"What a beautiful day," you say, as you step out and examine your lawn for the first time.

But, wait, that big tree that has been in your yard forever, isn't budding like it used to.

Time to get it cut down.

But landscape scammers may be on the prowl this Spring, looking to make a quick buck.

"Spring is usually the busiest time of year for tree removal," says Chris Johnson - an arborist - or profession tree cutter - for Davenport.

Johnson sometimes has to clean up the mistakes other companies make.

Companies who may be looking to take your money.

"I would strongly recommend you get a written agreement that you are going to pay them for a certain service. And then don't pay them until the service is complete."

Johnson adds, you may want to check if companies are even eligible to work in your city.

Not every requires tree trimming businesses to be licensed with the city they are working in.
