HUNTINGTON -- Fred Boggs has kept a roof over his family's head for nearly 25 years by keeping roofs over the heads of others.

The family-owned and operated business at 320 W. 15th St. in Huntington focuses primarily on commercial and industrial work, including multiple local schools.

The company's success was recently highlighted after it received the 2014 Excellence in Single-Ply Award from Carlisle SynTec Systems.

Fred Boggs, company president, said the reason he got into the roofing business is simple -- every building needs a roof.

"Roofs have a limited service life before they need to be replaced, so we will always have work," Fred Boggs said. "Another benefit to roofing is it's typically short-term work. While other contracting jobs may take years, our jobs are typically around two to three months. This gives our guys a change of scenery, which helps keep up morale."
