The Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters (Board) announced disciplinary action against Scott Anderson of Saugus.

By final decision and order by default, the board has imposed a $1,000 fine upon Anderson for practicing unlicensed. The board found that Anderson had never been issued a license to practice as a plumber in Massachusetts but was employed by and/or acting on behalf of CTF Plumbing & Drain and/or C.T.F. Plumbing & Heating.

The Board of Registration of Plumbers and Gas Fitters holds examinations and issues licenses for journeyman and master plumbers, journeyman and master gas fitters. It registers apprentice plumbers and gas fitters and issues corporate and partnership certificates. The board currently licenses a total of approximately 26,753 individuals and businesses in the plumbing and gas fitting profession.

Consumers are urged to visit the Division of Professional Licensures website at http://www.mass.gov/dpl and select the Check a Professionals License link to determine whether a professional with whom they may do business is licensed and in good standing.
