New apartment homes coming to Hardeeville – Bluffton Today

Hardeeville will soon have another development with apartment homes and cottages.

The firm Sands Companyrecently announced it has begun construction on a detached, horizontal cottage-style apartment home project in the city, according to a news release.

The new development is known as Argent Cottage Apartment Homes and it will be located at Argent Boulevard and New River Parkway.

"Argent Cottages add to the inventory of housing so desperately needed for the workforce and their families," Hardeeville Mayor Harry Williams said. "Its a good project and I wholeheartedly endorse it and voted for it."

Argent Cottage Apartment Homes will include 354 one- and two-story cottages ranging from one to three bedrooms, according to the release. The detached cottage homes will have 510 to 1,293 square feet of living space with monthly rent starting from $1,440. Sands expects to complete the first phase of cottages in the second quarter of 2023.

We chose Hardeeville for our next development because of how close it is to popular areas like Hilton Head and Savannah, Sands president Joe Morrison said in the release. Residents who work in these destination towns need a place to retreat and call home. Argent Cottages does that while offering the privacy of a detached home and flexibility of renting while tying in the coastal charm of its locale.

Argent Cottages'in-home features will include luxury plank flooring, granite countertops and front porches, according to the release. Many of the homes will also include a private garage and side pet yards, as well as high ceilings and natural light.

"Attainable workforce housing has many levels and there is no single strategy that will fill the needs of every price level," Williams said. "With new industry and a growing job market for medical professionals, Argent Cottages will help to satisfy some of the shortages."

Williams said as industry and warehousing continue to grow, housing in the city limits relieves some of the pressure on the roads that commuters use.

Some of the amenities at Argent Cottage Apartment Homes will include a resort-style pool with a sun shelf, poolside cabanas, an outdoor kitchen with grilling stations, a fire pit, putting green and bocce. There will be an entertainment kitchen in the clubhouse along with private workstation pods for residents who work from home.
