LakePoint Sporting Community Begins Installation of 11 Shaw Sports Turf Fields - May 8, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Emerson, GA (PRWEB) May 08, 2014

LakePoint Sporting Community, the worlds largest sports vacation destination, has chosen Shaw Sports Turf as the provider of its first 11 playing fields. Shaw Sports Turf is engineered for performance and safety specifically to meet the needs of athletes and sports programs.

The initial seven fields are scheduled for completion in June 2014 and the remaining four will be completed later this year. Each field will be uniquely engineered to serve a number of different sports. Three of the fields will serve soccer and lacrosse, featuring Shaw Sports Turfs Legion and PowerBlade systems on a shock pad. The other eight are baseball fields utilizing the TruHop system designed by Shaws R&D team, in conjunction with former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz.

The Shaw Sports PowerBlade systems are specially designed to meet the stringent standards of FIFA, and the Legion turf systems cater to the performance and durability needs of multi-use fields. The TruHop turf system can be tailored to fit each performance area of a baseball field, including the infield, outfield, warning track, base path and foul lines.

Our mission is to manufacture world-class athletic fields, said Shaw Sports Turf Territory Manager Jim Watts. The LakePoint campus will be the nations largest sports vacation destination and we are thrilled to have an opportunity to showcase our fields in a facility that will be second-to-none.

The use of synthetic turf will also prevent downtime from inclement weather and can withstand up to 3,000 hours of play per year, versus 1,000 hours per year for grass fields.

When completed, LakePoint Sporting Community will be the largest synthetic turf installation in the world, spanning more than 1,200+ acres to provide state-of-the-art venues for more than 40 different sports.

We are excited to be working with Shaw Sports Turf, a world-class manufacturer of synthetic turf fields, said LakePoint Sporting Community Development Partner Judy Sparks. We chose Shaw Sports Turf for our initial fields because we are impressed with the advanced technology used in their product and we are committed to supporting locally-based businesses when possible.

LakePoint has brought together the best tournament operators and organizations as partners and long-term tenants, including Perfect Game USA, North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA), LB3 Lacrosse, Terminus Wakeboard, Rally Volleyball and Greg Norman Golf Academy.

About LakePoint Sporting Community Bartow County and the City of Emerson will become the unparalleled sports destination in the world with the development of LakePoint Sporting Community. The development will include 1,200+ acres of sports venues, commercial, retail, and entertainment options. Celebrity Designer, Mark Brunetz Speaks about Philanthropic Design at Grand Opening of The Carpet Boutiques 3rd Miami … - May 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

By cnews Date posted: May 5, 2014

Opening a third Miami showroom, is a dream come true for the Gonzalez family. When Manuel Gonzalez opened The Carpet Boutique in 1979, he envisioned bringing to Miami quality flooring products with a commitment to personalized service that would help his clients reach their design goals, from the concept through to execution. After the sudden loss of their father to cancer in 2003, the Gonzalez siblings put their own careers on hold and took over the operation of the business alongside their mother, Clara. They now run stores in Coral Gables, Midtown Miami, and soon, Aventura.

Opening a third store is a dream come true, stated Clara Gonzalez. We are thankful for the many years that our clients have supported us and hope the Aventura location will help serve them better. And, to affiliate ourselves with the importance of philanthropic design supports our mission to give back to the community. We hope that we can help Mark encourage more South Florida designers to participate.

Coastal Dreams where West Coast style meets East Coast living is the theme for the Grand Opening to be held at 6pm on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Emmy Award-Winning, celebrity designer Mark Brunetz from Style Networks Clean House hosts this event. Brunetz will share his experience with the International Design Guilds Design for a Difference contest that awards the winning designer $25,000 in goods and services from IDG and collaborates with them to revitalize their nominated charitys space.

Design for a Difference is more than a name; its a mission to unite a community of designers and leverage their ability to change lives, one space at a time. And when its a space at a charity, it becomes the gift that keeps on giving, said Mark Brunetz. Its so important to give back, and this contest makes it so much easier for philanthropic designers to do so.

Designers, architects, and design students who would like to enter the Design for a Difference contest and nominate a favorite charitable organization, can visit http://www.idgcontest.com for more information. The deadline is June 1, 2014 and the winners will be announced on August 1, 2014.

Carpet Laying Services Procurement Category Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld - May 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 02, 2014

The carpet laying services market displays a buyer power score of 3.9 out of 5, indicating that buyers have a greater degree of power during the negotiation process. There are an estimated 11,075 suppliers providing carpet installation services; therefore, the market has a low level of concentration, says IBISWorld procurement analyst Kiera Outlaw. In the three years to 2013, carpet installation prices are estimated to rise at an annualized rate of 1.8%, primarily due to rising demand from increased activity in the relevant construction sectors.

During the current three-year period, the value of private nonresidential construction is estimated to increase. As the number of commercial and industrial facilities rises, demand for flooring installation services has been rising, too, says Outlaw. To keep pace with rising demand, carpet installers have been hiring more staff, which has increased wage costs. Unable to absorb the market's rising input costs, suppliers of carpet laying services have been forced to pass costs down the supply chain in the form of higher market prices.

Buyers have been able to use market conditions to their favor during the period. The low level of market share concentration suggests that suppliers primarily compete based on price. As a result, buyers have been able to pit suppliers against each other to get the best price; however, buyers must take a supplier's level of experience and qualifications into consideration during the selection process, which slightly lowers buying power. Even though a supplier may charge a low price, it does not necessarily mean they have ample experience for every commercial carpet installation project.

In the three years to 2016, the prices of carpet laying service are forecast to rise more strongly than during the current three-year period. This high forecast growth will result from continued growth in the construction sectors, prompting many businesses to expand or renovate existing facilities. Buyers will, however, continue to experience a high degree of negotiation power due to the availability of substitutes and the ability to bundle products and services.

Go Wall-to-Wall on Carpet Terminology - May 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

If professional cleaning cant revive your carpet, its probably time to replace it.

Manufacturers say carpet should last about 10 years. With regular vacuuming, prompt attention to spills and periodic cleaning, it could last longer. But sooner or later, carpet must be replaced.

Before you visit showrooms or invite a salesperson to your home, get comfy with carpet terms and tips, compiled by our team and based on multiple interviews with top-rated carpet experts:

Pile is a carpets visible surface, also called the nap or face. It comes in two styles: loop pile, where both ends of each yarn piece are anchored to the carpet back to form a loop, and cut pile, where only one end of yarn is anchored. Other styles are variations of the cut and loop. Pile can vary greatly. A soft, velvety pile looks luxurious, but shows every footprint, and is best suited to formal rooms. A shorter, more tightly woven carpet works well in a high-traffic hallway or entryway.

Tufting is the most common method of carpet manufacturing, in which yarn ends are pushed through backing to create the pile surface.

Density is the amount of yarn and closeness of the tufts. Check density by bending a carpet corner backward, toward the backing. If you can see very little backing through the tufts, the carpeting has a high density.

    Materials for carpet yarn include:

Wool, which hides dirt well and provides a soft look and rich feel, tends to be a luxury option, at $30 to $75 per square yard.

Polyester, strong and relatively inexpensive at an average cost of $13 a square yard. Because polyester is prone to matting and tangling, its a poor choice for high-traffic areas.

Nylon, a popular choice because its soft and durable; resists stains, matting and abrasion; and is easy to clean. Costs range between $10 and $40 a square yard. Be aware that while most nylon has an antistatic coating, it can build a static charge that is uncomfortable and could harm electronic gear.
