Cars and sheds broken into during overnight crime spree in Swanage

THIEVES targeted cars, garages and sheds in a one-night spree in Swanage this week.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crimes which occurred in Accord Road, Queens Road, Manor Road, Russell Avenue and Stafford Road between 5pm on Tuesday, May 7 and 7.30am on Wednesday, May 8.

Purbeck Police Constable Simon Colvin said a prowler was disturbed on Manor Road at around 12.20am on Wednesday, described as a white man in his 20s, about five feet nine inches tall, of slight build with short dark hair, wearing a body warmer and a dark coloured fleece.

He added: Later that morning, at approximately 2.20am, offenders were disturbed while breaking into a vehicle on Bon Accord Road. They ran away and dropped a bag of stolen property which was recovered. There are no descriptions apart from that one was wearing a hat.

I am appealing for anyone who witnessed these incidents or recalls any suspicious activity in the area to contact Dorset Police.
