Russell Westbrook is coming off one of his best seasons, having posted a career high in rebounds and another in assists that was enough to lead the N.B.A. And for the fourth time in five seasons, he averaged the vaunted triple-double, typically defined as reaching double-digit numbers in points, rebounds and assists. Before Westbrook, it seemed almost impossible to average a triple-double once, much less multiple times.
But those numbers werent good enough to land him on the All-Star team last season, the first time the 32-year-old hadnt been selected since 2014. It was in part because his Washington Wizards were not very good. But the Wizards barely making the playoffs was a perfect microcosm of the general debate about Westbrooks legacy: Its not a sure thing that Westbrooks style of play is conducive to winning basketball, even with his gaudy numbers.
And now Westbrook is with the Los Angeles Lakers, traded for the third time in three years. Former Most Valuable Player Award winners like Westbrook typically do not play for four different teams in successive seasons while still putting up numbers comparable to when they won the honor.
Westbrook will again have superstar teammates, this time LeBron James and Anthony Davis on an unequivocally so-called superteam. On paper, this new iteration of stars assembled to chase a championship should easily compete with teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, the reigning champions, and the Nets, both of whom have star trios of their own.
This will most likely be the best chance Westbrook has had to win a championship.
These Lakers are better than the Oklahoma City Thunder team Westbrook helped take to the finals in 2012 alongside a young Kevin Durant and James Harden, where the three M.V.P.s-to-be were outmatched against the James-led Miami Heat superteam. These Lakers are more talented than the 2017-18 Thunder team with Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, which bowed out in the first round of the playoffs. When Westbrook reunited with Harden now a bona fide star in Houston in 2019-20, Jamess Lakers easily dispatched them in the postseasons second round. And it goes without saying that the current Lakers team is better than last seasons Wizards, even though Westbrook was playing with Bradley Beal, one of the leagues best scorers.
Westbrook has not lacked for star teammates, but he has lacked the success that is expected to come with having them, and that may be an indictment of his style of play: high-volume scoring, weak shooting and elite rebounding that is devalued in favor of shooting. Some of this is also an indictment of the rosters Westbrook has played with. The 2017-18 Thunder team had an ill-fitting Anthony, who had difficulty adjusting to a lesser role. In Houston, the Rockets traded away center Clint Capela and opted to play small ball, which had limited effectiveness. In Washington, the Wizards dealt with injuries to key players, like Rui Hachimura and Thomas Bryant, and were hampered by a coronavirus outbreak.
But if Westbrook cant figure out how to win next to James and Davis, who won a championship with some of the players the Lakers traded for Westbrook, it will be a blow to Westbrooks legacy.
After Durant left the Thunder in 2016, Westbrook became the focal point, and the Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round for three straight years.
A large part of the issue with Westbrook is that he has been an inefficient scorer for much of his career. His career true shooting percentage which accounts for free throws and 3-pointers is 52.8 percent, whereas the league average is around 55 percent. And he takes up a lot of possessions to score his points as a result.
His defense has also been suspect.
This is where his joining James and Davis makes for a fascinating, and potentially treacherous, situation. Two of the players the Lakers traded for Westbrook Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were helpful defensively and with floor spacing. That meant they didnt need the ball in their hands to make their presence felt on the floor. Kuzma shot 36.1 percent from 3 last season, while Caldwell-Pope was at 41 percent. Westbrooks career average from 3 is 30.5 percent. A data point helpful to Westbrook: Kuzma shot only 31.6 percent from 3 in the Lakers championship year.
The fit with Westbrook, James and Davis will be a mad experiment. Westbrook needs the ball in his hands to be effective, while James usually runs his teams offense. Jamess best teams have been loaded with shooters to toss the ball to when he drives into the paint. Davis is one of the most offensively skilled big men but, like Westbrook, inconsistent from 3, at 31.2 percent for his career. Even James is a career 34.5 percent shooter from deep around average.
This means the Lakers will presumably start three players who arent the most reliable shooters in todays N.B.A., which is so dependent on efficient offense generated by spacing. The Lakers have some counters with their other additions: Kent Bazemore, Anthony and Wayne Ellington all of whom shot better than 40 percent from 3 last season.
