Pressure is on for the plumber

TAMWORTH plumber Ben Ryan definitely wasnt chosen as a contestant in Dancing with the Tamworth Stars for his ability on the dance floor.

Ben and partner Lucinda Burt are one of 11 couples taking part in the fundraiser for the Cancer Council at Blazes at West Leagues on Saturday night.

Ben is more at home installing hot water systems than tripping the light fantastic, but his good mate, Wade OShea, put his name down as a contestant and Ben felt it was the least he could do to get involved in such a great cause.

Im not a dancer. Ive never done any formal training, but I think Im going alright, Ben said.

It was very hard learning the routine but now its just a matter of remembering those steps.

Sally (Keft-Gill) took a video of our practice session and she reckons I look like Im in the middle of nowhere, but I think Ill be alright.

Ive been practising at home and my wife and seven-month-old find it hilarious.

Ben said he doesnt have any aspirations of being in the winners circle on the night, but you never know stranger things have happened.

The self-employed plumber is relying fairly much on his dance partner, Lucinda Burt, to guide the way.
