SAN ANTONIO -- People living in the Colonies North subdivision, near 410 and Wurzbach, and neighboring Colonial Hills are on alert after they say thieves have been targeting their porches for packages.

Neighbor Pat Bode said she saw a thief take a package from her neighbor's door step earlier this month in broad day light. "He picked up a package and ran back to the vehicle and they took off," Bode said.

Delivery companies like UPS and FedEx suggest customers get tracking on their packages and also request somebody sign for them.

The companies also say it might be a good idea to ask a neighbor to look out for their order, or have the package delivered to their place of employment.

If a customer believes a package was taken from his or her doorstep, UPS advises the individual to file a police report.