Westbrooks career usage rate how often he uses possessions is 32.51 percent, second to only Michael Jordan in N.B.A. history. James is fifth at 31.55 percent. If Westbrook is using more possessions than James next season, something has gone terribly wrong. For the Lakers to be at their best, Westbrook is going to have to take a back seat, and some players think Allen Iverson dont adjust well to that, because their skills and ego dont allow them to.
Players have steadily complimented Westbrook as a teammate. But does he know that he will have to watch the ball a lot more than hes used to? With the Wizards last season, according to the leagues tracking numbers, Westbrooks usage percentage with Beal on the floor was about 26 percent, compared with 33.9 percent when Beal was off. For Beal, his rate was at about 29.8 percent with Westbrook on, and 38.2 with him off. But the Wizards didnt have a third player of Daviss caliber.
Westbrook will be helpful if he plays to his strengths. He is a relentless slasher and because of his ball-handling and penetration, he will create easier shots for James and Davis. He also pushes the fast break. The Lakers were 21st in pace last season, making them one of the slowest teams, while Westbrooks Wizards were the fastest. Westbrook plays every possession as if he is trying to outrun a vengeful lightning bolt, and thats if hes not the lightning bolt himself. That will help the Lakers add a new dimension to their offense: Westbrook and James are among the best fast-break players the league has seen.
Westbrooks days of averaging a triple-double are most likely behind him. Davis and James are exceptional rebounders and playmakers, leaving less for Westbrook to put on his plate, at least statistically. But Westbrooks addition to the Lakers, as well as that of Dwight Howard and Anthony, makes this one of the most intriguing roster constructions in the last decade.
But if Westbrook is unable to jell with his latest batch of star teammates, the Lakers may end up being an ill-fitting, must-watch mess.

Loved and Lost: Memorializing victims of COVID-19 in NJ
Loved and Lost is a project about memorializing those lost to COVID-19 in NJ.
NorthJersey.com
This story is part of Loved and Lost, a statewide media collaboration working to celebrate the life of every New Jersey resident who died of COVID-19. To learn moreandsubmit a loved one's name to be profiled, visit lovedandlostnj.com.
Roel Inocentes loved traveling the world, going out to new restaurants, and having a good time in his "man cave." That joie de vivre perfectly reflected his outlook on life.
"He would always tell us, 'You got to enjoy your life, every second of it, because you never know when your time is up,'"his daughter, Marielle Inocentes, said.
The Dumont resident died on Feb. 12, 2021. He was 58 years old.
Roel took trips with his wife, Ellen, and their family to various locales including France, Spain and Mexico. He and his daughter were foodies who loved to eat out at restaurants several times a week.
"He traveled a lot and he would spend all his money and he would buy all these things that he wanted, and we always used to tell him, 'What are you doing?'" Marielle said. "He would say, 'Who cares? Money comes and goes. Your time on this earth is very limited so do what you want to do. "
Roel also loved building additions to his home, including a treehouse that his daughters and later his grandchildren were able to enjoy. And there was his special space where he listened to his favorite songs including Dont Dream Its Over by Crowded House and You Are the Reason by Ramsey Lewis.
A native of the Philippines who emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1990s, Roel also was remembered as a hard worker who spent over 20 years in his new country working for several clothing companies in New York City.
"He would catch the bus at 6:30 a.m. and get to his office in the Empire State Building by 8 a.m. He wouldn't return home until 7:30 at night, said Marielle. "And so many of his co-workers loved him.
In fact, those co-workers paid for his funeral, she said.
But his strong work ethic did not deter him from making time for his wife and daughters, Marielle and Mara, and his grandchildren, Mason, Harley and Nova
"They're sad but they have taken everything that they learned from my dad and you can see it, Marielle said of the grandkids. All their gestures, all the things that they say and talk about, it's pretty much all from my dad."

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have loaded up for the stretch run, but their roster is still evolving. On Friday afternoon, they activated one of their newest additions, Trea Turner, and worked him out at the relatively new position of second base. Meanwhile, one of their biggest stars, Cody Bellinger, came to grips with life as a part-time player and their longtime ace, Clayton Kershaw, pondered a return before October.
Kershaw, who hasn't pitched since July 3, is still shut down from throwing because of soreness around his left elbow, though Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expects him to resume playing catch "relatively soon." His elbow is still recovering from a three-inning simulated game that took place on July 27, a setback Kershaw blamed on ramping back up too quickly.
