Carters My Plumber is volunteering this summer at Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis to feed the homeless. Wheeler Mission has both a men and womens shelter in Indianapolis. They provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, showers, clothing, chapel services, and medical, dental and case management services. They provide meals 365 days per year, serving over 300,000 meals every year.

Wheeler Mission: Help. Hope. Healing. Wheeler Mission Ministries offers a homeless shelter for men and women, along with residential programs, addiction recovery and a thrift store. Wheeler Mission was founded in 1893 under the name Door of Hope by William V. Wheeler. Over the years Wheeler Mission has opened Lighthouse Mission which provides programs for homeless men, and the Care Center which is a center for women and children. Wheeler Missions vision is to see every man, woman and child they serve equipped to be productive citizens who enjoy lasting success in Christ.

Carters My Plumber dedicates one day a week to serve the homeless: Carters My Plumber owners, Jamie and Lisa Carter, have a heart to serve others. Last year, they traveled to Haiti to install plumbing in a village orphanage. This summer, they have chosen to give their time serving lunch in the soup kitchen at Lighthouse Mission. Every Tuesday, two of the Carter Team members serve lunch to hundreds of homeless men who come to the shelter for a hot lunch. Its a heart-warming experience to know we have contributed to our community by serving others, says Lisa Carter. Jamie Carter comments, We serve people every day through our plumbing business, but sacrificing a few hours to give back to those in desperation keeps us coming back.
