Lansing, MI (PRWEB) February 19, 2014
A black mold problem at Meridian Township's Central Fire Station was recently brought to the attention of fire officials. And according to a report from lansingstatejournal.com, because of it, the authorities decided to close down the building. Meanwhile, wanting to help others of the same problem avoid the worst things the fungus could bring, My Cleaning Products recommend two organic-based mold removal sprays.
The report that related the details of the firehouse's closure was posted on February 13, 2014. And based on the things it shared, Meridian Township's fire officials closed down Central Fire Station on that same day.
Actually, even back in November 2012, it was already approved that the station will be replaced, relayed the report. However, it said that due to a conflict between the township officials and residents of a condominium building, the project was delayed. Nevertheless, it stated that the discovery of black mold in various areas of the station left fire officials with no choice.
Because of the deplorable condition the fungus has caused the station, the report said that it was closed following the plea of the firefighters. Temporarily, the firehouse emergency and fire calls, it added will be handled by two other firehouses at 2140 Haslett Road and 3711 Okemos Road.
Here is a part of the post Meridian Township Fire Station Closed Due to Black Mold by My Cleaning Products.
"Meridian Township's Central Fire Station was set to be replaced since 2012. However, no thanks to black mold, the relocation of its personnel and equipments was recently hastened."
"The station was closed on February 13, 2014 after the black mold was discovered in its various sections. According to Meridian Township Fire Chief Fred Cowper, the fungus brought the firehouse in a deplorable condition. And with a plea from the firefighters themselves due to health concerns, he said that they couldn't just wait any longer to move out of the building."
MCP said that mold, especially black mold, brings in various health risks. Examples of them, it enumerated, are allergies, coughing and difficulty in breathing. Besides them, it stated that it could also cause major health problems as lung bleeding.
However, My Cleaning Products said that those health problems and the fungus' other worst effects could be prevented. And the way to do it, it said is to kill mold early.

FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. -
Porches on three row homes in Fountain Hill, Lehigh Co., collapsed Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters and rescue workers responded to the initial report of a structural collapse at 738 Seneca St. The roof of a fourth home appeared to be damaged and crews later took it down themselves. Some people were evacuated from adjoining homes.
"We ended up sticking the cameras through to make sure that there was nobody trapped underneath," said Asst. Chief David Boehrer with the Fountain Hill Fire Department.
He said there were no injuries. Power and gas were cut off but Boehrer said residents would be allowed back inside later Tuesday night once debris was cleaned up.
"If you can get access, try to push the snow off 'cause we're getting rain tomorrow and it's going to even be worse," Boehrer warned.
Joseph Roy, superintendent of the Bethlehem Area School District, said the district was asked to open Fountain Hill Elementary School as a shelter for evacuated residents. Tables and chairs will be set up in the gymnasium or the cafeteria. District security and custodial personnel will be on hand to provide any assistance they can.

He assumed snow and ice had tumbled off the roof of his 738 Seneca St. home. That's been a common occurrence this winter, Sabol said, as snowstorm after snowstorm has pummeled the Lehigh Valley.
When he looked out the front window, however, Sabol realized that more than snow and ice had fallen onto the sidewalk. The porches of his row home and three adjacent residences -- 740, 742 and 744 -- had collapsed.
Sabol said the collapse occurred about 2:55 p.m. He called borough authorities before exiting the rear of his home.
"We're moving in a month or so, thank God," said 29-year-old Sabol, who lives in the home with a roommate.
Fountain Hill Fire Department Assistant Chief David Boehrer said no one was hurt in the collapse, which prompted an evacuation. An additional eight homes, four on either side of those directly affected by the collapse, were evacuated, as well, he said.
The evacuations were a precaution, Boehrer said. Borough firefighters, along with Eastern Salisbury firefighters and members of a Lehigh County special operations team, are evaluating the row homes to make sure they are structurally sound and safe for residents, he said.
Everyone who lives in homes directly affected by the collapse is accounted for and a preliminary search of rubble on the sidewalk confirmed that no pedestrians were trapped, Boehrer said. Residents forced to leave their homes were directed to nearby Fountain Hill Elementary School, where a temporary shelter was set up, he said.
Early on, at least, no one had opted to go to the shelter, he said. At 4:30 p.m., Boehrer said he was unsure when or whether residents would be allowed to go home.
This is Sabol's first winter on Seneca Street, but neighbor Mike Ferry has lived in the neighborhood for five years and can't recall any similar incidents. He noted, though, that this is the snowiest winter since he moved to the block.