"It's frustrating," Kershaw said. "It's still nothing serious, but it's just something that's gonna take a little bit of time. It's no fun. Being hurt is miserable. I really don't enjoy it at all, especially with what we have here and the guys that we have coming in. This stretch run right now -- I wanna be part of it so bad. I wanna do everything that I can to be back, and I think I will be. But it's definitely looking more like September than August. I know we're still gonna be in the middle of it, so I'm excited to be a part of it then."
The Dodgers began their weekend series against the crosstown Los Angeles Angels 3 1/2 games behind the San Francisco Giants for first place in the National League West. Bellinger, batting only .168 while fighting mechanical flaws that are at least partly a byproduct of offseason shoulder surgery, was out of the starting lineup even though the Dodgers were off the previous day. Roberts said Bellinger, a left-handed hitter, will essentially transition into a platoon player for the foreseeable future, starting against righties and sitting against lefties.
1 Related
Turner, a shortstop by trade, will get the vast majority of his plate appearances as a second baseman so that Corey Seager can stay at his natural position. Chris Taylor will start in center field against lefties -- as he did on Friday -- and also provide cover in left field. Bellinger, the 2019 National League MVP, will see his playing time cut by at least a third. Gavin Lux, the former top prospect who has yet to establish himself in the major leagues, is basically out of a job as he rehabilitates a hamstring injury.
"Every single night, there's gonna be a great player that's not getting the start," Roberts said. "That's just kind of where we're at. I'll divvy up playing time with workload. But right now, where we're at in the schedule, we have to win baseball games. We're four games back in the loss column and we gotta win. Every single night, with respect to workload and workload management, I need to put the best guys out there that I feel can win a ballgame that night."
Turner was the Washington Nationals' regular shortstop over the last five years but previously spent some time in center field and at second base. Upon arriving to L.A., Turner told the Dodgers he would be more comfortable remaining on the infield. Roberts said he "embraced" the idea of playing second base for what remains of this season.
"Obviously he sees himself as a shortstop, as he should," Roberts said. "But understanding our roster, second base made sense to him and he understands it gives us the best chance to win a championship."
The Dodgers have a plethora of position-player depth but are still waiting for several of their pitchers to get healthy. Kershaw is the biggest name, but fellow starters Tony Gonsolin (shoulder inflammation) and Danny Duffy (flexor strain) also reside on the injured list. Cole Hamels, signed to a major league contract earlier this week, still needs to build arm strength after making only one start since the end of the 2019 season. Victor Gonzalez, their best left-handed reliever, went on the IL Friday with knee inflammation. And Jimmy Nelson, a former starter who excelled as a reliever this season, has opted for Tommy John surgery.
At full strength -- without counting Trevor Bauer, who faces sexual-assault allegations that have kept him away from the team since early July -- the Dodgers boast eight highly capable starting pitchers, a list that includes Max Scherzer, Walker Buehler, Julio Urias, David Price, Kershaw, Hamels, Gonsolin and Duffy.
But only half of them are active -- and Kershaw is still on the mend.
"We're gonna rest as long as we can," Kershaw said, "to give myself a good chance to pitch in September, pitch some meaningful games in September and be ready to go in October."

Whats The Grind Line? Apart from the once-famous line of Kris Draper, Kirk Maltby, and either Joe Kocur or Darren McCarty, The Grind Line is also The Hockey Writers weekly column about the Detroit Red Wings. This week Tony Wolak, Devin Little, Patrick Brown, Kyle Knopp and Jeff Middleton are the muckers who make up THWs forechecking unit and sound off on Red Wings topics.
Last week we shared our thoughts on the Detroit Red Wings offseason as a whole. Now were getting specific.
To recap, the Red Wings have added or re-signed the following players:
They also added eight players in the draft, with defenseman Simon Edvinsson and goalie Sebastian Cossa coming in the first round of the entry draft.
Needless to say, its been a busy summer in Hockeytown, but which moves stand out the most? Heres what moves give our Grinders that warm fuzzy feeling inside:
Goalies you cant live with them, cant live without them. Except for Nedeljkovic and Cossa theyre great.
Starting with Nedeljkovic, the 25-year-old netminder was lights out for the Carolina Hurricanes last season and finally gives the Red Wings a goalie to build around. While its fair to assume some regression will take place, Ned is exactly the goalie the Red Wings need to start building for a playoff push. Yes, theyve reached that stage in their rebuild playoffs may not happen this season, but 2022-23 could be very interesting.
