FrontStreet Facility Solutions (FrontStreet) has partnered with Make-A-Wish Connecticut to grant one boy's wish for the room of his dreams. Nine-year-old Southington resident Andrew shared his renovation aspirations with Make-A-Wish, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
"This partnership with Make-A-Wish, and specifically Andrew's wish, was the ideal opportunity for giving back," Joseph Scaretta, FrontStreet chief development Officer, said. "The room renovation allowed us to go beyond monetary donation to creating an innovative solution based on FrontStreet's expertise and partnerships. We are so honored to be a part of granting such an incredible young man's wish."
FrontStreet and Make-A-Wish officially kicked off the execution of the project on April 21, and a celebration for Andrew to reveal his new room will take place on April 29 - World Wish Day. World Wish Day is a nationally celebrated event in honor of the first wish ever granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. After learning about Andrew's wish and that he's a big pasta fan, the West Hartford Olive Garden joined the effort and will provide complimentary catering for the reveal event.
"World Wish Day is the day we celebrate the first wish ever granted," explained Dominick. "Make-A-Wish chapters from all around the world will be granting wishes of all different types on this special day as we remember together our grassroots beginnings from over 30 years ago, and celebrate the over 250,000 children who have been touched by a wish since the first wish in 1980."
On April 29, in celebration of World Wish Day, communities will come together and experience the power of a wish. Make-A-Wish thanks FrontStreet Facility Solutions and Olive Garden for their support and generosity towards Andrew's wish and the celebration of all the wishes that have come true for kids around the world.

Low & Bonar will build a new factory at Changzhou, in the Yangtze River Delta near Shanghai, China. The new factory will use the groups unique Colback technology to supply the fast growing and important carpet tile backing and automotive markets in Asia. In the flooring industry, Colback is widely used as a primary backing in carpet tiles, high-grade patterned wall-to-wall carpeting and walk-off mats. The dimensional and thermal stability of Colback prevents carpets from bowing and skewing during processing and makes installation, especially pattern repeat, easier.
The total cost of the investment will be circa 26m spread over two years, starting towards the end of this year and will be funded from the groups own resources. The set-up of the new factory, which is to be built on a well-established industrial park, will be project managed by an experienced in-house team. Production is expected to begin in 2016 and sales and technical support will be provided by the recently formed team located in Shanghai.
Steve Good, CEO of Low & Bonar PLC, comments, Our decision to invest in a new factory in China to support the fast growing Asian markets is consistent with the groups strategy and will consolidate our position as a global leader in the carpet tile backing and automotive markets. The investment is an exciting opportunity to capitalize on our unique technology throughout Asia and to follow, and support, our strategic U.S. customers moving into the region. The new factory will provide a strong platform for further growth.

SPECIAL TO THE PRESS
PLAINVILLE FrontStreet Facility Solutions has partnered with Make-A-Wish Connecticut to grant local 12-year-old Andrews wish for the bedroom of his dreams on April 29, World Wish Day.
Andrew shared his ideas for a dream bedroom with Make-A-Wish, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
FrontStreet, a maintenance and management company, and the foundation officially kicked off the project on April 21. A celebration will be held on April 29 as Andrews new room is revealed. After learning about Andrews wish and that he loves to eat pasta, the West Hartford Olive Garden joined the effort and will provide complimentary catering for the event.
World Wish Day is the day we celebrate the first wish ever granted, explained Make-A-Wish Connecticut publicist Michael Dominick. Make-A-Wish chapters from all around the world will be granting wishes of all different types on this special day as we remember together our grassroots beginnings from over 30 years ago, and celebrate the over 250,000 children who have been touched by a wish since the first wish in 1980.
FrontStreet joined forces with the foundation to assist with paint and painting services, heating vents, ceiling tile replacement and repainting, lighting and carpet installation for Andrews new nautical-themed bedroom. FrontStreet also worked with its strategic partners to secure in-kind donations of tables, a television and necessary hardware, surround sound, a pool table and a foosball table. This partnership with Make-A-Wish, and specifically Andrews wish, was the ideal opportunity for giving back, Joseph Scaretta, FrontStreet chief development officer, said. The room renovation allowed us to go beyond monetary donation to creating an innovative solution based on FrontStreets expertise and partnerships. We are so honored to be a part of granting such an incredible young mans wish.
When FrontStreet offered to become a part of Andrews wish, we were thrilled, Dominick said. And now, to see the level of commitment they have given to making his wish come true, the attention to detail and the genuine passion they have shown while going above and beyond has been inspiring to us all.

