TV9 - Residents of Kundala protest Against Bad Roads In Mangalore...! The resident #39;s of Kundala, Ballur Gudde Road, along with DYFI and CPI(M) staged a protest near Kannur here on November 12. Speaking to mangalorean.com, CPI(M), Kannur Unit Secretary, Mohammed Sadiq said that the Mangalore City Corporation is not doing any development work in Kundala area. The open gutters are invitation for breeding mosquito #39;s and the spreading of Malaria. We have staged many protests but our plea has not been heard by the concerned authorities. The corporator of Kannur, Sudheer Shetty, is not keen to solve the problems of Kondala residents. In the rainy season the water flowing from the hill side, gushes inside the houses. Sometimes residents have to leave their houses and live with their relatives in other places. There are no proper rain water flowing drains. In rainy season it is very dangerous to walk near the open pond which overflows and cannot be identified. Due to the vehicles passing on the road the retaining wall of the pond has collapsed. There are a number of school going children and they face a lot of problems. He demanded that the concerned authorities look into the matter and take all the required safety measures in the locality. Mangalore City President of DYFI Imthiyaz also spoke on the occasion. Imthiyaz said that if there is no response from the concerned authorities, they would stage a protest in front of the Mangalore City Corporation.
