminal Courts Building at 26th Street and California Avenue in Chicago.

It took all of five minutes for Crane to issue his ruling.

He told Giedrojc that she must return to court Aug. 28, at which time her treatment schedule will be unveiled. The judge also said Giedrojc, 62, must be re-evaluated after one year to determine whether she is fit to stand trial after treatment.

The Polish immigrant, who needs an interpreter during court appearances, was dressed in jail-issued blue coveralls over a white shirt. She used her left hand to pat down her graying hair as she entered the courtroom. No family members attended the hearing.

Her lawyer, assistant public defender Michael Wilson, was not available for comment after the judges ruling.

Giedrojc is to remain in the Cook County Jail, where she has resided since Oct. 6, the day that police say she used a sledgehammer and carving knife to kill Vivian Summers.

Grandmother accused of killing 5-month-old with sledgehammer and knife unfit for trial, judge says

    CHICAGO --

Judge Clayton Crane agreed with the findings of psychiatrist Dr. Matthew Markos, of Cook County Forensic Clinical Services, who in May found Alfreda Giedrojc unfit to stand trial, the Southtown Star is reporting.

Her lawyer, assistant public defender Michael Wilson, was not available for comment after the judge's ruling.

Giedrojc is to remain in the Cook County Jail, where she has resided since Oct. 6, the day that police say she used a sledgehammer and carving knife to kill Vivian Summers.

The gruesome killing shook Oak Lawn residents, as well as the battle-tested police officers and paramedics who first arrived on the horrific scene that Sunday morning.

The baby's father, Joe Summers, of Bolingbrook, had brought her to her grandparents' house so Giedrojc could watch her while he helped his brother-in-law with a repair project at his house across the street from where Giedrojc and her husband lived, officials said. The baby's mother is Amy Summers, the daughter of Alfreda and her husband, Boleslaw.

MPs call for farm income inquiry

MPs call for farm income inquiry

Updated 1:50pm Tuesday 15th July 2014 in News By Allan Tunningley

A CROSS-party group of rural MPs is calling on Defra to set up an inquiry into hill farmers incomes amid uncertainty over the future effect of CAP reform.

They have tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM) in the House of Commons which claims that many upland farmers are existing on less than the minimum wage.

Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron, chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Hill Farming Group, said the recent CAP reforms had led to increased uncertainty over the future level of marginal farm incomes.

Average farm incomes are around 12,000 and thats often the income for an entire family.

Because upland farmers are self-employed, the minimum wage doesnt apply. Such a situation wouldnt be tolerated if they worked for someone else.

    MORE TOP STORIES:

Mr Farron said while CAP reform had led to some subsidies being diverted from lowland farms to hill and moor-land farms, the changes had left the future unclear.

Although upland farm incomes have risen since 2009, when they were around 5,000, they are still very low. We need Defra to launch a full review of the situation to see how we can help these farmers.

Clark County fire marshal issues outdoor burning ban from Tuesday through Sept. 30 or later

    - July 15, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

As of 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, all land clearing and residential burning in Clark County has been restricted until further notice.

Also, the fire marshal is rescinding all burning permits issued prior to the ban. Permits can be reissued or extended when the ban is lifted.

Each yearClark County, along with Cowlitz and Skamania counties, implements a ban on outdoor burning from July 15 through Sept. 30, when fire danger leveltends to be high. The counties based the ban period on years of information about fuel conditions. However, in a year of extreme fire hazard conditions, a ban can begin sooner or end later.

After Sept. 30, residents should contact the Fire Marshal's Office to make sure the ban has been lifted before burning.

The burning restrictions do not apply to federally managed lands.

Recreational campfires on forest lands are allowed only if built in improved fire pits in designated campgrounds, such as commercial campgrounds and local, county and state parks.

On private land, recreational fires are permitted when built according to the following regulations:

The Fire Marshal suggests self-contained camp stoves as a safe and easy alternative to camp fires.

More information about Clark County's outdoor burning rules are available on the county's website.

    JERRY McBRIDE/Durango Herald

Because of the legalizing of marijuana Durango and La Plata County, residents can now grow for their own use. It has been safer than before because

Growing marijuana at home has become safer and, some say, less popular as Colorados legal landscape has changed.

Under Amendment 64, Colorado residents age 21 and older may grow up to six plants at home. But many users say they arent growing their own.

At the end of the day, theres not that many people exercising their right to grow marijuana under Amendment 64 and thats because people can just go into a store and buy it, said Brian Vicente, executive director of Sensible Colorado. Its like you can homebrew, but you can just go into the liquor store and buy it.

Marijuana stores also offer a greater variety of products than any home grower can hope to match, featuring different strains, edible marijuana-laced products and accessories.

Before Amendment 64 went into effect, home marijuana grows were often haphazard, and some were blamed for causing fires. Most tragically, in 2009, a Durango man named Dan Middleton was killed when his grow operation caused a fire in his condominium.

Family takes A/C repair fight to Action 13, gets results

    - July 15, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    HOUSTON (KTRK) --

When the Ramirez family's A/C went out they were not happy, but not too worried either. After all, they have been paying a monthly fee to Old Republic Home Warranty to help with just this sort of problem.

"Once I figured out what I was going to pay for, I went ahead and agreed so they can order the parts, get them out here, and get it fixed up," John Ramirez said.

Twenty-three days later, the family's A/C unit is still not working. They bought a window unit for the bedroom and Crystal left for her mom's house.

"Family's been displaced. My wife's been staying with her mother, and she has all the animals with her," Ramirez said.

The Ramirez family says they were told back ordered parts were to blame, but they added after we contacted the warranty company, a technician came out the next day.

"I feel like sine you all called them, they got someone out here to fix it," homeowner Crystal Ramirez said.

The family says when the delays started, they wanted a different repair company to come to the home.

Monica Russo with the Better Business Bureau has a helpful tip when it comes to dealing with home warranty companies.

"During research of a home warranty company, ask them in advance for a list of their providers and then cross reference those with ratings that you find online, ratings that you'll find on the BBB's website. And see if those providers have complaints, and if they do how they resolved them," Russo said.