A number of events took place around Ireland yesterday to mark the double canonisation of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II.
A crowd of about 3,000 turned out in brilliant sunshine at Ballybrit racecourse in Galway for a thanksgiving Mass 35 years after an estimated 200,000 travelled from all over the country for the Papal Youth Mass celebrated by John Paul II in 1979.
Among them was Deirdre Walsh from Oughterard in Connemara. I remember when the popes helicopter landed at the racecourse. It was magic, Ms Walsh, who was accompanied by her husband, John, said.
When I heard they were going to have this Mass, I just knew I had to be here, she added.
Yesterdays chief celebrant, Bishop Martin Drennan of Galway, was joined by five other bishops and 30 priests on the same red altar carpet which was used for the 1979 Mass.
A ceremony in Tralee, Co Kerry, saw relics of both the canonised saints installed in the Dominican priory in the town. The Holy Cross Church is believed to be the only church in Ireland and one of only a handful throughout Christendom with relics of both popes and those of Polish saint Sr Faustina, whose relics were also installed yesterday.
Dominican prior Fr Joe Bulman, who presided at the Mass to mark the installation of the relics, said: As far as I know, we are the only church in Ireland to have all three of them. We had been told it was an absolute impossibility to get all three relics.
Cinema screens Elsewhere, up to 400 cinema-goers watched a live feed of the canonisations on two cinema screens at Movies@Dundrum, one of which was a 3D screening.
The cinema was one of four in Ireland which screened the Mass using live footage from 13 3D cameras positioned around St Peters Square which the Vatican said was to give those who could not attend a fully immersive experience.

If my kindergartner is any authority and shell be the first to tell you that she is bubble machines represent the coolest technology on the planet.
A new project out of the University of Bristol is promising to take bubble technology to the next level. The SensaBubble initiative is designed to provide a chrono-sensory mid-air display system that delivers information and feedback through multiple senses.
Mystery Popped: Science of Bubbles Decoded
The bubbles generated by the machine are delivered at specified sizes and speeds, each filled with an opaque fog that can be custom scented. Pop the bubbles, and you get cinnamon, or pine trees or what-have-you.
Whats more, images and colors can be projected onto the bubbles in mid-air, to deliver a unique kind of alert or display system.
Electric Charge Keeps Bubbles Alive for Hours
On the SensaBubble project page, lead researcher Sriram Subramanian says SensaBubble could have potential applications in gaming, advertising, education or museum exhibits.
There are many areas in which bubble-based technology like SensaBubble could be applied, such as a SensaBubble clock that releases the number of scented bubbles corresponding to the hour, or SensaBubble Maths, an educational game for children, which incorporates smell as feedback on their success.
Well, it would certainly make math more festive. I think we can all get behind that. Check out the demo video below.

A Dutch artist has created a mind-bending optical illusion in a Japanese shopping centre to highlight the ongoing devastation caused by a huge earthquake and tsunami in the north east of the country in 2011.
The natural disaster triggered a triple meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear plant, forcing around 160,000 people from towns nearby to evacuate their homes. Many residents still havent been allowed to return.
Viewed from a distance, Jeroen Bisscherouxs Pool, Loss of Colour looks like a two-dimensional painting of a swimming pool.
Trick of the eye: A child appears to be floating in mid-air as she poses for the camera
Making a splash: The giant artwork is on display in a shopping centre in Osaka
But if you stand in the right spot the pool's walls appear to drop sharply, making the space feel 3D and giving the illusion that you are floating in mid-air above it.
The artist described the installation in the Osaka shopping centre as a carpet; an inviting, soft, warm place that he hoped guests would explore.

After an ill-advised binge-watching incident a couple of years back, I became obsessed with Game of Thrones both the acclaimed HBO series and the original epic fantasy novels by author George R. R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire. I tried plowing through the books, but soon became hopelessly lost in the storys infamous scope and complexity. I didnt blink for nine days straight, and I think I sprained a frontal lobe.
So I could have really used this interactive Game of Thrones map, which renders the vast continents of Westeros and Essos in familiar Google Maps format, with all manner of useful tools and overlays. Assembled by hardcore Game of Thrones fans (are there any other kind?), the map is designed to orient followers of the TV series or the book series, using the familiar Google Maps interface.
The Science of Game of Thrones
Toggle between Chapters or Episodes and the interactive map switches to accommodate, adjusting the ingenious Spoilers sliding pop-up tool. Simply indicate the book chapter or series episode youre currently at, and the map automatically obscures locations and map elements that might spoil future story developments.
From there, you can explore the maps other tools. The Show Regions buttons identify which noble house currently controls which city or region. Show Character Paths traces the travels of two dozen major characters. Click on a particular location, and youre shuttled to the vast fan-administered wiki project, A Wiki of Ice and Fire.
How Game of Thrones Resurrects Ancient Wolves
Its a clever and generous piece of work, useful for anyone brave enough to grapple with the impossibly huge fictional world of Game of Thrones. I applaud the civic engagement if were going to wrap our heads around this thing, we have to work together.
