CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Baker Roofing Company, a full service building envelope contractor with expertise in restoration, announced today it has expanded its presence in the Charleston market to address growing demand for its services in the region.

Since moving to the area, Baker has consistently grown its operations to better serve customers and most recently hired Jake Hyatt as General Manager of the Charleston office and Alexandra Maas as Account Manager.

Baker Charleston specializes in both commercial and residential capacities, including concrete, structural and masonry restoration services, historical restorations, new construction, re-roofing, metal roofing and waterproofing. The office's footprint extends from Charleston to Savannah, Ga. Recently, the company was given the BASF Parking and Stadium Project of the Year award for restoration work that it completed on a Charleston County parking structure in 2011. One of Baker Roofing Company's most acclaimed roofing projects was the installation of a 2.6 MW photovoltaic rooftop system for The Boeing Company, the largest rooftop solar system in the Southeast and the sixth largest in the U.S.

"The Charleston area has excellent potential for growth and development, and an increasing need for restoration expertise. Baker has worked hard to establish itself in the market and has quickly become engaged in a number of high-profile projects throughout the state," said Prentiss Baker, owner of Baker Roofing Company. "We're excited to have Jake and Alexandra on board to help foster our organization's expansion plans and continue our mission to always do good work."

Hyatt is a second-generation roofer who has been in the industry for 28 years and worked at some of the largest roofing companies in the U.S. His duties will include developing strategic plans to advance the company's mission and objectives, promoting profitability and growth, as well as overseeing company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality service and cost-effective management of resources.

"I'm excited to join the Baker team and contribute by offering my expertise to the Charleston area," said Hyatt. "Our roofing and restoration professionals are armed with the latest technology, a wealth of experience and a strong sense of professionalism. We plan to educate each customer on our comprehensive service offerings, as well as assist them in all areas of the technical side of restoration, roofing and associated services. We will bring unique value to our customers by forming partnerships and taking a proactive approach to their needs."

Baker Charleston's new account manager, Alexandra Maas, offers five years of experience in general contracting and has expertise in the estimating and field management areas of the roofing industry. Maas is excited to have the opportunity to further foster the growth of Baker's business profile, including the healthcare, retail and education sectors.

Baker Roofing Company has had a presence in the Charleston market for years but officially opened a local office in 2010. Some of Baker's other South Carolina clients and projects include Parris Island, MUSC Specialty Care, Tractor Supply, the Citadel, Scottish Rite, and Roper Cardiac and Critical Care.
