Mary Jo Wohlers led the first volunteer team from the US Embassy in Macedonia
A volunteer team from the US Embassy led by Mary Jo Wohlers worked on instaling styrofoam, window replacement and indoor repairs on a home as well as day centar for people with special needs. The house in Volkovo is a home of five beneficiaries with intelectual disability in the Community Based Supported Housing program and a Day Center. Habitat for Humanity Macedonia and Poraka Negotino hosted the first US Embassy volunteer team, among which HE the US Ambassador, USAID Directors and employees of the embassy. They were implementing energy efficient measures together with the beneficiaries and the mayor of the municipaliy of Gjorche Petrov. By to providing a warmer home for the winter, the volunteers celebrated Thanksgiving with a turkey lunch.
