Window Genie Announces Grand Opening on June 2nd

    - May 16, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Louisville, KY (PRWEB) May 16, 2014

Window Genie is a nationally ranked home service franchise offering window cleaning, window tinting, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and more. Louisville native Charlie Caravello is the owner/operator and will officially open Window Genie for business on Monday June 2nd. Window Genie of Louisville will service Prospect, St. Matthews, Anchorage, Jeffersontown and surrounding areas.

Before joining the Window Genie team, Caravello spent approximately 15 years in medical sales calling directly on hospitals. In any sales career you go through peaks and valleys. For the last few years, every time I dipped into a valley I felt I wasnt in control of my success so I would consider looking into business ownership. I never got completely serious about it until this past winter because I think ultimately, I wasnt ready mentally or financially until now, Caravello said. I did my homework and landed on a few service oriented, low investment companies to evaluate. Window Genie caught my eye when I noticed it was ranked on Franchise Business Reviews list of top franchises for franchise owner satisfaction.

Caravello reached out to Window Genie and began a validation process, speaking with the corporate support staff as well as current Window Genie franchisees. I just felt like wow these guys have their act together when speaking to everyone at Window Genie throughout my process; you could feel the professionalism was consistent and trickled down to the whole system. Because I had been doing research on business ownership for the last few years I felt I had a grasp on what I wanted and did not want out of a franchising opportunity, and I never saw a red flag with Window Genie. It got to a point where Id wake up every day more excited with my to-do list for Window Genie than my current job. I knew Id found something that would keep me motivated, excited and therefore successful every day.

Caravellos first employee is his own father, Chuck Caravello. My parents were both incredibly supportive when I went to them for advice on purchasing a franchise. Theres always a fear or anxiety when taking a chance like opening a business, but having my father on board definitely helps. I know that off the bat I have an employee I completely trust, hell be great with customers and down the road when hes sick of cleaning windows hell know the business as well as I and can help me in the office and with training future employees.

The Caravellos are excited. Charlie said, Im most excited to just get out there, be able to monitor my own results, take responsibility for my success and continue to build the business. I know Ill be wearing many hats but for someone who gets bored with a one dimensional job, thats exactly what I want. I know Ive found what I was looking for in Window Genie.

Women plead guilty in Pittsburgh to tax fraud ring involving inmates info

    - May 16, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Published: Thursday, May 15, 2014, 1:57p.m. Updated 14 hours ago

Three women admitted Thursday in court they filed false federal tax returns and set up bank accounts in Georgia and Pennsylvania to handle the refunds.

Heather A. Smith, 26, and Astrid P. Perry, 37, both of Summerville, Ga., and Beverly J. McHenry, 57, of Rome, Ga., pleaded guilty in federal court Downtown to wire fraud conspiracy. The defendants admitted using Social Security numbers and other personal information from Georgia inmates and others to scam the government.

U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer scheduled Perry's and McHenry's sentencings for Sept. 26 and Smith's sentencing for Sept. 30.

Working with at least five other people, including Frank Smith, 69, of the Hill District, they used the Internal Revenue Service's direct deposit option to funnel stolen tax dollars into accounts for fake businesses that ranged from tax and accounting services to home repair and gutter-cleaning services, prosecutors said.

Frank Smith pleaded guilty in October to the conspiracy and is serving a three-year prison sentence. The ring filed at least 595 false returns for the 2010 and 2011 tax years and sought about $1.9 million in fraudulent refunds, Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Melucci said in court documents.

Grass Seed That Saves Money, Water & The World

    - May 16, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    (PRWEB) May 15, 2014

The White Houses Report on Climate Change this last week stated that wildfires, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, droughts and more extreme weather are here to stay. Here are a few simple solutions that can help people do their share to save the earth while at the same time saving money, time and water. One of the most effective solutions is around the home, it's keeping the grass fresh.

Cities and states across America spend lots of money to respond to natural weather related disasters after the fact; even better some cities like Philadelphia are adopting major steps to lessen "extreme heat events".

