SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Two Statesboro roofing companies, both with basically the same name, are operating in the same city.

One's been there for more than a decade, the other arrived on the scene a few weeks ago.

One has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. The other does not and the confusion is causing some issues in Statesboro.

"They are being confused for us on a daily basis," said Trent Nesmith, owner of American Roofing and Vinyl Siding.

Nesmith's American Roofing has been based in Statesboro for the past 14 years, with operations in Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and North Carolina.

"Google 'American Roofing' and we have worked really hard to organically build the search to find us, but that benefits him," Nesmith said.

Nesmith is referring to Richard Roberts, the owner of American Roofing and Vinyl, which just moved into Statesboro.

Nesmith says his American Roofing is getting calls about the new American Roofing, so he posted a warning online, which pops up when you visit their website,http://www.americanroofingandvinyl.com/.

"In an effort to try and prevent confusion, between the real and the imposters, I want to get it out to as many people as I can. We've worked really hard to build our name since 1999," Nesmith said.
