TAMPA - "I love the pink trucks!" said Christine Manley, who had a broken water heater.

"We had to call a plumber right away." Her husband knew just who to call. The Pink Plumber has operated for nearly 20 years, and the company gives back to the community by donating to breast cancer research.

"I'd seen the trucks and I was really curious cause honestly, I thought that maybe it was a bunch of women plumbers!

Not women but - men sporting bright pink trucks around town -- helping residents with their pipe problems.

The owner, Geoffrey Gillon, not only takes pride in his company's customer service but also their cancer research efforts.

"We're happy to say we donate five percent of our net profits to the Moffitt Research Cancer Center" said Gillon.

This isthe pinkplumber'sfirst year operating in the Tampa Bay area.

This year alone, they have made $1,500 for the center, bringing their grand total of donations to breast cancer research to $46,000 over the past 4 years.

Geoffrey's cause is a personal one. His father died of lung cancer. His mother is a breast cancer survivor. He attributes the 30 plus years he had left with her to the researcher centers and doctors trying to find a cure. "Its amazing to see what goes on in these places and the ladies who have to go through chemotherapy and all the different things. Its just awful to see but its nice to know they are getting closer and closer."

According to the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that among U.S. Women over 230,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will occur this year -- and nearly 17 percent of those cases will result in death.
