SIOUX CITY | Western Iowa Tech Community Collegeadded five full-time instructors to its faculty fall semester.

Shonda Blum, a resident of Manilla, Iowa, is an instructor of nursing, responsible for teaching LPN students at WITCCs Denison campus. She teaches Nursing I and Nursing II.

Blumalso is employed as a nurse at Manilla Manor, a residential care facility. She was previously employed as an independent case manager with a focus on occupational health, workers compensation, and ergonomics.

Sheholds a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Creighton University and is currently enrolled in Regis University, working on a masters degree in nursing education. She is a certified occupational health nurse (COHN) and a certified case manager (CCM).

Ben Segebart, a resident of Dow City, is an instructor in the electrical program at WITCCs Mapleton location. His duties include teaching electrical theory, installation of wiring systems, introduction to wiring, principle of motors and transformers, motor control, advanced commercial wiring, field installed commercial systems, programmable logic controllers, and workplace communications.

His previous position was with the Home Builders Institute which included teaching electrical, carpentry, plumbing HVAC, and landscaping. He received his electrician diploma from WITCC and holds a master A electrical license andcertifications in electrical and mechanical thermal imaging.

Chris Mansfield, a resident of Sioux City, is instructor in the Audio Engineering Technician and Audio Production Assistant programs. He is responsible for training students in diverse skills required in the fields of audio, sound studio operations, current music technologies, and music and sound production as they are applied in the fields of music, film, video, television, and interactive media.

Through a combination of hands-on exercises, lectures, team projects, and real-world applications, Mansfield introduces students to audio theory and competency with industry standard tools including the operation of a professional sound-mixing and recording studio.

Mansfield formerly owned and managed his own media production company, Woodland Media Productions. He has been employed in corporate communications at Long Lines Ltd., and was senior director at KTIV Television. He has for many years been an adjunct instructor at WITCC and an instructor in the colleges Institute for Lifelong Learning.

He holds an associate degree in technical studies from Western Iowa Tech Community College.
