Husband and wife team Kyle and Tania Price recently invested in Maid Right, a leading residential cleaning franchise, and are now open for business.Their plan is to use Maid Right as a vehicle to empower people who want to build their own residential cleaning unit franchises. They also plan on offering top-notch cleaning services to homeowners who are too busy with lifes demands to spend their free time cleaning their house.

For the past month, the Prices have campaigned across the Charlotte area seeking those who want to be their own boss and achieve financial freedom. Both recently left successful corporate careers to pursue their entrepreneurial dream of building a family business of their own.

Tania and I were attracted to Maid Right because the master franchising concept fits our skills and experiences and we get to work with people who would also like to build a business of their own, Kyle says. Kyle and Tanias goal for 2014 is for Maid Right to become a top-tier service provider and add unit franchisees to their team. If we do that the right way, we have the potential to be around for a long time, Tania says.

New Maid Right Owners Help Strengthen Small Business in Greater Charlotte

MaidPro has, once again, bested its competitors by being the only maid services franchise to be named to Franchise Business Reviews annual top 50 ranking for 2014. The woman featured in a photograph that shocked the world last year - that shows her giving birth on the lawn of a medical clinic after she was refused treatment by health officials - has made a full recovery and is in perfect health, as is her five-month-old son, Sabino.

Additionally, the attention her shocking photo received has inspired women's rights activists across the globe to end what they call a pattern of poor indigenous Mexican women being turned away from hospitals while in labor, forcing them to give birth on lawns, patios or parking lots.

The shocking image, taken in October by a passerby, shows 29-year-old Irma Lopez , who is of Mazatec ethnicity, squatting after giving birth, her face contorted in pain and her tiny newborn son still bound by the umbilical cord and lying on the ground.

Norma Eleanor Williams died at her home in Ridgefield on March 19th after a brief illness. She was 69 years old.

She was born in Manchester, Connecticut on December 13, 1944 to Steven D. Williams and Martha Stoughton Williams. She grew up in South Windsor where members of her family had settled in the seventeenth century. She graduated from the MacDuffie School in Springfield, Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Johns College in Annapolis, Maryland in 1967. She worked for IBM in New York until 1983 and held technical and management positions in information systems and internal audit.

She left IBM and enrolled in the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia in 1983. She received a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture in 1986. She moved back to Connecticut that same year. She held professional licenses in Connecticut and New York and worked for several firms before she established her own practice and specialized in historic preservation. She worked on large-scale restoration and preservation projects at the Weir Farm Historic Site in Wilton, Connecticut, at Greenwood Gardens in Short Hills, New Jersey, and at Henry Wadsworth Longfellows house in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and served as president of the societys Connecticut chapter for two terms. She was a founding member of the Connecticut Olmsted Heritage Alliance and served as its first president. She served as the First District Officer for Connecticut in the Historic American Landscape Survey. She was named to the Governors Council on Historic Preservation in 2011.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Madden, by his daughter, Margaret McClennan of Framingham, Massachusetts, and by his two grandsons. She is also survived by two brothers, Steven Williams of Carmel, New York and Christopher Williams of Middletown, Connecticut and by a sister, Nancy Brown of Guilford, Connecticut.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no memorial service. Contributions can be made in her memory to a food bank or to any organization that helps people who are hungry.