As for Cossa, the Red Wings havent had a blue-chip goaltending prospect since Chris Osgood? Seriously. Petr Mrazek was a nice find, but was never the long-term answer. Think about that Cossa is the best Red Wings goalie prospect since Osgood who retired after a long NHL career in 2011 when Cossa was only eight years-old.

Neeraj Chopra's historic gold medal in the men's javelin event in Tokyo on Saturday brought the nation's Olympics performance to a spectacular close. The 22-year-old athlete's gold medal -- the nation's first in a track and field event since it gained independence from Britain -- consolidated India's greatest ever performance at the Games, winning a total of seven medals.
And when Chopra arrived in India's capital New Delhi Monday afternoon, a mob thronged to the airport to catch a glimpse of their new national hero. Videos of huge crowds surrounding the athlete have come to symbolize what his victory means for the world's second most-populous nation.
Speaking at a news conference Saturday, the Chief Minister of the northern state of Haryana, where Chopra is from, told reporters proudly: "The Haryana boy has left his mark."
India's historic medal haul comes as the nation is still reeling from the aftermath of a devastating second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The country has witnessed more than 428,000 Covid-19 deaths and almost 32 million infections, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, which pushed hospitals to the brink of collapse and overwhelmed the country's healthcare system.
Set against this backdrop, Indian athletes have managed to ignite a fresh sense of national pride among a still mourning nation.
India defeated Germany to win bronze in men's field hockey -- its first medal in that sport in 41 years. The women's team came extremely close, losing to Britain in the bronze medal match, but earned praise and respect from millions across the country. The nation won either silver or bronze medals in five other events.
India's success has also placed a spotlight on the country's comparatively poor sporting infrastructure and the numerous disadvantages faced by Indian athletes, including the fact that many are not full time sportspeople.
Traditionally seen as a one-sport country because of its cricketing success, India experienced a "small turning point" in 2008, according to Nalin Mehta, co-author of "Dreams of a Billion: India and the Olympic Games," after air rifle shooter, Abhinav Bindra, won the nation's first gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.
"There was serious intent at a government level to put more money into sports," he said. "There was a sense that this could be a winner. A new sense of nationalism that would elevate India globally."
The government stepped up efforts to elevate the country's sporting profile on the international stage. Four years later in London, the country took home six medals -- its second most successful Olympic medal tally.
In 2016, the nation's unsatisfactory performance at the Rio Olympics -- one silver and one bronze medal -- prompted authorities to further boost funding.
Two years later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide program 'Khelo India' or 'Let's Play India' to "revive the sports culture in India" with the aim of identifying and funding promising young talent.
Many hope that this year's Olympic performance will usher in a new era in Indian sport -- one where its athletes are given a platform to excel and grow.
Bandana Chhetri, partner at FairPlay sports, which manages top Indian athletes, believes that Chopra's win will become a "watershed moment" in sports in India.
"I hope that a lot of young children are inspired," she said. "I want Indian sport to grow even more rapidly than it has been for last few years. The sustained efforts of everyone involved -- the Sports Ministry, the private funders, the coaches and more -- will be the only way to see India break even more records on the global stage."
Mehta said that he had never seen anything like this year's Games "in his entire lifetime."
"I've never seen Indians show such enthusiasm and celebration for our Olympic athletes. After a tough year, it's a huge emotional lifter," he said.
He emphasized that he would work harder to elevate sport in the country.
"This is the time to keep working to further popularize sports at the grassroots, so that new talent emerges and gets the opportunity to represent India in the times to come," he wrote.
In New Delhi on Monday night, Chopra walked onto a large stage for the Indian Olympic Champions' Felicitation Ceremony.
"This gold medal is not only mine," he said. "It belongs to India."

As Nova Scotia moves to achieve net-zero greenhouse gasemissions by 2050, researchers and advocates say the province should tap into an underappreciated piece of public infrastructure: private buildings.
In Nova Scotia, nearly half of those emissions come from residential and non-residential buildings. It is due to the province's high proportion of older buildings, oil furnaces and carbon-intensive energy grid.
In places like Halifax, the figure is even higher. Seventy per cent of the municipality's emissions come from buildings.
A recent report from Efficiency Canada estimated that it will take nearly a century and a half at current rates to make the country's existing low-rise residential buildings more energy efficient.
