IRG Offers Latest Trends in Kitchen and Bathroom Countertops for Spring

    - May 1, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Brisbane, CA (PRWEB) May 01, 2014

Spring is the time for changes to homes with construction and remodeling, and Integrated Resources Group is offering the latest spring trends for kitchen and bathroom countertops. Integrated Resources Group is helping customers looking to remodel bring the outdoors inside, with a mixture of modern design and natural stone for the spring season.

Situated within a relatively compact area, San Francisco features narrow-fronted deep lots best suited to Victorian row house architecture. With land in the city at a premium, there has been an historical precedent for much of the architecture to be insular in nature, said interior designer Jeff Schlarb. It is only fairly recently that we have sought to create the connection to the outdoors enjoyed by residents of other cities.

Integrated Resources Group offers a large selection of natural stone of all different types, which can be used to create beautiful kitchen and bathroom countertops as well as flooring. Those looking to stay on trend this season are sure to enjoy the natural look that IRGs stone gives.

Integrated Resources Group is located at 275 Valley Drive, Brisbane, CA 94005. For more information on Integrated Resources Groups products and services, call 415-287-9844 or 831-484-9600 or visit http://www.marblecompany.com.

    About the Company:

Integrated Resources Group offers the largest selection of natural stone in the San Francisco Bay Area. The family-owned business started as a trading company in 1986 dealing in agricultural products, canned food, apparel and natural stone. With a growing reputation for its high-quality natural stone and excellent service, the company relocated the business to a vast warehouse and showroom in Brisbane, where they now carry more than 250 types of stone. The company opened a second showroom and warehouse in Dublin to service East Bay customers. Its products include stone, exotics, glass tile, engineered stone and more. For information on the products and services of Integrated Resources Group, the Bay Areas marble and granite company, call 415-657-0280, visit http://marblecompany.com/ or come into either of their two locations.

Zoning board OKs fire hall addition

    - May 1, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

April 30, 2014 Zoning board OKs fire hall addition

    Randy Griffith rgriffith@tribdem.com The Tribune-Democrat Wed Apr 30, 2014, 11:14 PM EDT

JOHNSTOWN New offices and conference areas planned for Richland Township Volunteer Fire Departments Scalp Avenue headquarters also will create a new main entrance for the public.

A 30-by-70-foot addition at the front of the building on the Cemetery Road side is the largest of five additions planned for the facility, Keith Gindlesperger of H.F. Lenz Co. told the township zoning hearing board this week.

The intent is to add on offices, meeting rooms and other business-related functions, Gindlesperger said. It will be a more community-friendly entrance with signage.

Although the facilitys banquet room is easy to find, visitors looking for the fire departments business office often end up walking in through the garage bays, he said..

This will improve safety and also consolidate some of the business operations from the Geistown station, he said, noting that the changes at Scalp Avenue will free more space for fire operations at the Geistown building.

The zoning board unanimously approved the setback variance required for the expansion on the Cemetery Road side of the building along with another setback variance for a 15-by-90-foot storage area expansion on the Route 219 off-ramp side.

Coroner building omitted from county capital plan

    - May 1, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

GENEVA Kane County Coroner Rob Russell who has spent his first term advocating for new facilities said he is disappointed a new building isnt among the 98 projects included in the countys five-year capital improvement plan.

I dont understand how anybody could think that this office is not in need of a new facility, he said. Im very concerned about the possibility of ADA or OSHA violations in this building.

Kane County Board members received a copy of the capital improvement recommendations at Tuesdays Committee of the Whole meeting, where staff stressed the plan is fluid.

The list includes additions at the judicial center, HVAC controls upgrades, boiler replacements, carpet replacements, vehicle replacements and sidewalk repairs.

While the coroners office has $76,000 allocated this year for a new walk-in refrigerator and new morgue freezer, it is absent from the improvements eyed for 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Board member Phil Lewis, R-St. Charles, said the coroners office is in desperate need of a new building, and he would like to see it on the list.

Board Chairman Chris Lauzen said Wednesday he expects the coroner building, as well as other projects, will be added to the capital improvement plan a comment that Russell said is encouraging.

The coroner noted how other county offices, such as the sheriff, have gained new facilities.

I dont understand how [the coroners office] cannot be part of the conversation considering I have news articles from more than 20 years ago stating the building is inadequate, Russell said.

But Lauzen also placed some of the responsibility on Russell, saying the coroner could take some initiative about what type of facility he would want and how much it could cost.

Floored by generosity: Giving back to the community

Flooring supervisor Erwin Vallejo and receiving supervisor Rick Clayburn install flooring at the Hiouchi visitors center. Del Norte Triplicate / Bryant Anderson Parks get donations of materials and labor from Home Depot for visitors center

Thanks to Home Depot, the Redwood National and State Parks visitors center in Hiouchi received a new floor.

Representatives from the Crescent City store ripped out the centers worn out carpeting and installed wood laminate flooring on Thursday. Home Depot donated the materials and installation to give the visitors center a more cheerful look.

Theyve continued to come to the rescue when we needed assistance, said Debi White, north district manager for the Redwood Parks Association in a written statement.

Our mission is to support our partner agencies the National Park Service, California State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service who are entrusted with the care of Northern Californias public lands, but we cant do it alone.

Home Depot has been a partner with Redwood National and State Parks and the Redwood Parks Association for nearly three years. Home Depot employees volunteered their time to clean out the visitors center at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.

Home Depot also donated and installed new flooring at the state parks visitors center during that project, said store managerAlex Campbell. Store employees also volunteered to make some repairs to the Veterans Memorial Hall. Most recently, Home Depot worked with the Take a Bite Out of Blight program to clean up the Crescent City Cemetery last month, Campbell said.

We try to give back to the community as much as we can just to let the community know were not just here to do business with them, he said. Were here to give back and be a part of the community.

White said she is grateful for Home Depots continuing partnership and generosity. Thanks to the new flooring, visitors to the center will have a much better experience, she said.

The parks belong to everyone, White said. When great folks like the Home Depot employees step up to the plate to help, it makes a huge difference.

Protestant church in Wenzhou, China, demolished

    - April 30, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

WENZHOU , China, April 30 (UPI) -- An 85,000-square foot Protestant church in the coastal city of Wenzhou, China, was demolished on orders of the Chinese Communist Party.

The $5 million Sanjiang Church, dominating the city skyline with soaring spires, high ceilings and stained glass and finished in 2013 after six years of construction, was four times the size building permits allowed, officials said. Activists, though, say the demolition was part of a campaign against Christians throughout Zhejiang province, and claim a dozen more churches in the area face demolition.

The demolition ended a month-long standoff between parishioners and authorities.

You have no idea how hard it was for us to build that church, said parishioner Yu Xinwei. The construction came after a twelve-year campaign to fund the church, and donations came from all over the world.

ChinaAid, an organization focused on persecution of Christians and based in Texas, said the church was brought down after comments by a Communist Party provincial secretary, Xia Baolong, who complained crosses atop steeples were too conspicuous and too flashy.

Although religion is closely regulated in China, Wenzhou is nicknamed Chinas Jerusalem. Renmin University anthropologist Cao Nanlai said, Wenzhou people are very well-known for their entrepreneurial spirit, and they express their Christianity through real estate. There have been other churches demolished but this one is the largest.
