TESDA inks MOA with Zobel Foundation for construction of Voc-Tech center

MANILA Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary and Director General Joel Villanueva and E. Zobel Foundation Inc. chairman of the board Dee Anne Hora- Zobel on Friday signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for a technical vocational training center in Batangas province.

Villanueva said the ENZO Tech in Calatagan will be the newest learning hub for youth in technical skills development, proper values and ethics to meet the growing job market demand.

The building is designed to be eco friendly, well ventilated using solar energy to generate power and local materials like bamboos and others.

The initial courses to be offered about 120 students are transport servicing courses on automotive mechanic, motorcycle small engine servicing, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), building wiring installation, home/industrial technology servicing in refrigerator,/ aircon repair servicing, cellphone repair servicing and computer servicing.

ENZO Tech is a non-stock, non profit organization of the E. Zobel Foundation Inc. founded by the late Don Enrique Zobel who believes that Through education, there is hope for a better life.

It will also focus on the quality of public education, in five major areas: school infrastructure development, teacher training, student health and nutrition.i

TESDA will provide the build-up programs to equip the training centers trainers and personnel in conducting skills training programs and help monitor the progress of the institution.

ENZO Tech will offer courses that are registered with TESDA according to the provisions in the Unified Technical vocational education and training (TVET Program) Registration and Accreditation System (UPTRAS).

It will also identify the beneficiaries of the skills training program, including those belonging to organized groups, individual and groups endorsed by local government units, families of overseas Filipino workers and marginalized sectors. (PNA)
