The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down for their visit to Elizabeth, in Adelaide's north, where baby Prince George was honoured.
The royal couple flew into Edinburgh RAAF base after spending the night camping under the stars at Uluru.
William and Kate spent only about two hours in Elizabeth - named in honour of the Queen - but all of that time involved the area's young people.
Kate wore a dusty pink Alexander McQueen outfit, with a flared skirt, while William wore a navy suit and maroon tie.
They were met by South Australian Governor Kevin Scarce and Acting Premier John Rau.
The royal's first stop was at a community music program which offers youths the chance to make and listen to music and engage with the wider music industry. Both the Duke and Duchess had tentative goes on DJ turntables, much to the delight of onlookers.
They saw a demonstration at an adjacent skateboard park before the royals wound up their Adelaide stopover with a civic reception where they mingled with a group of invited guests, all aged under 30.
They also unveiled a plaque renaming the forecourt of the Playford Civic Centre Prince George Plaza, after the nine-month-old son who had been left behind in Canberra.
Unemployment in the area is high, especially youth unemployment, and that's why the royal visit is seen as a much needed boost.
Once a manufacturing hub, the region has been hard hit with closures and the announcement car maker Holden will shut down operations.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have tried their hand at DJing during a visit to a youth centre in Adelaide as part of their Australian tour.
The Royal couple spun the decks at the Northern Sound System, which helps disadvantaged youth learn how to DJ, perform music and cut records, in Elizabeth, a suburb named after William's grandmother.
They both seemed unsure of their mixing prowess at first, each gesturing the other to have a go.
"It's all yours," said William to his wife, before she replied: "William's got lots more experience than I have."
But they soon found their groove and got the hang of things after a bit of help from local DJ Shane Peterer, who remarked: "She was fantastic but he can fly a helicopter. So, horses for courses."
After finding her swing, the Duchess got an applause from the audience and gave a delighted thumbs up.
When asked about his taste in music, William said: "I like house music, I still like a bit of rock and roll and the classics and a bit of R'n'B but I'm not a big heavy metal fan. I'd like to be but I'm not."
Outside the music centre in the Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth, the couple watched a skateboarding display in a skate park and were presented with a customised skateboard for their baby, George.
During their visit the couple also unveiled a plaque for a new office development named Prince George Plaza.
The Royal couple arrived in Adelaide after spending the night sleeping under the stars in a boutique camping resort at Uluru.

WITH a skateboard bearing George's name in tow, the royal couple headed back to Canberra on Wednesday night to be reunited with their little prince ahead of a busy final stage of their Australian tour.
It was Adelaide's turn to get close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Wednesday but with just a few hours open to fans, many were up at Sunrise to get the best seats at public viewing points.
Will and Kate's whirlwind visit to the City of Churches began in the northern suburb of Elizabeth.
Fresh from a visit to Uluru, they were once again welcomed by traditional land owners as they arrived late Wednesday morning.
First stop was youth community centre Northern Sound System where the couple heard about issues impacted young people in the area, namely high unemployment rates.
Dressed in a two piece powder pink suit by Alexander McQueen - the fashion house responsible for the infamous gown donned by Pippa Middleton at the royal wedding - Kate joined her husband for a spin on the centre's DJ decks.
Young members of the Elizabeth Riders group had the chance to show off their skating and bike riding skills - cue custom made skate board gift - at a local skate bowl before the official reception at the Playford Civic Centre where youth unemployment was once again the focus.
Crowds finally got their big chance when the couple walked the length of the civic centre forecourt.
While George wasn't there to see it, his parents unveiled a plaque declaring the forecourt had been re-named "King George Plaza".

A sewer expansion project that will eliminate contamination problems in northern Armstrong County and southern Clarion County was awarded $3.3 million in state funding on Tuesday.
The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority approved a $1,437,705 grant and a $1,905,795 low-interest loan for the Hawthorn Redbank-Redbank Municipal Authority's Area Sanitary Sewer Project.
The municipal authority plans to use the state funding to install nearly 25,800 feet of sewer lines in the Oakridge area of Redbank Township in Armstrong County and the Mayport area of Hawthorn Borough in Clarion County.
The costs associated with this project would have placed an extremely heavy burden on the authority and, in particular, ratepayers, state Sen. Scott Hutchinson, R-Venango, said in a news release. The project will provide a cost-effective solution for wastewater treatment and improve the quality of life for the system's customers.
Hutchinson is chairman of the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee.
The Department of Environmental Protection estimates that more than half of the on-lot septic systems in the area are malfunctioning and contaminating local waterways. This project will address those concerns, state Sen. Don White, R-Indiana, a member of the PENNVEST board, said in the release.

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -
A plan to tie the Colonial Estates area of Jackson County into the city's water system is welcome news to many people who live there. More than 30 homes would be impacted, and the project would be funded with a $600,000 grant from the Mississippi Development Authority.
Howard Tupper lives in Colonial Estates and says while the water looks okay, it's actually not.
"You can't drink it," he said. "It will make you sick. And it smells and sometimes you'll get sediment in it."
A boil water notice is a sign of the times these days in the neighborhood. So are water filters, and plenty of bottled water. County officials are looking to tie the city of Ocean Springs water system into to old antiquated well after sealing it off.
"They have septic tanks, so we know that's not a good system when you've got a well in close proximity to your sewer. These people need water desperately," Ocean Springs Public Works Director Andre Kaufman said.
Lee Abell has lived here for 31 years, and says that change would suit her just fine.
"It certainly would. We've had it for years. You know, it's been bad, as far as the quality of the water, it's been bad ever since I've been out here and that's been a long time.
Jerry Tapp is the president of the neighborhood association. A new water system would put an end to a long running problem.
"Every time we have to dig up a pipe and fix a leak - $1,000, $2,000. We don't have the money to do that," Tapp explained.

Ladner United Church has been a busy place since the renovated and restored building re-opened a couple of weeks ago.
The church has already seen its first memorial service, wedding, evening service, Easter and Sunday services, and community supper.
On April 13, the church held its first Sunday service, which included a special ceremony naming the new fireside room in the building in honour of builder Steve Knoblauch, owner of RAM Construction, who headed the project.
Rev. Jim Short said the church wanted to do something to thank Knoblauch for his contributions.
This weekend, Ladner United is inviting the community to celebrate the reopening with two events. On Saturday, an open house will give residents a chance to see the newly restored and renovated church. Starting at 1 p.m. with a recognition of community donors, the church will open its doors to the public with self-guided tours and displays, music, children's activities and refreshments. The open house runs until 4 p.m. On Sunday, the church will host an evening worship and dedication of the new labyrinth. Dr. Peter Leckie donated the labyrinth in memory of his late wife, who was a United church minister.
The labyrinth dedication will begin at 7 p.m. Ladner United Church, constructed in the Gothic Revival style of architecture, has served the community for 120 years. It opened in 1893 as St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and served that congregation until 1925 when it merged with the Ladner Methodist Church to become Ladner United.
The building has undergone many changes over the years. It was raised in the 1930s to allow for the construction of a basement and a hall was added in 1938. In the 1970s, a large, single-storey addition was undertaken.