With a need to reduce emissions, officials and organizations in Nova Scotia are putting forward projects and policies that could help pick up the pace.
One potential model for retrofits is being proposed for an apartment building on Lawrence Street in Halifax.
Nick Rudnicki, one of the managing directors of the ReCover initiative, said the simple building is the study site for a project that would use modular panels to upgrade the building in a month or less.
"We studied it to heck last spring, and we determined that we could build panels that contained the windows, already had all the siding installed, had all the insulation installed, and attach them to the exterior of the building."
This retrofit would make the building net zero without requiring tenants to move out during renovations.
The speed of the approach would accelerate the pace of retrofitting, but it does have one significant barrier.
"There's just the sheer cost of it at the moment the risk that's sort of baked inby it not being a proven concept yet," said Rudnicki.
"You go to lending agencies, you go to granting agencies in the public and private sector, and they're like, 'We don't have paperwork for this.'"
The concept has been proven in other places. However, the ReCover initiative is following a Dutch model called Energiesprong, whereby modular panels, plus rooftop solar arrays and heating upgrades, have been used to make public housing net zero in that country.
Similar projects are also being tried in other countries, including in Ottawa, where a social housing provider has partnered with Natural Resources Canada on a pilot project involving the installation of prefabricated panels and solar panels on four townhouses.
Rudnicki said he hopes to see more policymakers supporting these kinds of initiatives, including adjusting the funding structure to support extensiveretrofits.
In Halifax, the municipality is looking at ways to encourage larger retrofitsas part of the city's emissions reduction strategy.
Kevin Boutilier, clean energy specialist with the city's environment and climate change division, said in order to meet targets of a 75 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030, and net zero by 2050, the municipality will have to do deep retrofits (meaning a 50 per cent reduction in energy demand) on all residential and non-residential buildings by 2040.
In July, regional council approved a pilot project that aims to help the city meet this goal, which will operate similar to the Solar City initiative. The city would coverthe upfront costs of solar panels and residents would pay them back over 10 years.
Boutilier says the details are still being worked out, but it will likely cover upgrades such as heat pumps, insulationand transitions to less carbon-intensive heating fuel. The pilot project will also create a position to help residents navigate the retrofit process.
The project will fund a maximum of 50 homes at approximately $70,000 each, for a total of $3.5 million. Boutilier said the price tagreflects the fact that they want homeowners to do a full retrofitrather than choosing simpler options such as heat pumps.
"We really want to offer the full package so that the average payback of all the items together is reasonable to property owners."
But in order to meet the city's targets, retrofits will have to scale up significantly from the project's 50 homes to roughly 5,000 a year. "We don't see the municipality as a bank for that scale," said Boutilier.
He noted that the municipality has also received grant funding to look into how the city could partner with third-party institutions to offer funding for more retrofits. Thatcould include options like the modular approach ReCover is developing.
"We're 100 per cent open to the technologies that may come to light in the next couple of years," said Boutilier.
An open letter signed by a number of Nova Scotiaorganizations is also calling for measures at the provincial level, including the adoption of a net-zero building code by 2022, and the elimination of on-site fossil fuels from existing buildings by 2030, with a particular focus on low-income homeowners.
Changes are also needed nationally, said Brendan Haley, policy director with Efficiency Canada.
"To meet [Canada's] climate change goals, we really have to retrofit buildings at a scale that has never before been achieved."
Rather than being considered as one-offindividual projects, Haley said retrofitting should be thought of as upgrading the country's infrastructure.
Thinking of retrofits in this way could not only help Canadians understand the collective impact of buildings, but could also help fund upgrades, Haley said for instance, by grouping a bunch of retrofits together so that they can be financed collectively.
Even with policies in place, funding retrofits for the country's buildings would be expensive.
Efficiency Canada estimates it would cost up to $32 billion a yearover the next three decades. Nonetheless it is essentialfor the country to meet its commitments on, and prepare for, the effects of climate change, Haley said.
"Something we're really going to have to think about in the future is the role of buildings and adaptation to climate impacts," he said.
While the retrofit goals proposed by Efficiency Canada and those set in places like Halifax are ambitious, Haley said they are achievable, provided the collective impact of individual buildings is acknowledged.

