JUNEAU | A 38-year-old Oconomowoc man is charged with burglary after taking several items from garages and sheds in the Watertown area.

Bradley Schlieve made his initial appearance in Dodge County Circuit Court on Monday and is charged with felony charges of burglary of a building or dwelling, two counts of misdemeanor theft and one misdemeanor count of theft. He could face up to 26 and a half years in prison and $70,000 in fines if convicted of the charges.

He was released on a $2,000 signature bond. He may not have any direct or indirect contact or communication with the victims or their residence.

Police were called to a residence on Highway R in Lebanon in November of 2013 for a report of break-in at a detached garage. A 2012 Harley Davidson Electro-Glide was taken out of the garage and left outside with damage to the paint. He also found a John Deere garden tractor was missing from a shed. The garden tractor was located a short distance away, outside a shed on Highway SC. An ATV was found to be missing from that shed.

A relative of the person who owned the ATV posted information about the theft on the Lake Country Buy Sell Site on Facebook. A man responded saying there was an ATV matching the description of the ATV near Schlieves home.

Also, the steering wheel of the garden tractor was swabbed and DNA implicated Schlieve in the taking of the tractor.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 28.
