A truck is seen traveling over Sharpes Ferry Bridge in Ocala on Monday.
The Sharpes Ferry Bridge appears to be as good as new.
State transportation officials have announced that repairs to the retaining wall at the bridge were completed last week, and the bridge is fully open to traffic again.
A 250-foot-long section of a that wall at the span along County Road 314 collapsed after Tropical Storm Debby blew through Marion County in June 2012.
The piece that gave way was part of the roadway support on the approach to the bridge.
Taxpayers did not have to shell out any additional money for the repairs, Florida Department of Transportation officials said. The reconstruction was covered under the original contracts warranty.
According to FDOT officials, the Houston-based contractor, Orion Marine, rebuilt the retaining wall and also reinforced and strengthened all of the wall quadrants.
FDOT spokesman Steve Olson said the state did pay roughly $186,200 for inspectors and other managerial services on the project. But the agency has sent a letter to the contractor requesting reimbursement for that cost.
The incident occurred less than three months after the new, $8.2 million bridge had opened to traffic.
The new structure had replaced a narrower iron truss span that dated to the mid-1920s.

After months of being sworn to secrecy, today the crew at Pro Skateboards got to reveal the limited-edition line of Star Wars-themed decks by legendary skateboard maker Santa Cruz. This made for a bit of an unwrap party at the Quinpool Street store, as stock that's been sequestered in the back room until the official release date was finally allowed onto the shelves.
Loads of characters from the Star Wars universe are featuredthere are storm trooper longboards, Boba Fett and Yoda set-ups complete with matching wheels, Han Solo and Princess Leia deckswith no sign of Bizarro universe denizens like Jar Jar Binks and General Grievous. In other words, they are awesome.
Santa Cruz says: "These incredibly unique decks are laser serial numbered with matching numbered Certificates of Authenticity and encased in its own custom foil printed and embossed, foam lined display box."
In other words, Darth Skater isn't going to actually ride one of these around. But for the serious fan of both Star Wars and skateboarding, definitely an object of desire. Pro Skates' one inlay deck is priced at $536, with lower price tags on the rest of the line.
The Santa Cruz promo video, complete with trip to Lucasfilm and cameo from the man in black.

The Bay View sewer project will be good for the environment in Erie County and will make Lake Eries water cleaner.
But the construction to install the sewer system better not harm a rare turtle, Ohio Division of Wildlife officials say.
Erie County officials are being told to make sure Blandings turtle isnt harmed by the project. The Great Lakes turtle is considered threatened in Ohio and endangered in many other states, and its been found in other areas of Erie County.
Wildlife officials also want to make sure the project doesnt harm the Indianabat, an endangered bat species, and Kirtlands warbler, an endangered bird that migrates through Ohio.
At least Erie County health department officials trying to coordinate the project dont have to worry about hurting bears.
A January letter from Ohio Department of Natural Resources real estate official John Kessler to Roberta Acosta, an Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program official in Toledo helping with the project, outlines the steps that must be taken to protect wildlife. The letter notes that the project iswithin the range of the black bear, a state endangered species.
Bears are pretty mobile, though, so the project is not likely to have an impact on this species, Kessler assured Acosta.
Erie County health department officials remain optimistic the county will obtain a big federal grant soon, allowing construction of a sewer line system that will replace aging and leaky septic tank systems blamed for fouling nearby beaches.
Bob England, director of environmental health for the Erie County Health Department, said the department plans to hire a herpetologist to make sure any Blandings turtles hanging aroundthe construction site wont be harmed and submit a report to the state.
State wildlife officials have sought to revive the Blandings turtle population at Erie Countys Sheldon Marsh State Nature Preserve by stocking it with young turtles raised by Cleveland MetroParks and by trapping and removing raccoons, who enjoy munching on turtle eggs.
