Window Genie announces the grand opening of their newest location in Loganville on Monday, February 24th. Dow Lively is the owner/operator. Window Genie is a nationally ranked franchise with 178 units coast to coast. Services include window cleaning, window tinting, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and more.
Before joining the Window Genie team, Dow Lively worked for 18 years in the construction equipment industry doing sales and management. After he was laid off in August of 2013, he said he was, a frustrated senior citizen looking for a job. After spending about a month looking for similar work to what he was used to, Lively decided to expand his options and began considering business ownership. After landing on a website about executive franchise models, he was contacted by Karl Morningstar, franchise consultant at The You Network. Together, they were able to determine what franchise opportunities Lively would be successful and happy pursuing. After eliminating food or retail businesses, due to Livelys need to be out in the community, not locked in a store, they comprised a list of about 30 franchises.
"Window Genie always stood out for its simplicity. I wanted something that wasn't high tech, had low overhead and would connect me to the community," Lively said. "Also, being able to offer a variety of services to fit every home's needs and budget is great."
After attending a Skype call with Window Genie's corporate staff in addition to speaking with existing Window Genie franchise owners, Lively knew he was making the right choice. "I got to hear from the guys in the system what worked, how they felt about the potential of their business and it helped me make my decision. After I left my week of training at the corporate office in Cincinnati I felt very comfortable with the decision I made. This will be a challenge but that's what makes it exciting. I just want to get out there and see what I'm made of."