In our extreme South Florida weather, the importance of a structurally sound roof cannot be understated. One Miami Gardens roofing company is setting the standard for service and showing how important it is to cover your community.
Supreme Roofing and Construction has been owned by Deric T. Smith, a Miami Gardens native, for over 15 years. Their products and services include shingles, low slopes, rubber, tile and metal roofs; installation of windows, shutters and doors, and construction of block masonry; rebuilding and repointing chimneys, cleaning gutters, vinyl siding and attic ventilation. Serving Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, they offer in-house financing, PACE financing for climate resilient technologies and free services to clients in need.
The heart of Supreme is not a business for ourselves. Its that we love our community, Smith said. I have a love for the elderly ladies and the children in our community.Recently, Supreme fixed the roof on Pink and Blue Childrens Academy in Miami Gardens.
The roof was bad and they had babies in there, Smith said. So while the typical bill for that type of service would have been close to $23,000, his company fixed the roof free-of-charge.
Smith believes philanthropy is his responsibility as a business owner. My company motto is, we do it right because we love to sleep at night. Thats why the company regularly participates in food giveaways, donating school supplies, sponsoring local events and helping the elderly.
Supreme is also involved in charity events including an upcoming school supply drive in August, a Thanksgiving food and toy drive for homeless shelters in Miami-Dade and Broward, and a hurricane prep seminar. Theyll also provide meals at a workshop teaching the elderly how to avoid uncertified contractors and scammers. And throughout the pandemic, the company was able to donate personal protective equipment, water, and sanitizer to those in need.
A Business Administration major in college, Smith never thought he would get into roofing.
His mother, who was a roofing sales rep for a large company, was his inspiration.
His business has held strong for almost two decades and has now survived the COVID-19 pandemic. Supreme saw demand increase as people made home improvements, and now, as they prepare to brace for hurricane season, demand continues to grow.
Smith said he doesnt advertise much, he just keeps his business at the pulse of community affairs. Ninety-two percent of my business is through word of mouth, which speaks to the quality of service we provide, he said.
Offering a word of encouragement to future business owners and community members, he said, encourage kids to not only play sports, but to be in STEM. We have to educate and do things for ourselves and our communities. We need to do better for our communities.

It was at about this time last year when the derecho wind storm ravaged Perry and lay waste to a wide swathe of central Iowa.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but trees were split and power lines downed by the 90 mph winds, leaving many people without electricity for days and causing damage that is in some cases still under repair.
The Gamble Block at 1203 Second St. suffered extensive damage to its roof and southwest upper corner in the devastating derecho. Demolition of a portion of the third story preceded the restoration, which is ongoing and has closed one block of Warford Street for two months.
The derecho winds blew out the large plate-glass windows of the Harbach building at 1108 Second St., the onetime home of Woolworths department store and later Spurgeons womenswear store. The owners of the property recently announced plans to install replacement windows and siding on the Second Street storefront.
A portion of the roof was torn off the new home of TCB Corporate Wearables in the Perry Industrial Park but in the year since, the sportswear maker came back stronger with a repaired roof and a new addition to the former spec building.
Perry-area farmers suffered an estimated $9.3 million in damaged crops, but this years yield promises to be a barn buster.
The resilience of Perrys residents from householders to shopkeepers to industrialists was tested by the high winds, and we withstood the storm. Scars remain to mark the catastrophic weather event, which we pray does not become a regular feature of the altered climate of the Great Plains.

Roof Works of Toms River can also provide emergency roofing services for residential properties. These include: emergency roof repair for various kinds of roofs and blue tarp services. They have specialists in storm damage repair caused either by wind or hail.
They can also provide a free 21-point residential roofing inspection. This inspection will be done to check on various items, including: overall roof and exterior health; siding and windows condition; possible leak spots; storm, wind, and hail damage; roofs structural integrity; roof seals; missing and broken shingles; chimney and skylight flashings; moisture issues, gutter and debris build up; mold or algae / plant growth; and fascia and soffit.
And finally, they can provide gutter replacement services for residential properties. The rain gutters are also important because these are responsible for effectively channeling the flow of rain water from the roof through the downspouts, and direct the water to the proper areas outside the home. Without the gutters, the roof can accumulate leaves and other debris, with the result that water can stagnate on the roof and overflow, possibly causing the roof to rust and rot. The gutters also prevent the water from settling around the basement and seeping into the foundation, which may weaken structural support.
