Horace Mann Insurance and Dave’s Plumbing are Barbour Chamber Members of the Month – WV News

PHILIPPI Daves Plumbing and Heating, doing business as DPH, and The Taylor Michael Insurance Agency, a Horace Mann Co., are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month in November.

Max Chevalier is the owner of DPH, while Taylor Michael Smith is the owner of the Horace Mann Insurance agency in Fairmont.

Daves Plumbing and Heating is a mechanical contracting business specializing in plumbing, heating and cooling installation and service located on U.S. 250 in Barbour County at the intersection of Ten Mile Road. The firm, said Chevalier, provides professional heating and cooling sales and service at a price that leaves our customers no reason to seek our competition. Chevalier is a state licensed and registered contractor.

Chevalier, born in Akron, Ohio, and raised in Philippi, graduated from Philip Barbour High School. He is a member of the board of directors of the Barbour County Community Health Association and was recognized in 2010 in Whos Who Among Business Professionals. He has been a Lennox dealer for over 40 years.

Horace Mann Insurance Agency owner Taylor Michael Smith said the agency was built by educators for educators, and tailors its products to the needs of people in the education system. We pride ourselves in being partners in the schools. We work with auto, fire, life and retirement services and, as partners, we help with student loan forgiveness, Donors Choose and other school-specific programs.

We arent a large, marketed company to the general public, she said, because all of our marketing dollars go back into the schools. We believe that the people shaping our future deserve the best, and we strive every day to make that happen.

Smith began a career in physical therapy in Fairmont, worked for Lesa Yoho State Farm, and became an agency owner two years ago. Her Horace Mann insurance agency is located at 726 E. Park Ave. in Fairmont.
