Jospeh Raymond Puglise
Joseph Raymond Puglise, 90, beloved husband of Dorothy (Larson) Puglise of Granby, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on April 12, 1922, he was the son of the late Leon Jack and Anna (Paddella) Puglise. Joseph lived in Granby for 25 years and most recently in East Granby for the past two years. Joseph honorably served his country during World War II in the US Army, Company C, 75th Infantry Division. After sustaining injuries during a mission in Germany, he was honored with the Purple Heart Award for valor and bravery. Joseph returned home to Northern Connecticut where he worked as a plumber for over fifty years and was a member of Local 777 in Hartford. He was a faithful and active member of the American Legion from 1947 until the time of his passing. He was a past commander of the Simsbury American Legion Post 84 and was currently a member of the Shannon-Shattuck Post 182 in Granby. Joseph was a boy scout in his youth and continued his involvement with scouting as an adult. During his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. In addition to his wife Dorothy, Joseph leaves two sons, Frank Puglise and his wife Karen of Granby and Dennis Puglise and his wife Teresa of Tariffville and a daughter, Deborah Kane of Tariffville; three step-daughters, Dianne Doot and her husband Dave of Wethersfield, Janyce Vicik and her husband Steve of Boxboro, MA, and Andrea Lowy and her husband David of Shrewsbury, MA; 12 grandchildren, Jeffrey ...From:Carmon TributesViews:0 0ratingsTime:06:41More inPeople Blogs