The average person who worries that government and corporate response may not be fast enough, and would prefer to do something positive NOW; can take steps to lessen the impact of the extremes.

One simple solution is to save water, money and time by planting Pearl's Premium Ultra Low Maintenance Lawn Seed because it is a grass with very deep roots (12 inch) that requires very low water usage. A grass such as Pearl's Premium can be seeded right over your existing lawn to look like this:

Pearl's Premium is not just a beautiful grass, it requires only 1/3 to 1/4 the water of other grasses and is much more drought tolerant because it grows 12-14 inch deep roots (if it can go deep) and grows very slowly. Pearl's Premium has more surface area on the blades of grass and deeper roots, it can produce up to 5,760 times the oxygen compared to other grasses. It also sequesters up to 2 tons of carbon per acre per year out of the air, to be locked into the soil. That is 4 times the carbon sequestering per year compared to ordinary grasses which have 3-4 inch roots.

Pearl's Premium has a lush deep green color everyone enjoys and it is extremely soft. It grows incredibly slow after being established. It can be cut once every 4-6 weeks for a well-manicured area, as opposed to weekly with most grass; Pearl's can be not cut at all! It can be left to lean over as a No-Mow type grass. If left to lean over, Pearl's Premium is an ultra low maintenance 3-4 inch-tall meadow for back yards and other residential, municipal or commercial applications! The below picture, is Pearls Premium grass leaned over in a No-Mow type application without mowing for 2 years:

After creating a less thirsty more sustainable lawn that produces far more oxygen for our air and also sequesters far more beneficial carbon into the earth; there are a lot more things you can do to help the environment. You can recycle more, reduce your heat in the winter and AC in the summer, change as many light bulbs to CFL or LED lights, drive smarter with tires inflated, use public transit when possible, buy more energy efficient products and turn off lights when you leave the room.

Why focus on grass as the easiest and highest impact solution to address climate change? It is both easy to implement just seeding a better grass seed over your existing lawn and there is a heck of a lot of grass out there. NASA expert Dr. Cristina Milesi says there are 32 million acres of grass in the US alone and it is part of the climate change problem, (see: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/Lawn/) therefore Pearl's Premium can be part of the solution. All grasses are not created equal. One grass called Grassology that home improvement expert Bob Vila raves about uses far less water, requires less mowing and grows deep roots. However, the next generation grass after Grassology is named Pearl's Premium and it uses even less water and saves even more time.

TIME: The EPA says that the average homeowner spends 40 hours per summer dealing with the home lawn grass. What if you could have an ultra low maintenance grass with deep roots? What if your lawn was much more drought tolerant, saving 3/4 of your lawn time because Pearls Premium requires far less maintenance, watering, mowing, or ever having to chemically fertilize the lawn? You could use, the 30 hours you save with your Pearls Premium lawn (on average), helping mom or your significant other, playing with the children or your dog, engaging in that hobby you never have time for. Lawn Care Error Kills Most Of Ohio College's Grass

    - May 16, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) A university in northwest Ohio is being forced to replace almost all its grass after weedkiller was accidentally applied to lawns instead of fertilizer.

University of Findlay spokeswoman Brianna Patterson says the chemical was applied to campus lawns during the last week of April and it will take several weeks to reseed and re-sod the affected areas.

Patterson tells the Findlay Courier (http://bit.ly/1k7MJ30 ) for a story Friday the mistake is unfortunate because of how hard the university works to keep the campus looking nice.

Findlay University did not release the name of the company that made the mistake but is working with the business' insurance company to pay for it to be fixed.

The university says grass was killed on as many as 54 of the campus' 72 acres.

    Verdict

Fitzgutentyte was in good form over hurdles and fences last summer but hasn't been seen since July. She could just need this but Solstice Knight is respected as he arrives on a 14lb lower mark than over hurdles and showed himself ready to win again soon with a very good effort at Wexford in March. RAISE HELL has been steadily improving and produced his best run to date over fences when last seen at Thurles in November. He makes his handicap debut here and looks the one to beat. Fourth Class is inconsistent and followed his victory at Kilbeggan in August with a poor run there the following month.
