Dear Ryan [Ulyate] and Beth [Burnam],

Thanks for your email and all the information imparted and the informational links that were included. I personally applaud your intention to make Topanga a fire safe community.

There are several concerns with the tree removal program that the NTCFSC is presently engaged in. I am more than willing, as I am sure all community organization leaders are, to have a face-to-face with you regarding these issues. These issues affect all Topangans, not just those of us who have been given the honor to represent a particular group.

This is a conversation that needs to include the greater Topanga community.

Since I am sure that you want to hear from the community-at-large and not just the community organization leaders, the meeting you are proposing should be done at a time and place that will give the largest number of Topangans an opportunity to appear and participate.

If you feel putting together such an event is beyond your purview, then I suggest that several community organizations join forces to host such an afternoon or evening.

My hope is that in the course of this free-flowing open forum we all will gain a greater understanding of how we can all best serve Topanga and strike a balance between fire safety and the continued preservation of the Canyon that we all love.

Joseph Rosendo
