Florence lines up infrastructure projects - March 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

FLORENCE, S.C. The bidding is open for initial work on more than $27 million in infrastructure projects in Florence, including two parking decks, an amenities feature, a gymnasium and road improvements.

Part new penny sales tax projects and part Tax Increment Funding (TIF) projects, as a whole they represent the citys aggressive commitment to solidify downtown revitalization with infrastructure.

The corridor enhancements, intersection improvements and road widening projects totaling an estimated $19,714,375 represents the bulk of the citys penny sales tax projects that will be funded through a $125 million bond expected in April. That $125 million bond will be paid down over seven years thanks to the 1 percent sales tax, keeping the county rate 8 percent through April 30, 2021.

The city is leading the charge in the county with moving forward on its penny projects.

Florence Mayor Stephen J. Wukela said the projects need to get moving to meet current and future needs.

Were getting ready to get the Waters building open and the museum open, Wukela said. If we get in a situation where we start having very serious parking problems, we may inhibit growth down there.

The projects also include road widening projects near the Florence Civic Center, neighborhoods and major road arteries.

The scope of work does not include $5 million worth of street work under the penny sales tax, though. Florence City Manager Drew Griffin said those improvements will go forward, but will do so in coordination with the citys forthcoming neighborhood redevelopment plan.

The Dargan Street corridor project is a penny sales tax project, but is paired with the parking decks since the projects are interconnected.

It is apparent that Dargan (Street) is a very important corridor for downtown from north Dargan to all the way to Cherokee and library. Thats a very important corridor, Griffin said. From the standpoint of pedestrian friendly and movement, it needs to be the most friendly. We have the library, the (Florence) Little Theatre, the Performing Arts Center, adult education associated with (Florence) School District 1 and the museum on it.

Mold Contaminates Delaware Kindergarten Classroom, Florida Air Quality Testing Company AGC Environmental Gives Public … - March 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    (PRWEB) March 12, 2014

Mold was recently discovered in a kindergarten classroom of Delaware Valley Elementary School. And in connection with, Florida air quality testing company AGC Environmental gave the public an advice on how to prevent the worst of mold effects.

In a report from poconorecord.com posted on March 11, 2014, it was said that the fungus' presence was discovered on February 28. And since then, it stated that officials had been monitoring the affected the area.

There were two or three mold spots found in the classroom, related the report. However, it shared that students were not removed from it as the treatment was done over the weekend. Regardless, it stated that letters were sent to parents regarding the problem.

This recent mold issue wasn't the first for the school though, relayed the report. Back in April 2013, it stated that the same kindergarten classroom, as well as the DVE-TV room, was also found with mold.

Here is an excerpt from the said news post.

"Mold growth was discovered last month in a Delaware Valley Elementary School kindergarten classroom."

"The mold, two or three spots about the size a pencil eraser, was found on Feb. 28. The district had the entire weekend to treat it, so students were not removed from the classroom, and a letter was not sent home to parents regarding the discovery, officials said."

If mold remediation is delayed, the problem would get worse. And so, would its effects on health and finances. Given that, AGC Environmental, in light of the mold discovery in a Delaware school, said that it is imperative to kill mold early.

However, before one implements a mold cleaning, he or she must first confirm the fungus' presence, said the company. That way, waste of money is avoided, it stated. And to do that, it cited that indoor air quality test is the best process to take.

Mold Prompts Closure of San Francisco's Fire Station 48, My Cleaning Products Advises Use of Two Mold Sprays to Help … - March 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2014

The presence of mold was confirmed in a fire station in San Francisco. And that forced the firefighters to move out of the building, said a report from abclocal.go.com dated March 07, 2014. In response to it, My Cleaning Products recommended two organic mold removal sprays to help the public safely avoid a similar incident.

As the report related, the mold was particularly found on Treasure Islands' Station 48. Its presence, it detailed, was confirmed after the building investigators released their report last week.

The fungus affected the downstairs rooms of the building, said the report. And as the investigators recommended abatement, it relayed that its staff and equipments were evacuated to a training facility. But because the temporary location is just a few blocks away, it added that no impact was expected on the response time of the firemen.

Based on the report though, some firefighters thought that the authorities' response to the problem was not fast enough. It relayed that just as they stated, they complained years ago about leaks and moldy smell in the building. However, the officials said that none of those complaints reached them else, they would have acted earlier.

Below is an excerpt from the post Mold Shut Down San Francisco Fire House by My Cleaning Products.

Mold closed down yet another firehouse. And with it being a huge risk to human health, questions are floating whether the officials responded quick enough to protect the firemen.

Station 48 on Treasure Island in San Francisco was particularly the firehouse that was reportedly shut down due to the presence of the spores. Temporarily, its agents and equipments were moved to a nearby fire academy. And as the temporary location is just a few blocks away from the facility, no effect is expected on the response time of the firefighters.

According to My Cleaning Products, the minor health problems that mold brings could turn worse in just a short time. Moreover, it could cause one to vacate his place as the firefighters of Station 48 did, it said. Because of that, it stated that it is essential to kill mold early.

However, to be able to do that, MCP cited that some help would be needed. And among the many mold remediation products, it asserted that Molderizer and Safe Shield are the best aid one could get.
